Skinny Puppy - Smothered Hope - Live in Montreal, April 25th, 2023

Electro-industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy performing Smothered Hope at the MTelus in Montreal, Quebec. The crowd was packed with elder goths and old school rivetheads for the Final Tour of the band. The band played a nice variety of songs from their extensive discography. There were less stage theatrics and live horror elements than some of their first tours but the Kevins still had the energy and passion in them despite being in their sixties now. The show felt more personal once all costumes were off and it felt like the crowd leveled up as well once they played the songs in the encore. It was heartwarming to see Ogre’s wide smile and enthusiasm when singing the songs in the encore. People in the balcony had the privilege to see cEvin’s full rig since we could only see the top of his face and his legs when we were on the floor. If this is really the end of touring for Skinny Puppy, they closed this chapter on a very high note.

Yep. I was in the front on the left and could clrealy see Ogre's big smile, and I, too, really loved the part without his mask. They were having an awesome time just as us, and I will remember this show forever.
