thanks for sharing. not that it matters but it would make more sense to use the side view (from photo) to vector/point trace etc. rhino 7 has a long way to go still.
Hi Kevin! Thanks for your comment. Command keys are shown on the screen in this tutorial and all our other tutorials. It's shown in the upper right corner of Rhino viewport. You can see for example in this video on 5:12
Thanks for this great tutorial! But here I would like to ask that can a SubD object not to be turned into a polysurface after trimming or splitting it? So I can still edit the object with SubD tools. Thanks
Yes, you could, but that isocurve's look would depend on how you created the surface at the first place, so sometimes you would not get a straight line like you would if you draw it from the top.
What a wonderful video...!!! Thank you. (you should commit a bit more on the tool you are using, it would really help us). Thank you again... I'm subscribing...!!!
Hey Edgar, Thanks! Glad you like the tutorial! If you'd like to take this a step further and have a complete step by step approach in learning Rhino and Grasshopper that includes our personal coaching, you may want to check out our Rhino for Architects 2.0 Course! Please reach out and send me an email at dusan@howtorhino.com if you're interested and I'll tell you a lot more about it there and share the course platform with you as well! Cheers! :)
hey dusan will you make a separate video for rhino 7 subD new features for your followers asap!!we are very eager to know about rhino subd functions and features!! i already used sketch up subD its quite interesting and yeah its time to know about rhino subD!!
Sure, well the tools are still in development, so there's not much that can be done yet. However, McNeel is focusing on doing the backend stuff as it's supposed to be done. There will be more once this tools is stable and more useful and available for the public :D
Hey Arman, Unfortunately, no, SubD tools are specifically in development for Rhino 7 version. However, there are some plugins at the market today that can do similar things. The best one is T-splines, but it cannot be used anymore, the substitution for that one is Clayoo, but I don't think it is as good as T-splines, and often times it actually crashes.
@@HowtoRhino yep thats right i use tspline but just in rhino 5 it is great if we can use subd in new versions :( actully rhino 6 how ever thank you my friend
Thanks, very straight forward tutorial. You made Rhino look so simple.
You're welcome! Glad you think so :D
Around 5:23 seconds when he is creating polysurface objects with the split command, mine isn't working. anyone know why?

Thanks Loai! I appreciate it :D
Awesome tutorial, which plugin is that your are using to change views?
There's no plugin, I just changed the Display mode in Rhino.otpions. You can create your own Display modes by going to Options / View / Display modes
Thanks for this great tutorial!

www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/wip
welcome back : D
haha I'm not going anywhere! Thanks Kamal :D
For the curtain wall, you could extract an isocurve inside the surface and just extrude that curve without having to draw it, right?
Yes, you could, but that isocurve's look would depend on how you created the surface at the first place, so sometimes you would not get a straight line like you would if you draw it from the top.

which one is better plugin of rhino tspline or sub d ?
SubD. Tsplines doesn't work anymore with Rhino 6 :)
@@HowtoRhino can you tell which one was actually more better tspline or sub d?
@@faisalazamkhan3240 SubD in my oppinion, because you can use it with all other Rhino commands. You're not limited to T-spline commands only.
where i can fivd subdplan?
Make sure to have Rhino 7 installed and they will show up in the toolbars area :)
Is it like clayoo ?
No, it's SubD Tools in Rhino 7
Great tutorial but to fast command typing. It required a lot of pausing to see what you typed. Otherwise very well explained!
could you do the Linked Hybrid by Steven Holl?
Hey Nelson! Great suggestion. Thanks, this kind of tutorial would be a better option for some kind of 1-2h long webinar, but I'll have it on my list.

Is SubD the same thing as T-Splines?
No, SubD is a new modeling tool for Rhino 7, T-splines was a plugin for Rhino that no longer works.
How to Rhino I mean like same objective?
@@aidenkashi6110 Yes, the purpose is the same :D
