- You can do the hack these ways or you do it the old fashioned way where you return the item you don’t want to customer service. Keep in mind that you will be at the mercy of that Home Depot’s policies for returns or their inventory if done with in store returns.

Great tutorial! Question for you, I bought a Milwaukee jigsaw and router and added the free battery exactly how you did it here but it lumped it in one order so I couldn’t cancel the battery I didn’t want. I had the battery for pick up at store and had the tools ship to home. If I never pick up the battery, I should get the refund for the amount of the battery correct? The receipt on my end shows the transaction split with their own separate price even though the battery was technically “free.” I look forward to your response. Thank you.
Yep you should get it auto canceled in 7 days.

@@Joethetoolguy if i select wanted items ship to home and unwanted items to store pickup i'm forced to pay the price for the both items...question is...if i pay for the unwanted items for store pick up will i recive my money back if i never pickup the unwanted items from the store ?

I think now works similar, if it’s a “free” item once ordered they split the total on the 2 articles and then you can even return at store just 1 item

Thanks, wanted item is out of stock and available for scheduled delivery and other 2 unwanted tools available for ship to home. Would it work if I ordered and cancelled the 2 unwanted tools that are ship to home right away?
I've tried it that way, usually they lump them all together when store pickup is unavailable, it's impossible to partial cancel the order that way. I have shipped to store the items I didn't want and never picked them up. Ship the item you want to your home and have them cancel the store pickup, it has worked for me in the past.

Joe, the M18 hackzall kit is hackable, you wanted to go that route.
I needed a small one to go with my m12 stuff.
m12 is plenty powerfull, way more compact and light weight.
So I’d like to hack the M12 Stubby 1/2in, but it’s only available as Ship to Store and Ship to Home in my area. Can it still be hacked if it’s not available for pickup?
It's a little more complicated but in that case you could ship the stubby to your home and have different items for store pickup without ever picking them up. HD should auto cancel after a week or so. Some stores allow you to call in your cancellation after a few days, just use the "out of town" reason. Make sure you receive the stubby before cancelling in this case.

I think it will lump them together and you can only cancel the whole order. Don't quote me on it but I believe thats how it goes.
Doesn't look like this works anymore. When the item and the free item are in your cart both items have a cancel item button but when you click either item you only have the option to cancel the entire order.
The Home Depot & whom ever the vendors are just pass the extra expenses on to the general public.
Never seen so many 🧟♀️. If Home Depot wanted you to not buy items they wouldn’t give discounts, wouldn’t let you check out items the way it works in this video they would set it up differently if they wanted. No theft, just bargains for already over priced Chinese items. A drill and battery cost $10 but they charge $100+ but you ain’t calling out that theft🤭
Free battery does not show up for me... there is an option to buy the unit with the battery that shows a “+” sign but I did that with the installation driver and they would not deliver the tool without the battery. It only came all in one box and they won’t accept a partial return of the battery.
There are different listings for the installation driver. You need to find the one that shows Free gift with purchase. That will allow you to split the items, one needs to be ship to home and the other store pickup. Here is the listing I found that allows splitting for the installation driver.

He didn't say but I ASSUME because he last minute "took his chances" choosing an entire different store for the hacksaw which I believe is the reason it separated the items listed and everyone else is getting the entire deal canceled. Try separate stores one item at another store 😉

This didn't work for me. I put the Item I wanted to ship to store and the item I didn't want ship to home. I go to cancel the home items and it only let's me cancel the entire order.
Thats weird. I just did this for the packout light. I did have a hack canceled on me a week ago due to inventory issues though.
@@Joethetoolguy ya I don't get it.. I tried it twice, once in the app and once in a web browser. It only let's me cancel the whole order. Sucks because it's a great deal if I could hack it.

Just hacked Lowes. Got a Bosch 7 1/4 profactor saw for $80 with 2 free 8ah batteries. Then returned the saw and got the $200 + batteries for free.

My sister bought a water heater today it was 539.99 she was charge 599.99 then they told her it would cost 79,00 to deliver they charged her 106.00 plus 900.00 to install she was ripped off by Home Depot. after that we both threw our cards away and will never go back.

Update I try like you and it not working at my local Home Depot. It’s showing got the discount but right after I cancel the battery it show on final recipe back to the regular price
Some here. Forget shopping at HOME-DEPOT, which limits veterans to $400 a year. No discounts for lumber either, out of the blue. Took receipts to proved previous lumber discounts. It when in one of the ears of the assistance store manager and out of the other. Lowes still supports the military without limits or restrictions. It’s time to support the local hardware and lumber stores.

Guess when they offer you rebates or specials for items they are stealing and you only pay the the manufactures recommend price or 2x higher🤡. You don’t use coupons or rebates cause that’s stealing in your mind🧢
