BIG Mountain Whitetail Bucks (Late Season Hunting) | 2022 Hunting Season EP.28
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 гру 2022
- With Nate's deer tag still valid, I embark on a two-day hunt with him in the snow to find some whitetail bucks. Our expectations aren't high, but we wouldn't have been disappointed if it was in the first place.

Keep it up young man.. You have some of the best hunting videos on UA-cam. Very educational as well. I'll still here be watching when you hit one million subscribers...
Those bucks were studss! Amazing video as always Samong. Appreciate ya!!
Pretty awesome video. Brian Call gave you a shout out on his channel so watched a few videos and now gladly a follower. Great work. Always great to see hunters that value the pursuit as well as the harvest, which is evident not guaranteed in any way. Look forward to future videos.
Great ep as usual. Thank for making this video.
I enjoy your hunts. Your videos are some of the best. I really like the occasional subtitles when you guys are talking low. It’s nice to be able to follow your conversations.
Man heartbreaking ending but wow what a good experience that was! I'd be really happy already if I saw what you guys saw. Awesome video nonetheless :)
Love how you keep your cool and stay positive 🤙
This was really exciting. The hard work, perseverance and patience are worthy of a good harvest. Putting up with the cold is tough. Was wishing you were going to give that beautiful buck a back pack ride.
What a heartbreak but incredible footage !
That Chicken Pesto pasta reminds me of my first time eating it in the MRE during Army Basic Training Course. I never forget the first taste and last. Keep up the content!
That 4x4 was a dandy for sure. Too bad he didn't show himself again. You guys put in a good effort, don't beat yourself up too bad. That was a tough shot.
We waiting for those Bigfoot stories brother!!!
Great video as always guys and that was a very very close shot. I've shot out to 800yrds but that was at the range, on a bench and a nice warm day. I don't think i could've even gotten that close out in the field. i know it sucks but please don't feel to down on yourself Nate. look forward to your future videos
Great Videos Samong! Friend invited me hunting for the first time this past Nov. Love it, just bought my first rifle, and preparing for next year! Videos are very informative!
Great footage of the bucks sparring. Soo cool!
After your last video I’m super excited to watch this one too!
Not gonna lie the asmr in your vids is better than some actual asmr’ers. I’m addicted
Man that was intense you make us feel like we are there just love your videos Somong what an experience like I said before making memories my friend 🙏
That sucks! But it’s the way it goes sometimes. Stay positive guys and most importantly learn from it!
Custom turrets r amazing. Try them and u will never want to be without. Great video. That's real hunting
A clean miss is better a wounded one great effort and devotion!!! Appreciate the videos keeps the motivation high thanks for the amazing camera work
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Great job with the cameras. I wish that I could walk ridges like that I know my time of hill climbing is over but I enjoyed seeing the area through your efforts.
Great video guys!!
I missed my first elk at 100 yards a few days ago with a muzzleloader. I can't stop replaying the scenario in my mind and I was so bummed. I know the feeling and had the same conclusion you guys had which is, better prep so I can be much more confident going into the season next year. Cheers!
Man it’s a rough feeling . I’ve never got an elk yet (waiting on draw) but have hunted open zones , finally managed to call one in this past summer , such thick brush couldn’t really see him all that well so climber up some dead logs . There he was a nice 6x6 bull looking at me. All I could see what the neck head and rack , was maybe 40 yards out . Shot him in the neck thinking he would just drop , 180 grain 30/06. Could tell he was hit but ran off , gave him 30 mins. Went to go follow the blood and spooked him from a bed . Good blood so gave him a couple hours and continued but never found him . Spent the next weeks looking all over for any sign of him( rained pretty heavy next couple days ) but nothing . Asked local farmers (pasture within a mile from where I was ) and a few weeks later they saw him still kicking . Tough animals . Never will I take that shot again . I was pretty down about it for a while . Lesson learned
On a very cold day, I took a bad shot on a buck, lung shot. Gave him an hour, followed the very little blood trail i had, and 50 yards from where I shot him, he was laying on the ground dead. I went to pick him up, when I touched him, he jumped up and ran off. I almost crapped in my pants! Looked for him for 3 days, never recovered
@@virtuaguyverify man, that’s a brutal experience. Especially since there’s nothing more you could have done. Sorry to hear that
Wow stud bucks and heartbreaking end! Great video!
Man what a bummer but 500+ yard is not a easy shot. That’s part of the game but be positive Nate. You’ll get em next time
he hit the buck. but didnt persue
500 yds is no big deal, don't think Nate is a very good shot, seen him miss before
With correct data, a 500yd shot on deer sized game is not a difficult shot at all.
Better luck next year Nate! Everyone will miss sooner or later.
Two public land trophies on video awesome job. Seen a few in those units but nothing quite as big as those two.
Good work, SY.
Dang. Good job on glassing but a miss. Rather miss then would an animal. But this just comes to show, practice practice practice. Practice makes perfect and preps you for such hunts.
I definitely subscribed. Great content!!!
Awesome video!!!
That one's going to hurt but that's hunting. Awesome video
Great hunting guys! Sorry you couldn't kill that buck, but it was a great hunting trip for sure. Beautiful weather!
I've watched all of your hunting adventures and really enjoy all of it. You could call the name of your hunts, "Real Life Outdoors with Samong" That is exactly what you bring, not always successful but always an adventure...real life. It's a blessing to see you preserving this moments of you and your family and hunting buddies. And you give credit to God for His provision . Please keep it going. On another note have you considered using a blow gun for Grouse and other small game. Wouldn't have to wait until the afternoon. Tim Wells has some awesome vids. Just a thought, Blessings my friend!
Unlucky, but at least you had an awesome experience and learned a lot
Good hunt. Keep your head up.
Some my favorite hunting videos too watch ya notice everything in the woods I'm the same way .. gotta notice your surroundings .. you'll be one the better hunting show on UA-cam
Happened on this this morning and in the podcast there is a great discussion on what is good for hunting and the animals and how posts on social media can be positive or negative for hunting
Yeah, it's always a discussion. But, should I only show the times where we are successful or keep it real?
Viewing that bullet travel thru the air is awesome!!
What an amazing opportunity well done even though it didn’t end with meat it was really fun to watch
Cool Video
Super honest well done
Good hunt guys
Great job. I love the videos. I live in republic wash and like to see local success in our hills.
Washington has some great hunting opportunities. We get one deer tag and that’s either mule deer which is a short season draw tag or a general season blacktail. There are very few whitetail and the tag is hard to get. One elk tag up to 2 bear and 2 Turkey one cougar
What are you talking about? The east side is crawling with whitetail and it’s a general season over the counter tag. You obviously live close to Seattle. Come to Spokane and I’ll give you a map of thousands of acres of public land that are infested with whitetail. I literally see 3 new roadkills everyday
@@vadenk4433 sorry I forgot to mention i live in Oregon lol. I was describing Oregon hunting opportunity compared to Washington. We get one deer tag. This guys gets mule deer, whitetail, doe tags. It’s amazing.
No, you get one tag in Wa, you can hunt Blacktail, Mule deer,or Whitetails, he's hunting the late whitetail season in NE WA, which is the only rifle season that let's hunters get a shot at the rut
Better luck next time kids! Great job on this!
Brother,, looks like we're I Hunt,, next to Colville,,👍🙏🦊🤞🤫
Nice video Nice team hunt
Nice video!
Was Nate dialing for elevation, or a fixed reticle in the scope? What power scope?
Pretty exciting 👍
Nice bro. Don’t hunt but this video got me hooked
Wait til you start hunting. You will go out, day in day out, freezing your butt off, for meat and that giant trophy buck. Some seasons you won't even get a shot off. Then there are different animals you can hunt, and the adventures begins again
Congrats , what equipment u using
GREAT JOB SAMONG, YOU ARE ALWAYS SMILING NO MATTER THE OUTCOME , YOU REMIND ME OF ME FOR SURE
heads up always next season.
Nice job with video and commentary.
Very great idea for hunting pack portable stove, never know we can get lost, especially just for our survival
What phone mount are you using for your spotting scope?
Always next year bro, awesome hunting as always.
Why didn't you take the shot when he was bedded down?
Looking for some vortex binoculars. Any suggestions? What you rolling with over there
I have been using the Razor UHD 10x50 binos for 2 seasons, but I used the Diamondback 10x42 for 4 years prior. It really just depends on your budget and what you want.
If you are set on Vortex, order from EuroOptic.com and use code SY10 to save some money on any Vortex Optics.
Anybody that has never Had that happen has not hunted Much,, it WILL happen if you Hunt, sometimes it don't matter what you do, it's just not In The cards,, great Buck,, I Just Took a 5×6 that look like his twin
, One of the Top Two Biggest Bucks of my 50 years of whitetail Hunting
Bummer. So close! Next time you’ll get one of them.
that doe was huge!
What caliber were you's using
600 isn’t to far if you’re comfortable and know what you’re rifle is doing in those conditions. Keep on with the videos young man
Good hunt
Monster bucks! Wow great footage man.
Shooter needs to practice more at shooting at those ranges. Good luck next year man.
Hey Samong, I was noticing that when you try to relax from the adrenalin that you take a relaxing breath but you blow it out and it sounds somewhat like a deer warning blow. Might not want to do that very loud.
Yup,that's a spot I hunt pretty regular.
I'm 100%.
I'll see ya there next year for sure.
Been hunting that spot for years ,so I recognize it pretty easily.
I'd appreciate it if you keep it to yourself. I have game cam pics of that buck.
Definitely wolves and cougar back there. Hunting is a bit better on the high rd ,you bypassed at the beginning of the video ,where you seen the doe ,and your standing at the intersection of the high and low rd. That should give you enough info. That I do know that spot.
I've used the same spots for glassing too.
High rd about 3 mile back is pretty good glassing spot as well.
Still time for archery season on the west side :)
Excellent year round sportsman channel. I love the hunting content format that is successfully unique. Absolutely great cinematography. What was Nate's rifle setup, caliber, scope? A great lesson for us all. Thank you and happy hunting and fishing.
Best UA-cam hunter in the game! @meateater need to take notes 💯
Invest in a G7 range finder from gunwerks.
Nice hunt I live in in washington to hunting and fishing its we fish for Sturgeon to but out of a boat maby we could go sometime
My hat goes off to u western rifle hunters because all that mil rad and moa stuff I’ve tried to understand and it’s just beyond me I can’t understand it at all
Failure sharpens wisdom.
Let’s go!
I assume this is in Free Washington??
What GMU
Almost… almost
Awesome video as always! One question, how do guys decide who take the shot when there’s a buck show up?
Samong filled his tag already I believe.👍🏻
@@mattscoinsnstuff5686 bruh they left a harvest injured. that aint good
@@nyalkahloon7191 When?
From recent videos it depends, if both have tags, whoever spots shoots
@@mattscoinsnstuff5686 at 52:20. They hit the upper body of the buck. 54:40 slow motion it shows a hit
Can you buy a moose tag??
What caliber was Nate shooting ?
He is shooting a .308 Winchester
Hint... When walking turn sound off.
Great Video
wow no good shoot brother big deer from usa mn
Wow sweet English or did you have a stroke
You listen to county music in already 3 seconds in lol
As a fellow PNW hunter and fisherman based in Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington I LOVE your videos.
But damn your buddy needs to spend some time at the range. Those are pretty big misses from just 460. He has no business taking those shots if he is missing by that much. Id say at the moment 200 should be that guys max.
Tell nate he needs a new rifle lol 😆
Are you ever concerned that some locals might recognize your spots and blow them out? I’ve been considering filming my hunts but don’t want to post them and have everyone take over my secret spots 😂. I would be interested to hear how you feel about that!
May the better hunter win?
I've been following you for years, Caleb 😉
400+ 500+... Is a poke. Doable but you need real trigger time to under your belt. Go buy a case or 2 of ammo and get your revenge on him next year confidently 👍
Why did you wait until the Buck stood up to shoot him. Is it unethical to shoot a deer if he’s sleeping?
We know who to blame
Only 900 yards wow 🤣
Hes a spork
✌
Why don't you guys leave spotter at same spot to keep eyes on deer, shooter moves, then spotter follows once shooter is positioned or better yet shooter just shoot?
👍
Is your buddy shooting with his left hand and using his left cheek? 👀 lefties lol 😝
Good advice you mentioned about not practicing enough. Very sound. I practice these distances a good deal and up to 400yd offhand without bipod and rests. I have a real shooting sling as well. Practicing like that haw made me much more capable and I don't always need to hunt and peck for a position to go bipod prone or find a rest. At 200 or 300 yd it's not hard to just hold and hit pretty easy. 400yd is more difficult unsupported but with a bipod 400 500 is easy peasy.
Win some, lose some... Get the next one...
