Spotify Already Broke the Car Thing... By Accident
i got the 20m one with 200 leds is it normal to come with some dead leds? 3 are dead with mine - is it worth it to rma it or is this the "norm"
No, you shouldn't expect it to come with any dead LEDs. I'd exchange it personally.
I’ve been doing solder work for 30 years. Just got a pine64. I’m excited to have a new machine that won’t keep me tethered to ac power. Game changer for a service tec.
But if i restart it and clear its database, if ddl come out with a new server i wont be able to connect to it? Also if i cant figure out how to connect Vector that will also cause issues cause i wont be able to use it anymore.
So there's risks in everything but: as it is, DDL did come out with anew servers, and it still requires wiping and starting all over anyway. That's the first step for them too. You have to retrain faces... all. Because these are totally new servers and all previous data was lost. If you can't connect, it'll be exactly where you're at now... he moves around and does little things, but won't respond to voice commands or do anything complicated. You'll have to connect him to something to get his personality back. Whether you do this or trust DDL again is up to you.
2.5 years and 150 hours. Dead. Cheaply made mower. I'm is SWFL so use year round and have a trailer. Just bought a John Deere X350 and I love it. So much power and made better. Thicker blades and deck. I found a guy who gave me $750 for the POS. I got lucky there. He sells parts. So I paid 3K for the Ryobi and 4K for its replacement. I call it the BEAST
I feel your pain. I went this route because I couldn't justify spending another 4K after the initial 3K ... and yeah my lasted about as long as yours. Glad you ended up on something good though!
I swapped the batteries today. I tore the connecter off the blue wire while pushing the tray back in. Used some wire levers and a jumper to reconnect them. Lawnmower turned on and the blades spin no problem. I took the charge port out(be careful as these have thread locker on then and are screwed into a nut that is just in the plastic housing and will spin and then you can't get them out without damaging stuff) and separated the two parts and then drilled out the plastic pin so the new connector will fit. I have some hills that are at a 45% angle. Will be interesting to see if these batteries can handle the current draw with blades on up these hills. Batteries are charging now. Still need to swap out the battery gauge. Will update in the summer once I have had some time to use cutting long grass on my big hills.
Glad you managed to get up and running! I've had a lot of people ask about steep hills, and it's not something I can answer since I don't have any in my property. Looking forward to the follow up on that.
@anoraker Just cut for 2 hours and it is 54 degrees F here. Handled the hills no problem. Charged batteries over night. Just plugged it in and the charger showed charging from 40%. Might not change out the battery monitor. I have used the mower for 8 season now and hopefully I can get 5 more with these new batteries. Great mower, terrible idea to do lead acid batteries that need to be replaced every 3 years.
If you going to do this swap don't use a floor jack. I built a table out of 1/4 or thicker plywood and 2x4s. Make it the same height as the bottom of the tray and the length of the tray. Be sure to use screws to make it steady.
That's a great idea. As my video demonstrated... a floor jack could lead to certain ... instability, lol.
Perfect! That helped fix my CRV without losing the previous settings, just like reboot the phone and everything is back to normal. Thank you so much !!
Great to hear!
I don't know when this video came out but you covered everything in an entertaining and informational way thank you I have the two plus pro and I haven't used it yet thank you for the video
Is vector worth purchasing now for a teenager?
So as far as I'm aware, DDL wasn't shipping orders for a long time... now they claim to be. I'm not sure I trust that, to be honest. There are a few people who are selling used Vectors with Wire-pod pre-installed (you'll still have to provide an always on computer to give him smarts) for less than what DDL chargers for a new vector. Like this: techshop82.com/shop/anki-vector-wire-pod-bundle/ I haven't purchased from that shop, but have seen good things on Reddit... so I can't personally vouch for it. But if I were going to do it, that'd be how I would since I just don't trust DDL to stay up and running.
If you look slightly to the side in any direction it looks awful. Notice how still he's keeping his head
Well I’m keeping my head still to demonstrate the eyesight feature that’s on the front of the screen. But yes, the smearing when moving will bother some people a lot.
Is the repairability similar on the P14s? Or is your review limited to the T14?
Based on repair guides I can find online, it appears as though the P14S Gen 5 has similar levels of repairability. The Gen 4 and earlier does not (soldered RAM for instance). support.lenovo.com/us/en/selfrepair/sr500049-thinkpad-p14s-gen-5-amd-21me-21mf-self-repair-guide Hope that helps!
can these be cut/spliced for different roof styles?
You can't cut or splice these lights, sorry.
I assume the re-boot makes you lose all of your personal settings, ie radio channels, sat nav favourites etc.?
nope! it's more like a true "turn it off and on again" sequence.
Kind of an odd question, but is there any chance you could compare efficacy of the three irons while trying to solder roughly 8awg copper wire? I've been shopping for a portable iron to do field repair/retermination on coaxial lines, namely LMR400 and RG214, but I can't find an example of a comparative heat load to determine which (if any) iron is viable, or if I must continue to lug around my own soldering station. Thank you for this review!
What is recommended to protect the power adapter?
My daily driver is PD210 from KSGR, best ergonomics for my hand period, and I had tried many.
Sooooooooo should I buy a vector do I pay monthly for him
You can... DDL offers a monthly subscription that gives you cloud server access to power Vector's smarts. Doing that means you won't have to have an always on computer. But DDL disappeared for a LONG time while still charging fees for access it didn't provide and only recently came back... I'm not sure I trust that. If you follow this process for Wire-Pod you don't have to pay monthly access fees because you're providing the server. The downside is, you need a computer that's always on... or Vector will lose his smarts when you turn the computer off (but get them back when you turn it back on).
hey so I can’t find anything to use my vector on, it said loading but still doesn’t do anything.
Fuses don’t just blow usually, there’s probably something else wrong with it… They are $300 on Amazon now…
All fuses eventually fail. They degrade over time from just normal every day use. And eventually what once was a "normal day' will be "too much" and cause it to blow.
Where did my comment go?
No idea. Never saw it.
Thank you for not being a shill.
This was the only video that helped me get my vector up and running again. Thank you so much!!
Is the Vector 2.0 actually working because they have them available on their website.
The company recently seems to have returned from the dead (again). Whether or not they deliver any orders is not something I can predict.
sharing free 3D print files will surely have you on santa's nice list 🎅🎄🎁
All yours to have!
Can you string two 99 ft lights and have it function as one?
They won't directly connect. But what you can do is group them together with Govee's Dreamview and make them act as one.
@ thanks that’s what I meant. Not physically connect them but in the app if I can group them together so they act like it’s one
@@islandsnow Govee's Dreamview does that essentially, yes. It's not a perfect mapping mind you, but they work together as a greater whole.
This is a great video...thank you. I was bouncing between all three of these, leanig towards the iFixIt and you sealed the deal.
After set up with AI does the computer that set up need to stay turned on?
Yes it acts as the new server.
If it was under warranty, did you send it back or get another one? You haven't stated what action you took to address this situation.
Hi! You can see all the details on the full video. Short story is: under warranty they brick the device, send you a new one, and then tell you to toss the old one.
Does this work for Cosmo?
Unfortunately, no.
Why does my vector doesn’t reply for “Hey vector “command after this wirepod setup.I have to manually press the button for that
This is an odd one, and I find it's about clarity. but that said, I've seen some people say that they've had luck by switching the version of English (away from US, etc.). Maybe try that?
Where would you recommend me to buy a vector I’ve been trying to get one but they are hard to find
I can't say I can recommend buying one anywhere, to be honest. The main company that sells them still hasn't earned my trust, and hasn't fulfilled all existing orders last I heard.
@@anorakeroh alright thank you! I did see the company are back to selling the vectors 2.0 but I don’t know if to trust them or not
very helpful video but i cant seem to get him connected to my bluetooth
What error are you getting?
45 second heat up time on the Pinecil? I have a Pinecil and it it takes less than 5 seconds or so to heat up(320 c). I think amps on your USB C brick are important for proper heating. Mabey 5 amps at 100w. I bought a cheap ONN brick with these specs (5 amps listed is probably more like 4 in actual performance)and it works great for me! Good to see more of these fast heating soldering setups though.
It does all depend on the power brick you're using yes, and I was using the most powerful brick I have (a GAN charger no less, with plenty of amps). But even at its absolute fastest, the Pinecil is slower than the iFixit iron. That's not to say the Pinecil doesn't have its own advantages, which I think I covered in this pretty well. It's not like I said, "no one should buy this."
Ive now ordered 1x 60ft, 5x 30ft 🎉
I bet they'll look amazing!
so glad ive done my research! im so asking for a vector for chritsmas! thank you so much!
Thank you
You're welcome!
So can i do this with a tablet if i dont have a computer at home
Not with a tablet, unfortunately. But you could do this with a Raspberry Pi.
I dont think these XR glasses are meant to be competing with the Vision Pro or the Meta Quest. In my opinion they only serve to be a bigger monitor when travelling on a plane or a bus and their competition is other XR glasses like Rayneo and Xreal. Good review though very objective.
So long as this device calls itself mixed reality (that's what XR means) and offers mixed reality features, I'll feel comfortable comparing to other mixed reality options on the market. That said, I've been working on getting other glasses form factor devices to compare.
My Pace ST25 works just fine. One at home and one at work.
That's cool! No need to buy new if what you have still works. It's just good to have options for anyone looking to get into soldering.
@anoraker I would like something portable to replace my butane irons but I need something that can stay hot. That Pine64 and ts101 have been on my list
Has anybody here actually attempted this? I really want to get this from mine little lady...
A bunch of people have from the first video, and a few from this video. I'm not saying it's "so easy a caveman can do it" ... but it's fairly easy.
@anoraker thank you for replying. I just heard. I'm sure you knew before I heard, but I think it's back online. The company that let everybody down has partnered with another one
@@uppairkk1811 They do seem to be up and running again for now. I'm not ready to trust them again, but completely understand anyone that takes the leap of faith. Good luck!
These are Quest 3 controllers tho😅
...right. Like the title says.
After installing the wirepod file,Its just a file saying wirepod and doesnt show a interface like yours. How to open it
Hello. Do you have a Vector 1.0 or 2.0 ?
I do. And I wasn't able to revive my vector. I will have to try this.
Good luck!
Jus got a brand new vector and tried the same thing on my mac but in the activation step,It doesn’t go through,it just says cannot be connected in red.Anyone got any idea on how to fix this?
In my description, try the link for the Vector 2.0 instead.
thanks for the life saving vid :) - my 10 year old son is overjoyed to see him come back to life! only issue we have is that unless the computer is on and the bluetooth connected - vector cant seem to retain the wifi connection? any ideas?
So what this does is stop Vector from connecting to WiFi and then to some server out in the world (that was down for years) ... and instead connect direct to your device and have it serve as the server. So you need the computer on for Vector to be smart. If you don't want your computer to be always on, you could connect Vector up to a Raspberry Pi. Those are low powered.
I appreciate that this review felt a lot more honest to me than most of the others I saw. But pointing out missing AR features and comparing them to VR headsets seems a little odd to me. They are just displays. I hope we'll get a 1440p option at some point. 1080p feels pretty dated at this point. I'll try them nonetheless, thanks for the video 👌
Hey thanks for watching! The reason I'm comparing them to things like the Vision Pro and such is these promise a Mixed Reality experience (that's what the XR in the name means!), as do the Vision pro and Meta Quest and so on. So I'm holding them to the standard they've set for themselves. Again, thanks for the compliments!
@anoraker I understand how the name is kinda confusing or even misleading, so that makes sense. But they are just advertised as a display. I rechecked the product page, and they do not mention XR, AR, or VR once. Apart from the name. I guess they should come up with something other than XR. Glasses-Display doesn't sound very enticing, though 😄. Anyway, I appreciate the response. Have a great day!
Just from a minute or so checking the website I found quotes and claims like: "Our mixed reality glasses just got an upgrade" "...Viture One is focused on Extended Reality, an expansion of the real world" and "SpaceWalker is an XR experience on iOS available exclusively for VITURE One XR Glasses - and the first and only of its kind." So again, I think it's fair to compare them to other XR experiences out there... where they are better (lighter, cheaper, etc.) and worse (less immersive, capable, etc.). Thanks for watching! It's much appreciated.
Hi , great vid on the upgrade. I purchased 4 new Lifepo4 batteries in Australia (on special from Bunnings (Lowes) ) for $1100 AU and Charger on ebay for $160 AU you suggested and works like a dream. Beets the heck out of the purchase of a new ride on, and gas powered way to noisy with high maintenance. By the way I achieved 4 Years on the old batteries AGM 75 AH's not bad. Thanks for you Video which provided me confidence to attempt the upgrade.
Wow! I didn't even know you could get this mower in Australia. So glad this worked for you! It's amazing how improved this mower is after the swap just to the sheer weight drop alone.
I'm glad I could help!
I bought 2 , the 60ft and the 30ft
nice!
Thank you so much!! Now my vector works better than before 🎉 It’s very happy seeing him again and talk to him after 1 year ❤
That's awesome! If you want to expand his capabilities, I released a follow up video to show how to get Weather and ChatGPT up and running.
Is 99 feet long enough for a 7.5 foot tree?
Yes i think so. What you’re seeing in my video is a 7.5 foot tree and the 66 foot length option.
