Amazing, thank you. For me a classic example of Rhino's breadth and depth. I've been modeling for years and this is new for me. I'll be installing Paneling Tools for sure!
Firstly fantastic tutes, informative and easy to follow. Almost couldn't get the 'VariableOffsetSurface' to work but I changed the tolerance to '1'. I think because I'm working in millimetres and with large building scales.
It would be huge if you could give a tutorial showing how to make chain mail...2D....and then show how to pattern it on complex surfaces....like a chain mail sleeping bag. Or, which videos have you already made that I can check out that would help me to do that? Thanks in advance. These videos are great!
Hello, trying this in Rhino 7 and hitting CRTL while adjusting gumball enables gumball relocation (does not isolate movement in z and perform extrusion) Ay advice would be appreciated!
Hi ! Great tutorial ! How did You get the "Paneling Tool" in the command line ? I can access the commands only by "WINDOW - Active Tool Palettes - ....... ". I find the way through pull down menu more intuitive. I have Rhino6 for Mac.
Where is all this stuff in Rhino 7? They’ve replaced the “Panel Tools” option with just a “panels” option. And I can’t find any of the tools this video demonstrates. I typed in “ptSurfaceDomainNumber” in the command bar, but it doesn’t recognize it.
Hello, can you help me find the right functions in the newest version's interface? I think some options from the top toolbar disappeared and I cannot start with basics.
I have a problem with the offset faces border, any number i write in distance it does not offset any surface border nor make a hole, it just doesnt do anything. Any help?
Thank you for the great video! I am not able to use the control key as you do. For example when you extrude the diamond curves it moves my gumball tool instead of extruding the curves. Another example, when you place the point on the surface by pressing control, more osnap options appear but that is not the case for me, I do not see the on surface option.
Hi, It is really helpful to understand the paneling tools. Although i have a few doubts while using paneling tool. I need a "custom 3D" pattern on a free form surface. I followed the basic steps to get the result. The end result is, I got the desired pattern i wanted. However there was a problem. After the pattern is finished it created many individual single elements. Even though i tried doing "Union operation" which are not combining with each other. . I tried to convert it into .STEP file and try in another software but still they are not combining. Is there any way to make them as a single body after paneling or Is there any option to do that while using paneling tools? Thank you and waiting for your feedback.
Hi! truly amazing show of the panelling tools, with a trimmed surface like a planar surface how would be your aproach? Thanks Again. PD I´ve just 3d printed on a Prusa I3 Mk3s the camboo pavilion following your tutorial from parametric house, sadly can´t post any photo here where should I share it?
Thanks Yaen For trimmed surfaces it depends on your model...if you can resconstruct it with pure Nurbs then you solved the problem if not see if you can convert it to multiple nurbs surfaces and start paneling
Sir plz tell how to project or flow and object to a particular surface perfectly. I use smash and flow on surface but object flowed not perfact.?? Just tell the command i will try plz.
Hiii, I used your link to download the paneling tools but when I click on the "triangle" option i dont get all of the options that you do. Is there something I can do?
hey!! Has anyone out there followed this tut using mac vs5? I can't find how to create the grid onto a surface! looking through the tools using the pt command comes up blank..

So great video but if you slow down your speaking is more better. Some times is not easy to catch up what you said .I think you can separate it 4 parts will be more easy to understand
There is a link in the description where you can get it for free. Download the file, extract it, drag and drop in Rhino, follow the upcoming instructions, finish the installation, restart Rhino and there you go.
Rhino Grasshopper if you wanted to put the pattern on multiple surfaces stitches together, this plugin would pattern uniformly across all stiched surfaces?? Thanks!!
@@surf2553 No I thought you mean morph on multiple surfaces... but i guess you have a brep (polysurface) and you want to put the pattern on it. So in this case you don't have any however there is always a clever idea to change your brep to a single surface
@@ParametricHouse Yeah, i have been looking at how to do that. I havent found a good way yet. Because the type of work I do involves many patches (polysurf whatever), so it is always complex breps that I am looking to get uniform patterns on.
