12 days solo in the backcountry is a win in itself. Mental games play with you hard. Congrats on staying and grinding it out.
This is by far my new favorite for hunting and fishing videos. The work you put into your channel is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I love how this hunt ranged from being between a sow and her cub, listening to a cat murder a deer, and being so bored you start naming the squirrels 😂 Great video, as always 👍.
Nothing like one on one with the wild bro. Having a companion is great but the feeling you get solo is on another level. Do it every year. So fulfilling.
12 days of solo hunting is quiet an accomplishment, a harvest would be the icing on the cake. Anyhow, awesome mental dedication and content.
You did a fantastic job of storytelling through video. I think everyone who watched the episodes appreciated them. What you accomplished out there took strength. Eventually patience kills. Good job, for what it's worth, I'm proud of you.
I hunted the same buck for six years here in western Iowa named him "Top Hat". The last three years I watched as regressed but still remained the king. One cold December evening and I let the Knight muzzle loader and Barnes sabot put in some work and now Top Hat watches me write this from his perch on my wall. My point is you are not alone in your obsession and love of this great sport. Thanks very much for sharing.
Trophy hunters are clowns sir
I love your trips. Hunters no how to suffer. You are a saint in my book. You have patience. Your labors are hard. Thank you for sharing.
I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a hunting series more, that didn’t involve a kill, than your last two videos. Nice work, really, your interaction with the viewer is what makes these work.
My brother in behalf of me and my family I Thanku for sharing this adventure u show the sheer emotion of when u were wet and cold and let me say 12 days proved a lot of within yourself as well brother.Strength, wisdom, and simply your sanity was all tested and u passed and yes I’m sure u had some down moments that were not seeing ,but at the end U prevailed and yes Boomer 6 evaded the arrow, but u learned so much about yourself as well. All in the name of the great man upstairs my friend.Until next time Thanku
I've been hunting and fishing for 54 years I enjoy your videos almost as much as being in the field. Keep up the good work and never lose your passion for hunting, fishing, and just being in the outdoors. Remember this, with big game hunting the fun is over when you pull the trigger, all the rest is work. You may not bring an animal home every hunt but you're building a lifetime of memories so you can always look back in your mind and relive those wonderful days and nights in God's Creation. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the whole family.
13:50 this is the kind of stuff that hunters and outdoorsman love, but when you try to tell a non-hunter they look at you like you're crazy
ok, I was getting so bored with all the archery-related youtube videos, however yours was different. The effort. The explanations and positive talk. The patience, and the way you seem to understand and respect nature impressed me to the point that I really wanted you to get your elk. Thanks for the video and for keeping it real. Good luck in 2024!
Rob
Brother these were the first two videos I watched of yours. I really really liked them, you're intelligent, well spoken, you show the terrain and surroundings well, I really like the information tidbits on the screen and you just know what you're doing!! I will be going back and watching all your other vids. Great job homie 💪💪🤘🤘
Great positive attitude and great footage of some cool animals!!! Love the sleeping squirrel 👍
was waiting for it to fall down - saw that hunting once
Great effort man and sometimes the hunt itself is better than just putting down the animal. Great work. The experience the dos and don’t are great lessons for one that hasn’t been out there. Thank you!
That is a tough season man....one spot hunting takes mental strength for sure! Really tough on the ground with movement and scent. I have had great success at a wallow but in a tree stand and even then usually only morning or afternoon and not both cause it takes a toll on a body to just sit. Appreciate you sharing!!
looks like a tough spot i agree id be up a tree...
Nice work. The mental games you go through on a 12 day hunt are no joke. Way to stick it out.
Glad I waited til the end to hear your details of Boomer 6, the "smoking stick".. you're a bright fellow.
Thank you for sharing
Awesome adventure thanks for taking the time to video it for us. Couple of ideas for the future... take some 1 inch Gorilla duct tape along, wrap a couple feet around a leg of your tripod if you don't want to carry a small roll. It can be used to fix many things like the holes in your screen and tent fabric. Thanks again and way to gut it out.
Although, I moved away from Washington 2 years ago, I still follow your channel. I remember when you first got started. So proud of the channel growth and seeing your growth in the Lord a well. Keep it up Samong!
Absolutely beautiful, well done. Thank you for the time and effort of taking us with you.
Try steaming a cup of rice and pack a can of gravy. Canned gravy. Looks like a Campbells soup can. You can use a can punch.
Bring black pepper, dried onions, and dehydrated peas to add into it.
😁
These were the first two videos I’ve watched of you and it’s not taking anymore to subscribe. I entered a draw for an elk hunt here in AZ later this year. If selected it’ll be my first ever hunt (doing it with experienced buddies.)
Damn brother, was really rooting for you on this one 12 straight days is mental torture and I give you props! Keep it up man your doing great! I’m not sure when rut starts with elk but maybe that’s why he didn’t show up
It was just the opposite for him I am sure. he was fine except when he got wet and That will kill your spirits real quick, because if the temps suddenly drop, you could find yourself in a life and death situation. Alwasy take half a dozen large plastic heavy duty lawn bags in your pack, to store things inside of it needed and a small 5x8 tarp. Only on one of my solo hunts I got wet, just like him, and I said never again.
Great videos Samong. I just watched both parts and you did a great job documenting! 12 days is definitely a tough adventure but so worth it!
Great quality video, I think you did an awesome job with this hunt, hunting archery solo is unspeakably hard. You gave yourself a really good chance if he would have come in. It's about the only way it could have happened. Keep at it, you will win in the end. Jay from Pa.
Boomer 6 or no Boomer 6, you have developed some impressive skills, not the least of which includes videography. Watching both Part 1 and 2 was a real pleasure. Hunting at its finest! Many thanks! Boomer Too
Great series. Was rooting for you. Hoping you’d get Boomer 6. Keep up the good work. Great content 👏🏼
your determination and knowledge is amazing man. love this content. Keep it up man! You will get him!
Your videos are amazing Samong. You got big balls going into the dark woods by yourself with mountain lions and bears all around.
great job for hanging in there you got what it takes
Good job with the hunt, dude. It doesn't happen every time, but it's all good. Awesome job on the story. Best wishes out there!
This needs to get his silver play button loving this!
That area and wallow sure looks like the area I hunted for several years with my brother. The trees in the wallow match what I remember, but I may have forgotten.
. I have never seen a sleeping squirrel. Fantastic wildlife video footage of it. Welcome to bow hunting elk. You get to do a lot of hunting.
Not gonna lie after hearing what you heard in the first video I would've left and won't return until gun season but 12 days solo and recording is more than any season hunter could do...thanks for the videos bro
Amazing videos, these were the first 2 I've watched from you and I will definitly check out more
The patience is unbelievable. I couldn’t do it. Good job.
You are living my dream bro. Once i get my masters i hope to have this much freedom. Good 12 day backcountry.
this dude is so likeable and easy to watch. I really dig this dude, and I don't even hunt big game. Instant sub
Bought an EXO mountain bag cause of your review series. Continued watching for great hunting content. Love seeing other people out there on solo backpack public land hunts; much respect. Big love from BC Canada.
Great effort in both the hunt and video. I do that same hunt here in ID every year. Drew a great rifle tag last year, backpacked the entire to week season. Saw some nice bulls, had a couple in my lap, enjoyed every minute of and didn't pull the trigger. Keep up the good work!
Was waiting for this one!
You're a brave man. The Sow and cubs is what nightmares are made of, lol. What a situation to be in! Yikes. Great video.
Great videos bud… I live in Indiana and went on my first elk hunt in Colorado last year… we spent 5 days in the back country and never seen nothing but mule deer lol… good luck next year buddy👍 I hope you get him.
GREATLY enjoyed both part 1 and 2. ADMIRE your tenacity in going after Boomber 6. Will be praying for you that you get him in 2024.
That first part when you got that crazy noise that is some of the best audio I've ever heard of the hairy man
Outstanding, hats off to you sitting for 12 days. Looking forward to next years series.
Way to hang in there champ! Tough luck but that's hunting! Next time!
Great show. You are one tough cookie. I have truck camped for hunts for years, but never backpacked to a hunt. I would have needed coffee.
Wow!! Awesome man!! Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Enjoyed every second
Love every second. Thank you!! Keep on bro....keep on!!!
Good closing and description of your 2024 hunt. Your dedication to the sport and documenting activity makes you a top guy in my book. I'm 66 and a boomer makes me laugh how you named him, Maybe you can get over to Wyoming and get wet and discouraged like most solo hunters and yell at the motorized assault vehicles used in the woods .Last year the motors started at4 am to warm up then haul ass everywhere by 6 am everyone and all animals are gone . but the animals are trotting away and high up till the snows of November. Are you going to make any scouting trips this summer and film them . I like your videos see ya.
They say every shot you don’t take, you miss 100% of the time. Great effort and I hope 2024 is the year!
part 2 baby!
This video just popped up on my screen and it is great video. This would be a time to have folding wood stove with a tent fitting. Lonewolf 902 has numerous videos camping in hot tent.
When I camp for more than a few days I bring a solar charger and just let it sit in the sun throughout my slack time and it works great
Cheers to the effort dude. I just got back from 1 week solo in Utah for buck only to miss (rifle)... heads up n get back after it
I always tell myself when the going gets tough, “You’re not a good hunter, but you’re willing to wait longer than everybody else out here.” I was wrong!
You did yourself proud sir. That was quite the hunt!
Well done and thank you for sharing! Good luck in 2024
Love your content. Black tail/ Rosie hunter here on the Olympic Peninsula. Did my Elk hunting in the Clearwater this year. My wife got her first bull (4x4) and I had 2 encounters with a big 5x5 and didn't close the deal :(. Got my first bobcat though! Keep up the good fight Samong, you are a class act.
Great job amigo! Hunting hard.
Nice video man, I would suggest no food ever or cooking in the tent. Depending on where you are soap, toothpaste they can all attract mice and bears.
Excellent videos of a hunt. Man, I was rooting for you. Looking for next year’s video.
Watched both vids...impressed to the 9z bud. 😁👍💯
You need to upgrade to a hot tent set up. When the weather is miserably cold, wet and windy... the best escape to recharge and dry off is to spend a half a day a tent with a raging fire in a stove to warm up and dry everything out.
Great video! I grew up camping in Canada and the BWCA. Hanging your food bag that close to the trunk of the tree may help for rodents but it will not prevent a bear from ripping it down. 12 days soloing will cleanse the soul.
No shot I would have the will to hike back in there after going into town on the 9th day. Savage
Very impressive dude. I’ve enjoyed watching his adventure
Loved the video. My wife said the napping squirrel looked like he was praying lol
I was rooting for you to get it! always next year bro. Goodluck!
bro- that bear encounter was amazing. Well done.
Good stuff Samong!!! great content
wow 12 days on your own filming hunting and tryng to stay focused I appreciate your dedication Samong true outdoorsman your vids inspire me to push father. headed to eat wa to bird hunt see if i can keep up with you . hunt on bro
Enjoyed your videos of your 12 day hunt…next time👍
Great series👍🏽 I always pack a tiny roll of duct tape for those little rips and everything else that it’s great for.
Really well done videos! I don't even hunt but I enjoy your content.
Thanks for sharing the story! I hope you get a crack at boomer next year 👍
all good keep it up!! Love your videos !!!
Brother, what a great video. I’ve lived everything you went through and more. Thanks for your hard work and educational content. It may be hard for you to imagine, but I got to a point when I just liked them more alive than I did their backstraps on my charcoal. Which, as I type this, sounds completely impossible. Regardless, legaly hunting is among the purest kind of living.
I forgot to add, that hanging your food bag on a branch that extends much further out from the trunk of the tree may be something you might like to consider mainly because Bears are so good at climbing up trunks, but hesitant to crawl out on weaker limbs.
awesome thanks man!
Ooof that second sow coming it was nerve wracking
That sound you heard was a Sasquatch stubbing his toe. I've made similar sounds. 😂
Loved the video
glad you had that pistole
Way to stick it out! Putting in the hours
Good story about Boomer. Thanks, man. That was enjoyable.
Nice content awesome stuff u got goin on
Surprised you didnt fix up those holes in the tent with some tape or something.
More productive then my season. I didn’t hunt at all. Only shot my bow twice all year. I was coaching football. I had no time to hunt. I didn’t even scout at all either.
Great 2 part series! Unit 113 maybe? Haha
Man ! You’re in the PNW we need to get together !!
Great video Sy!! You gave it your best and that’s all you can do. 2024 boomer 6 better watch out!
That cheeseburger would have tasted sooooooooo good 😂😂
Hey bro I like your contents especially this one with the bear and cubs saw the pistol you brought out was that a p365 I would be scared if the momma bear charged will a 9mm caliber have enough stopping power to stop it from
Charging?
Thanks for another awesome video bro, I used to live in Kent, WA but never hunt. Would love to go hunting with you bro.
You could have started a fire to warm up and to dry your cloths
