Amazing tutorial! At around 4:04 you doing the ProjectToCPlane part. However for me it is not possible to project the object. It says "unable to project 1 object". I'm an absolute beginner in Rhino so I really don't know what causes this. What do I do wrong?

Go to Rhino options > Modeling Aids > Cursor ToolTips ... then check the Distance box. you can check other boxes if you need them too.

Is it possible to make 2D and extract those iso lines from the subD into the 2D drawing?
Yes... it's almost possible. In make2d panel, do check Tangent edges.
