I still prefer the Dark Forces Saga for making your player characters become the Star Wars Legends equivalents of infamous magical girl Homura Akemi. Force Speed and good old guns and grenades are no joke.

@@jayburn00 Well, there's also any iteration of Jaden Korr for Jedi Academy, plus Mara Jade in the Mysteries of the Sith expansion for the first Jedi Knight.
The Battle of Mon Cala really sealed the deal for the Rebellion, they got a veteran commander and fleet out of it.
And the best part? Those ships are one of the best ever built in the Galaxy even if they were converted civilian buildings. And the shield generators that are extremely powerful since they have the ability to transfer power to Shields and even has Shield layers, meaning that there are multiple Shield generators that produce different layers of shields to provide Extra Protection. You gotta hand it to the fish people, they made some of the best Capital ships ever produced
What’s cool about the galactic civil war, is that it shows how without much of Jedi, the galaxy had to rise up to save itself against the darkness.
The rescue of rahm kota and the attack on kamino are two of My favorite battles in all of star wars the beginning of the rebellion
As far as I'm concerned, these Legends battles are the true start of the Rebellion

I love how Rahm Kota, unlike other Jedi mentors of the protagonist, is not someone stoic and the voice of reason, but a broken and bitter guy who, like his disciple, suffers from enormous emotional instability. That said, poor Starkiller sure hated the fact that the blind Jedi who would accompany him wouldn't be a wise master like Kreia or a love-needy bombshell like Visas Marr, but a cranky drunk like Kohta.😅
Well tbf Kota was not like that until Starkiller blinded him. Prior to this, he was very much a stoic, reasonable, level headed yet brave Jedi. And the reason he became even more bitter is that the man who blinded him, Starkiller, then dragged him around the galaxy as a semi-hostage forcing him to teach him.
I agree tho that it’s a nice change than the usual patient ever doting master, and adds a deeper level of both character development as well exploring the concept of redemption (both for Starkiller and Kota himself)
General Tagge: "And until this battle station is fully operational, we are vulnerable! The Rebel Alliance is too well equipped! They're more dangerous than you realize."
Admiral Motti: "Dangerous to your Starfleet, Commander, not to this battle station."
Moments later... "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed."
It's a bummer we never got The Force Unleashed 3 to tell the story how Vader escaped Rebel custody
I agree. But, it is Vader. If he’s caught, we all know he can get out at anytime he wants.
Actually, TFU 3 was actually gonna be a story about Starkiller and Vader teaming up one last time to stop one of Palpatine's plans.

Juno Eclipse is truly one of the most underrated Star Wars pin-up girls of all time, being on the same level as Mara Jade, Bastila Shan, Darth Talon, Visas Marr and Platt Okefee. I bet captured Rebels wished Juno to be the imperial in charge of their "interrogation" 😏
Something about that black imperial form fitting uniform on a beautiful lady like her really does activate some neurons.
You can actually buy Star Wars WW2 style pinup posters of the “bombshell girls of Star Wars” with Juno on some of them. They are rather well done
It's truly a crime the treatment Ackbar got in the sequels, being killed off-screen just to give his spot to that Winter 2.0....I mean...Holdo. At least Legends gave Ackbar a far better conclusion, in which he dies of old age while fighting the Yuuzhan Vong
Admiral Ackbar is an example of a character who was only killed off because he was important, deep, or well written in a sense or another.
During the Disney Trilogy, he was a brilliant tactician existing before suits, directors and writers who knew nothing or nothing solid about militaristic combat.

Ironic Disney wanted to “promote more diversity” by greatly diminishing a lot of the alien roles and giving their part to humans, albeit female ones. Disney unwittingly made the Empire proud
@@lawrencetalbot8346 I don’t know how strong the argument for the inclusion of alien characters actually is. But their unwillingness to use them does scream different volumes for different things.
Still, what Disney is doing feels more exploitive than anything.
Not every death is heroic in war
Books like The Hutts Gambit, Rebel Dream and The Force Unleashed 1&2 were good examples on how to show the building blocks of the Rebel Alliance
“Rebellions are built on hope”
Bevel Lemelisk is quite a fascinating character, as he was later tried by the New Republic and sentenced to death for building the Death Star and other deadly superweapons. His ending makes me wish Star Wars has its own "Nuremberg" miniseries. He should have also been part of the new canon, a he might have helped Krennic and Jyn's father build the Death Star. Lemelisk perfectly works as someone who creates weapons of mass destruction, not out of sadism or guilt, but out of his simple desire to improve science.
It be very interesting, because we get three different views from multiple scientists who are a part of the Death Star project.
Nuremberg was more or less a sham that brought no real justice to the world. I guess putting one scientist on trial while the rest of the empire walks away free would be equivalent
Both of the Force Unleashed games are just so much fun for some casual destructive fun with the force as you make the Empire run in fear of you.
And the battles there, especially the Battle of Kamino, were amazing. The Battle of Kamino was so much fun, fighting alongside the Rebels, facing against Vader, and unleashing absolute hell on anyone that got in your way. Such an amazing battle.
One of my favorite story arcs to my favorite character. This will always be the Rebellion origns to me. It fills so many plot holes nicely otherwise left in as is like this.
Ironic basically ALL Galens were inclined to be good... kick in Imperial Ass, kick Sith ass, basically join the Rebels and even with barely any memory of her.. follow... the Force... to rescue an resume his relationship with Juno..
Least that was about every successful Starkiller.
It helps George Lucas had a massive hand in the story and personally oversaw the development of the game. It was very much his way of the highway when it came to making it
Apparently Force Unleashed 3 was supposed to have Boba Fett break Vader out, and Vader was supposed to finally kill Star Killer.
Y'know, if Disney had just left the EU as it was and just continued to build off it and integrating stuff like Mando and Andor to fit into it, at least 1/3rd of the headaches they've gotten over the years probably wouldn't exist. And if they'd stuck to George's vision for 7-9, if people hated it, most of it likely would've been aimed at him again.
Yeah, and put Dave Filoni on a tight leash and tell him that he isn't allowed to break the lore.

As much as I love the Clone Wars, it's the best era ever from Star Wars, it's nice to finally be getting videos on the Battles of the Galactic Civil War.
The Rescue of Ackbar was a historical "X-Wing" 90's game mission. You earn a patch for completing this historic mission.

In my head canon, the "clone" in the Force Unleashed II *is* Galen Marek. He had spat in the face of death before when Vader stabbed him in the back, and Vader brought Starkiller back to life. It isn't too far-fetched to think that after the battle in the Death Star, Vader took Starkiller's body to Kamino, revived Marek, cloned him, and lied and manipulated Marek into thinking he was a clone, so that Vader could continue to tighten his hold on Marek.
Now, in the alternate ending of the Force Unleashed II, I believe that evil clone was the only perfected clone of Galen Marek.

Between the Assault on Kamino and the Battle of Scarif, which one is greater as the Rebels' first major victory?
To me, Galen Marek will always be a founder of the Rebellion and his family crest is the true symbol of the Rebellion
You forgot to mention the stalwart commander of the Empire's Kamino garrison and how the very existance of his men depressed him.
General rule of thumb: one has to be an avid multi-genre video gamer so to know and also experience these initial battles... though one may complain that a bunch of them are PC exclusives for good reason.
Still am confused on how Ackbar got rescued though (the X-Wing video game and the Darksaber novel have a radically different sequence of events compared to Empire at War's Rebel campaign), and I still think TFU II is now non-canon apocrypha by way of being an incomplete first half sequel to an already fine standalone title.

I get why canon is way it is, even before the dark times, before the empire(Disney) as have fit media of film, but legends? Legends is my personal lore and always will be.
I think the second force unleashed took place after a new hope, maybe a bit before empire strikes back.

At the beginning of the video you say "Like with any good story, we have to start at the very beginning", but funny enough, Star Wars started with the very middle of the story, and it's arguably one of the best stories.
This isn't anything against you or the video. I just find the expression / attitude that we have to start at the beginning pretty ironic. I will agree though that Star Wars is an outlier when looking at a list of all the good stories out there.
Hum not sure the Force Unleashed is still canon even in the Legend continuity. It poses way too many problems to other events in the continuity.
