Signs You Have a Thyroid Problem
Вставка

- Thyroid disease affects one in five women and one in ten men, yet 50 percent of people with thyroid disease go undiagnosed. The main role of thyroid hormone is to stimulate metabolism, and it affects almost every function of the body. That’s why thyroid imbalance can cause so many different symptoms.
In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I talk all about three big hormone disruptors: thyroid, cortisol, and sex hormones.
You can find the full episode on The Doctor’s Farmacy. - Розваги
Thank God I was 1st treated for hypothyroid by a caring woman Dr that took pity on me, a 35 yr old mother of 7. It saved me from all these nasty symptoms and gave me the healthy supplementation i desperately needed for my struggling gland. Its a real thing!! Its hellish!!
What supplements did you take?
@@divakim206 most likely iodine (kelp/seaweed supplements), maybe calcium as well
@@je-ro6lr nice! I'm actually taking kelp now and I should probably start calcium. Tfs
Why is Jon Stewart from the Daily Show talking to me about thyroid?🤔
So I'm not the only one who sees it!❤
The maddening part is that if a patient told A Dr their tests might be missing the problem, we then get noted as being mentally ill, especially health anxiety and we can never be taken seriously again . Traditional medicine is sociopathic.
Yup get labeled as a hypochondriac 😢
Dude didn't even mention iodine malnutrition as the main cause of thyroid malfunction. Take kelp supplement as a source of iodine then see if thyroid function improves.
@@bubbajones4522Brazil nuts too.
I wish my dr would realize that if your hormones are in the “normal range” it doesn’t mean they are optimal. I’m on 25mcg and I feel it’s nowhere near enough.
@@isabelbecerra9258 Do they really label you as a hypochondriac in their notes and then dismiss you afterwards? They probably did that to me if thats the case. Like sorry I care about myself lol.
Mark, you’re stressing me out 😂 if the “normal” thyroid tests don’t work wtf do we do bro?! 😢😂
My question 🙋🏻♀️ exactly
Waiting for the same answer lol
Right? Waiting for him to list the correct tests lol
TSH, T3 and T4 between them should indicate a hypo- or hyper-condition, and that's a start!
What are they suppose to be? I think the reg drs say thyroid is normal but really they aren’t. Would love to know what each test number should be at… That’d be really helpful to us all🤓🙏
Please Mark you started but you left us with million questions specially for you to answer . Well you ❤
These days you have to manage your own care. I noticed that quite a while ago. I had a brain tumor in 1998 that was removed and I kept having this awful head pain and the doctors never looked at my spine-yes the brain and spine are one unit called the central nervous system…needless to say no one checked me where all the tumors were. So yeah many neurologists told me I was fine and just had migraines with a history of brain tumors..
Don’t trust medical field any longer. And then the doctor told me I didn’t have cancer yet handed me a paper and a packet that stated “cancer”.
Two doctors and one dentist almost killed me…only here because of the grace of God.
They say removing what the cancer lives on does the trick! Sugar, carbs! That's implementing the KETO diet.
we really are as bad as the Nazis when it comes to Healthcare in this country
Dentists too man. My teeth are destroyed from their work
We have two outstanding dentists and one from the same office who is now in a better place. Fixed our teeth, put in implants, helped with braces, cleaning and very careful about their care of patients. We have been so blessed in this way.
The thing is all these symptoms are also the same with peri menopause... it’s so confusing x
Amen Sister, Amen. I could not agree more. Menopausal (mine is a horror), issues completely mimic thyroid issues. AND, as if that's not confusing and awful in its own right, estradiol/progesterone/testosterone all shift constantly with the shifting thyroid hormones. A big suffering mess that women and men bear.😢🙏🏼
I have all of this I'm at wits end please help
@@teresabarr2056
I wish I could help you, myself and everyone with endocrine illnesses.
I too am at my wits end. Just know you have many people in this mess, with you. We're all in it together.🙏🏼
Perimenopause isn’t a thing, Dr. Elizabeth Bright talks about menopause, I highly recommend her ❤
@@hannahbaker3080disagree with this but appreciate your post
For many people, iodized table salt is their primary source of iodine (necessary for proper thyroid function). However many Dr's nowdays advocate a low salt diet, unsalted foods ( for high blood pressure, water weight, etc); thus many people inadvertently end up with low thyroid problems!
Iodine is imperative; and much moreso for those who dont eat ocean sourced seafoods regularily/weekly.
Yep, Dude didn't even mention iodine malnutrition as the main cause of thyroid malfunction. Take kelp supplement as a source of iodine then see if thyroid function improves.
@@bubbajones4522Well, he skipped over the causes and went to symptoms instead, and then never came back to the causes OR the cures! I'm still waiting, lol, because I have ALL those symptoms he mentioned.
I also don't use a lot of salt or iodized salt at all, but I do eat wild-caught seafood almost daily & kelp occasionally. And I take 2 drops of iodine daily as well. So I'm wondering what may be affecting my thyroid
@@cherylh4688 You prolly know, the seafood must be ocean/saltwater fish.
You may want to: ebaluate and reduce your consumption of goitrogens. And research both hypothyroidism and Hashimotos disease.
Best wishes! 🙏♥
@@Kay.in.FL.HI.SA.JP.OZ.NZ.RIO.. Thank you, Kay. I'm not sure what goitrogens are but will look it up, along with the other things you mention. Happily, tho', I don't have a goiter...at least, not yet!
But yes, I do eat wild-caught saltwater fish exclusively (sockeye salmon, sardines, mackerel, anchovies, herring, clams, oysters, and even tuna that is guaranteed to be low in mercury). I rotate them.
Thanks again!
@@cherylh4688FYi: goitrogens are foods that depress thyroid function; esp Cruciferous veggies ( which otherwise are incredibly healthy foods)! So yes, do some research and get lab tests done! Best Wishes! ♥
I had all these symptoms and was diagnosed with sub depression and prescribed antidepressants which I took for an year, but didn’t feel any better, and only after examining my thyroid I understood that all these symptoms were because of low thyroid function and antidepressants only worsened it😢
Look for Dulse seaweed . That’s what I use for low thyroid . And pair it with two or three Brazil nuts. Dulse has highest iodine in the world . I only use a pinch everyday .
Thyroid and adrenals all need support. might take a while. And yes those damn drugs do make it worse for a lot of people and so many doctors are such turds. But I digress. Go to well educated natural health food store. Terry naturally iodine. Selenium separately. Clean diet is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL. Pure organic extra virgin UNREFINED coconut oil to eat with and cook. There are probably some other herbs that you can take but start slow. Also. Use pure noni juice in glass bottle. One or two ounces in morning on empty stomach. Follow with tea if you want.. good luck.
Ha! I’ve been through that and the doctors blow you off as being crazy😢 Thank you❤
Coz there's more money in antidepressants

I've been having low-thyroid symptoms since the age of 20 or 21, and I'm now 41! My symptoms are: depression, fatigue, weight gain and inability to lose weight, changes in sex drive, changes in menstrual cycle, and I've had my T3, T4 and TSH all tested and they've come back normal. Trying to see if my new doctor will humor me and have me on a low dose of thyroid meds, see if that will help me start feeling better.
I also found out that if you have an underactive thyroid, you're more likely to develop autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and Crohn's disease. If someone has an autoimmune disease, they're more likely to develop an underactive thyroid. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis over a year and a half ago.
It doesn't mean that you will absolutely develop them, you're just more likely to.
Try Dulse seaweed and Brazil nuts. I take both of them. Only small portion of Dulse seaweed . It has the highest iodine in the world. I put Dulse seaweed in my hot water in my thermos. Drink it through the day.
I bought myself a Dulse seaweed. Apparently, the highest iodine there is in the world. My Dulse Seaweed came from the coast of Maine.
fine, but how about suggested solutions?
Dude didn't even mention iodine malnutrition as the main cause of thyroid malfunction. Take kelp supplement as a source of iodine then see if thyroid function improves.
Calcium for life is the only thing i know for now . Without ur calcium u can die of a heart attack if u have this
So what is your remedy, after analyzing all of the might be's!

They have set the normal parameter levels too low, so even if you have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism, your levels will come back showing 'normal'.
Best thing to do, is go see an endocrinologist and they will do blood tests to check,t3,t4 and TSH. They go by different levels then a regular M.D. A M.D. will say it's normal levels but it's not!! If you have a family member, especially a parent or sibling that has trouble with their thyroid, get tested!! I didn't know until my sister found out she had trouble.
Were you able to find a solution for your sister? Mine has the same problem, and I'm try to learn all I can for her to get better.
Now what do people who work 50-60 hours a week but don’t qualify for health insurance do? We can’t afford to go to the doctors. America is a scam.
yesss my T4 was 0.8, just on the cusp of "normal" so my gp was like nah it's normal... but it's not functional!!!!
I went to Gi doctor that's how i found out
I'm seeing a specialist for this and yes, I can't stay asleep, feeling tired (that's true) and forgot the body overheating in a cold place...

Great point Dr now I expect to see the answer to naturally fix a thyroid issue please..
Functional medicine.
@@DEAH-01 ahhhh indeed thankyou.
My new endocrinologist that I saw last month he's fairly young he's in practice 6 years so I gave him the history about my hypothyroidism and told him that I am on armor thyroid medication 60 mg once a day he told me oh that's not the right medication for that I think I'm going to put you on Synthroid because that works better but I'm going to do a blood test to see what your T3 and T4 levels are and I'm thinking in my head the medication that Ivan on from a different doctor I know has been working for me because I don't get sick such as viruses or anything else like that so then the blood test comes back a few days later, He tells me on the phone oh okay I'll keep you on the Armour Thyroid because I guess it seems to be working for you😮 lol and actually Armour Thyroid is better than Synthroid because this medication comes from the thyroid of a pig which is very compatible to the human body and I told him that and I bet he did not even know that.... but the thyroid issue is stemming from a different issue in the body that one is having there is a cause for it and doctors never get to the bottom of it to figure it out all they want to do is just prescribe medicine which is beyond ridiculous because they should be getting to the bottom of it
Totally agree with you.
@@francescathomas3502 you're smart too tyvm
So how do we properly test if its functioning correctly
@sarahg3863 thank you so much for that, my doctor is dismissing the fact that I have hypothyroidism even though my T4 levels are whack and I already show like 90% of the symptoms. It's crazy to me how we can have such irresposible people that are supposed to help diagnose and treat our conditions.
Ok so what do we do? I’m taking 15mg Armour Thyroid. I had significant hair loss including eyebrows.
I’ve had my hair, eyebrows, and even my eyelashes thin.. You notice your eyelashes thinning too?
@@justyouraverageintrovert8487 My Ex is a physician. Not the unhealthy, here is a pill type but one that is proactive and dedicated to find out why...she first noticed my eyebrows thinning and that is when I tested
@@chuckgreen9411 after I was tested, I was prescribed Synthroid.. after several weeks on it, I noticed some of the symptoms of low T4 had stopped, but the eyebrow, eyelash, and hair has continued to thin. Botox is linked to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 2 years ago and last time I got Botox, my Hashimoto symptoms flared up so I looked into it. No more Botox
Or you go to the Dr and they do nothing for you. Won't even run the proper tests or give "alternative" suggestions for what to do. Meanwhile you feel like you've been run over by a bus and then dragged behind it for 8 blocks.

@curlyqs9781 They haven't. When I finally got to an Endo, she did the basic hormone lab like everyone else. I didn't get a second appointment because, by that time, she was out of my insurance network, and it just started all over again. I'm losing hair like crazy. Everything hurts. I have brain fog mood swings and memory issues. It's horrible like slow death, but still being forced to function and is expected to operate normally.
Your thyroid list of symptom list is all well and good. My question is what the hell do we do about this, and how do we get some Doctor to pay attention to it?

Make sure you have both your T4 & T3 checked… your levels can show up as normal for T4 but you may not be converting enough T4 into T3, which will cause major fatigue, weight gain, etc… It causes an immediate effect to be felt and the half life of T3 is less than T4..
