    Thanks for the review. I do have a criticism for the format. The video seems like it's 4% showing us what the projector can do, and 96% you showing us you holding the unplugged projector as you talk about it. Couldn't you just talk about it while showing us more of what the projector can do.

      Hey, thanks for watching! I agree entirely, actually. And it's something I'm going to try to balance better in future videos. I had a LOT of trouble getting good video of the star projections... but I went back and gave it another go.

    Very interesting. I'd like to see a future version with more volume control, and maybe one day a projector that can connect to your phone or one that has educational disc's for the kids who want to learn about constellations and planets etc..... Cool start though! Thanks for the review it was very helpful.

    Hey, thanks for the review! Is it possible to turn the stars white instead of blue? I'm looking for a laser galaxy light that doesn't have a too artificial look to it, most times the stars are weirfly blue... Do you have any recommendationsor white stars or is this just a disc thing? Thank you :)

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  2 місяці тому

      Unfortunately, no, you can't adjust any of the colors. I think some manufacturers say they go with green or blue stars because it helps with moods... but I'm pretty sure it's just cheaper/easier than white.

    • @anoraker

      Yeah, I think it's probably a bit too loud for that. It's not much for crickets, but it does have some rain noises.

    2 hours? Im looking to use this as my kids night light, can it stay on longer than 2 hours?

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  7 місяців тому

      By default it turns off after 2 hours. You can either extend this to four hours, or turn the auto-off function entirely. So yes, you could use this as a night light. Just be aware, as with all products like this, that'll cause the discs to fade faster.

    How bright is this thing? Especially with other rgb lights on

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  7 місяців тому +1

      In a dark room, it's plenty bright. However, with the lights on, you won't see anything at all.
      You can adjust both the brightness of the "planets" and the "stars" individually to your preference.

    Are the moving stars supposed to be blue or white? They appear white in the video. The govee I have seems to only have blue stars. Just trying to check if this is normal, since they seem white in videos.

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  6 місяців тому +1

      Hello! Sorry for the confusion here. It's hard to record dark images like this and retain perfect color accuracy. The stars are blue in real life, but show up white in video.

      @@anoraker thank you for the information. Your review was very comprehensive and otherwise gave me an excellent idea of what to expect. I bought it for my wife and she loves it. Your review tipped me in favor of this over more accurate (and expensive)home planetariums despite the shortcomings as it is more dynamic and not just a one trick pony.

    Thanks for reviewing. I'd like to know how this compares to the pococo

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  7 місяців тому

      That's a tough question! The Pococo is less expensive, but comes with fewer discs (just 1 to Govee's 8). However, it has a lot more discs to buy (6 packs are $40 and there's half a dozen options). It's also battery powered, so more portable than Govee's. However, on paper it has a less powerful white wattage and fewer lamp beads. It also doesn't do music of any kind or have app control... meaning you can't control brightness or rotation speed.
      I'd say the Govee is better for choosing how things are displayed and getting a more complete package out of the box. The Pococo is better if you care more about having as many display options as possible... if you don't mind spending more in the long run.

    • @thespencerowen
      @thespencerowen 7 місяців тому

      I like Govee and might go with it even though it is more expensive.
      I’d like to see more videos of what the actual scenes look like. You mention that some are OK, but you didn’t sounds too impressed by them

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  7 місяців тому

      @@thespencerowen It very much depends on the room. Some of the discs actually work better in smaller rooms. The tent photos I took, for instance, those discs look better in tent than they do in living room. The planets and moons are the opposite, look better in larger room than smaller spaces.

      Are Pococo disks are compatible with this Govee projector ? Thanks

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  6 місяців тому +1

      I don't have any to try, but from what I can see of the Pococo disks I don't think they are compatible. They appear to be a different size , and they image is a different shape too.

    Why will the discs fade?

    • @anoraker
      @anoraker  7 місяців тому

      They are essentially a picture. The more you expose a picture to light, the more it will fade over time (paintings too). And the specific purpose here is to shine a very bright light through the pictures.

      Hi there! Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm a newish UA-camr and still learning, and came from a world of written reviews where a few pictures are thrown in with thoughts. So yeah, that was definitely a mistake I made, I should have have shown more, and a few others have mentioned it. I've tried very much to do better with videos that followed this. I can't go back and redo this video, UA-cam doesn't let me add video unfortunately. So I created a short to show all the discs in real time. You can see it here:

      Nah, it's definitely more than a $50 item. It's a pretty good bluetooth speaker and a very bright projector, plus Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/etc. I'd love it if it could cost less. But all the good ones (read, not from a company name that's just a jumble of letters) are in this price range.
