    "Ride upgrades don't buy upgrades" it doesn't make sense to me to increase horsepower on a bike that's already a weapon unless you are riding past the limits of the motorcycle you better off putting your money into suspension and Tires and Brakes rather than the engine. But, it's definitely Riders Choice and that is one beautiful machine buddy

      Flying Lap Productions they did a remap for the exhaust and the power went up

      The R1M needs a remap from stock due to the poor fuelling for Euro 4 and the terrible throttle mapping in power 1, but otherwise hell yes, it has enough power ! better off spending money on the brakes and suspension first !

    Stock rear spring is going to be quite light for a 272 lb rider at pace ! interested to see the follow up comp & rebound settings after spring changes :-)

      If you don't push the bike hard enough and don't use all the travel, you choose springs that meet your needs and ability. Sometimes stock springs might work, most times they need changing. Evaluation first creates data for expenditure in regards to prioritizing.

    Sir, I am planning to buy a Yamaha YZF R1M 2018 edition. I am 5'5" feet tall and weight is 70KG. What changes are needed to be done from the stock superbike to make an overall comfortable safest ride possible in every road condition? I eagerly waiting for your reply. Thank you.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  6 років тому

      For your weight and height, I would suggest a much softer spring for the shock (7.0kg/nm) and think about some .85kg/nm fork springs. This is based on the fact that you would be an intermediate track rider and ride reasonably aggressively in the twisties. Remember that ability can easily require firmer springs than weight suggests, so please be thoughtful prior to any spring purchase.

      Can I get flat footed with that adjustment or nearly flat footed or I need to lowering the bike with how much inch to ride the safest or shave the seat to reduce some inches?

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  6 років тому

      If the sag adjustment does not get your feet flat, you need to lower the front and rear of the bike simultaneously to get the seat height you need.

    Anyone know what seat that is?

    Dave, I have a Ducati Xdiavel. I saw July 14/15 you will be in Shelton WA which is close to me. I know this is a track day event but would it be possible to ride down and have you set my suspension up? If so what do you charge? thanks.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  6 років тому

      Absolutely. $40 for the set up.

    Did Changing offset change handling

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  6 років тому

      Changing any offset will change handling both for steering head and swing arm pivot. The purpose is to get the bike set up the way you want it for turn in with steering head and then swing arm angle based on engine power and rider ability.

    Who makes the cf tank cover shroud?

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  6 років тому

      Great question - and I am sorry to say that I did not talk to the owner about the CF on his bike and where he sourced it from. I may see him at the Moto America Sonoma event and if so, I will ask.

    Hahah I had to do a double take on whether or not I heard correctly about Blockchain technology! Dave, in all honestly it would be a great idea to start accepting Bitcoin and Litecoin.

      No one has ever asked for that payment option hence not having it set up.

      Dave Williams, editor, replying here. The trouble with crypto currency is they're all still in a volatile commodity stage of existence. They're about as easy to use for money as gold is. They're not actually money yet. Yes, yes, I hear the advocates screaming, "blasphemer!" even now. I'm all for them, don't misunderstand. I'm all about busting the government monopoly on money, but right now they're about as useful in regular American commerce as the Euro. This is the difference between "currency" and "money". A currency is a commodity like gold or corn in the economy where it is not money (the Euro in America for example). All money is a currency, but not all currencies are money. Bottom line: it's still too costly to get in and out of crypto currencies. This concludes your unsolicited ECON 101 lesson for today.

    • @shwackthenoobsac
      @shwackthenoobsac 6 років тому

      A number of payment processors can credit you with your preferred currency instantly. It only opens up more payment options for customers and requires zero volatility risk on your part because you never have to hold or exchange a single coin. Ready to use plugins exist for all of the major e-commerce shops like Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, etc. Another added benefit of a transaction conducted like this is that there's no risk of chargebacks. Major players like the American Precious Metals Exchange, Microsoft, NewEgg, and any train station in Switzerland are dealing with these new currencies. This concludes your cryptocurrency lesson for the day :)

    • @shwackthenoobsac
      @shwackthenoobsac 6 років тому

      Money has to have intrinsic value; currency only represents money. Bitcoin and Litecoin are the currencies used to write data to the public, decentralized and immutable ledgers, the utility of which provides intrinsic value. Many people who claim Bitcoin and Litecoin to be "money" don't understand the difference between money and currency. I only refer to them as currency, just like fiat.

    Dude needs to lose a few pounds around the midsection. That will increase HP more than a ECU flash. Serious riders must be serious about riding.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  4 роки тому +1

      Dave Williams, editor, replying here. Everybody buys horsepower if they can afford it, even skinny little riders and engineers in MotoGP. Not even Petrux said, "Don't worry guys, I'll just drop a few pounds." Serious riders obviously do both, but every rider takes the HP if they can afford it. Otherwise we'd all race scooters.
