Tons of great stuff - high energy, patience, fortitude, focus, important equipment info., & really great camera work. Motivating story telling - Sam, you never disappoint. Thanks.
When you push the limits, the rewards are the greatest. The target species was not harvested but who cares. You ate from the land and the footage of wildlife was EPIC!!! Amazing hunt!! ♥️
Unbelievable experience to have and extremely good ability to process your chances of success! Not a big game hunter anymore and have hunted all the different weapon choices in years past and admire your patience and figuring out the best outcome for not only you but the animals your stalking. Really enjoy you videos and making it more than just the final outcome but what leads up to that success and the full experience! Cheers and thanks for sharing you hunt!
Mule deer are some of the best meat if fixed properly! And yes the young ones are the tenderest! Been eating oregon deer meat almost 70 years and it’s what we lived on in the 50’s and 60’s when the mills were shut down
Fantastic video guys, but have to comment on someones pants or gaiters that were going “swish, swish, swish” with every step..the elk will hear it too😊. Great work guys, felt like i was right there with you
You should do a video showing all the big game animals you have harvested, like a trophy room walk through video. Anyways awesome videos, love your passion for the outdoors.
Highly recommend this recipe for backstrap. Get a big ziplock bag Make a marinade (I like these ingredients, I feel like the salts break the meat down and make it even softer); Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, bbq sauce, lime juice, favorite seasonings Let marinade for 1/2 day or so Turn smoker to lowest setting it’ll go Get some thick cut bacon and lay the strips flat to then set a chunk of backstrap on it and wrap it with the bacon and use toothpicks etc to keep it tight. Throw it on the smoker until the internal temp reaches roughly 115* Take them off the smoker and wrap them to try and keep the heat in. Now crank your smoker up to 450* and only once it’s actually at temp throw the wrapped backstraps back on to finish cook the bacon and pull them backstraps once they hit 130-135* (if you like medium/medium rare). If I could post pics in the comments I would. I have yet to have backstraps in a better way.
Get video and quality Always a good time love seeing ur videos come out You have came along way on ur videos GREAT JOB Thanks as always for taking ur time to bring us along!!!!!
About 15 years ago my buddy and I were hunting in the mountains above Leavenworth and I brought along a very similar pop up tent thing to what you are standing under while eating dinner. The snow fell like crazy that night. I woke up and the pop up had collapsed under the weight of the snow and then my buddy got a ticket because his trailer had bad tabs. It was a bad deal all around. Haha
You should look into Kodiak canvas tents. I have the 10x12 flex bow. It sets up in no time and is compact, and takes up little space in the truck. They are a canvas tent with a sewn in floor, perfect for 2 guys and gear. Love the videos keep them coming.
In my heyday I used to attack every rock face / cliff in the MHNF I came across. 2 or 3 genuine hanging-by-my-fingernail moments over those years. Content to watch you guys go at it now. 👍👍👍👍 Nice quail stock by the way ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another great video man. But hey go to 23:00 look at Nates form. His draw length is about 1-1.5 inches to short see how he's like leaning his head so far forward and his arm is pulled up and forward on his release hand and then his front right shoulder drops down instead of being more straight forward. I just literally had this same problem and didn't realize it tell recently and now I can anker into my shot so much better my form is much more relaxed and I'm way more accurate. But I could be wrong just thought I'd throw it out there. Wish someone would have said something to me so I wouldn't have to wait tell I finally realized mine was to short. Anyways keep the videos coming they are fire and its especially nice be able to watch videos from the state I live in
I have tried the late season stalking with a bow in the past in Washington... the snow or frost crunch makes it near impossible to get within a reasonable range. After a stormy night where all of our clothes got wet in our tent I went out in wet gear, was frozen solid and of course, that was the day that I did stumble across a herd in the timber where the snow had melted and I could creep up on them. I got to within what I assumed was 45 yards of a cow but was so cold my body was convulsing and I could not even draw my bow. My arrow fell off the rest 3 times, clanking against the frame but this cow just kept staring at me and did not run. I finally managed to draw and attempted to hold steady on my 40 yard pin, aiming a little high on her side guessing that it was between 40 and 50 yards. When I let loose it looked like a pass-through, I heard the arrow clang against a rock behind her and she took off running. I stumbled down to where she was standing and looked back up to where I had shot and realized it was probably more like 50-55 yards. My arrow had no blood or hair on it, so it had evidently went just under her. That was the only opportunity I had that year and decided to go back to rifle the next year. Your hunt reminded me a lot of those days spent stalking them. You can see them, you can smell them but it is so hard to get within range.
Big fan man cant believe i wasnt subbed this whole time, im just wondering what gear you bring on a back pack 2-3 days camping it would be nice to see considering you hunt same climates im looking at hunting in.
Try Nate Diez's meals .... Peak Refuel... the bomb ! Here in Australia ... we have one company producing dehy meals ... I order from the peak web site ! Sure postage is more .... but that shouldnt worry you . Havnt had a bad meal yet !
You can't properly judge food on the late hunt in Washington... I've had a can of chili and bread that was literally the best thing I've ever eaten, because of the conditions... It was 20 years ago, and I still think of it.
I’m a simple man. I see a new Samong upload, and I watch it!
😂😂 facts...
Absolutely 👍
I rather watch Samong over Meateater
Tons of great stuff - high energy, patience, fortitude, focus, important equipment info., & really great camera work. Motivating story telling - Sam, you never disappoint. Thanks.
I love these guys (not in a jailhouse kinda way) so much fun to watch them push through the challenges that would send most home to their moms!!

Great video! Love how you guys appreciate every little bit of everything out there!

Excellent choice on the font size & yellow captions!
I love this channel. Thanks for bringing quality outdoor videos. Very entertaining. My favs are the columbian blacktail hunts!!
Love the content yo, always waiting for new uploads but that jack sparrow run after you nail that quail 😂
Bonzai! Way to get after it, and it's like you said: "You won't get anything if you don't try." Keep on trucking.
Try hunting them like whitetail in the big woods where you can’t see far.

Love your videos. Real life hunting, win some, lose some.
Target tips work good for grouse. I always carry two arrows with target tips just for that.
My pants gets a really excited when I see new video.
Good work gentlemen 👊🏽 Dang so caribou is that good huh? I will try it some day 🤙🏽🥩😁
Brrrrr....that looked coooold....nice last effort!!
As always thanks for the upload Samong, awesome vid!
You should bring some small game tips for your arrows. It'll save your arrow from breaking and won't ruin a broadhead.
Another great video bud. That elk herd was nuts!!
Well done as always brother! 💪💪💪😁🤛🤛🤛🔥🔥🔥
damn. exciting time in the WA wilderness. Nice recon for the next time you get in there. If only it was modern arm...

I would expect you guys to have trekking poles and boot spikes for safety reasons.
Great video no matter the outcome

I assumed it was just mulies out there. Didn’t know whitetail lived there too! So cool you have all those there.
Watching your videos makes me want to try elk and I’m all the way down in MS🤣
Great job with your video
Best hunting UA-cam channel out there! Other channels need to follow Samong and take out all the cheesy music.

Those quail are delicious🙌
I'n my forty years of hunting that many eyes ears and noses make a hard hunt into almost impossible.. Some snow camouflage might help..
