My olfa is my best friend. Technically i nicked mine from a sculpture class i took in college, but hopefully they understand. It’s been by my side ever since - great review.
I write my name on all my tools, and more than once did it save my Olfa knife from being nicked in art school-- "oh this knife? this isn't your knife." "oh yeah? what does it say written on the handle?" S T E R N "oh, my mistake." 😆
I have 3 different types of Olfa for work, and they are the best knives I have ever used. I have had them for over 8 years now, and other than getting dirty, they are amazing.
We use these at work for conveyor belt splicing, A standard box cutter blade fits the knife you had on the far right, also that is not industrial type. We are banned from using the industrial "banana" style ones because of too many injuries. Also there is a faster way to snap off the blades, Simply hold it knob side down on a flat surface, extend it so the lines meet up at the guard, push down hard while rotating the knife to the left. We wear CUT 5 gloves with them. for heavier duty belts, we use the olfa H-1.
I have the exact knife but the thing is when I opened the knife and I trues to put it back together I'm not able to get the sound can you please disassemble yours and show us how to put everything back together I beg
Olfa are an amazing Japanese brand that has been around for decades. Very famous for their excellent quality and durability. So if you can afford to pay that bit extra for an Olfa product it will last a lifetime.
I tried many others but always come back to this one, I realy love it. The Olfa L-1 gives me the best feeling somehow, something special all others dont have :D
Just today, my husband got me an OLFA Self-healing Cutting Mat and an AK-5. My next wishlist would be this cutter!😍 planning to have olfa cutters as well for my mat🥰 but for now, i'll use local cutters. Hope it'll not damage my maaaat!!! I can't find Alvin mat here in ph. Thanks for this review!
I actually have one and it's not my favorite for a lot of tasks. My favorite is the Olfa One-Touch L 18mm Heavy-Duty Slide-Lock Utility Knife (SL-1). It's really fast to operate, no ratcheting and adjusting. It locks really good using a set of teeth on the side. I've had mine for probably 25 years and it still works really good for something that's made of 99% plastic (it's got just a metal leaf spring in the blade holder part)
I pick this one up in Pearl paint back in the days because it was the only one available, and turns out this was my favorite version above all. It's light weight, durable, and has no hot spot for the hand.
Pearl always had really good taste when it came to what products to stock. Mine came from there as well, as part of my freshman art school kit. RIP ny.curbed.com/2017/3/24/15048544/tribeca-pearl-paint-art-store-luxury-rentals
The very best utility knife I have had is one were it had a magazine feature where you could load several blades in it at once, unfortunately it got stolen by a customer shortly after I had it.
About a rare black Olfa knife about 12 years ago, it has a smooth steel box opener on the opposite side to the blade, it's not sharp but it has been so useful in factory work, I still use it to this day. Of course the breakable blades on it are also great.
I just recently stumbled upon your channel and I'm glad that I did. Your delivery is on point and not boring so thank you for getting good information out there in a way that is digestible. I'm going to order me one of those knives now. Thank you.
I've had one like this for more than 7 years and today I finally found out how to change the blade and I've been holding onto it for the sound it makes :D lol Thank you!
Hi Becky, I also have some of those knives and as I have a lot of the spare blades for them I will still be using them for a long time now. The only downside is where they come from with the outbreak of that horrible virus, but as I have had mine for many years of faithful service I do not have that problem. A great utility blade.
@@DerRindenmulchficker if you read my text i did not say the knife had anything to do with covid i said that because of covid things were harder to get hold of.

Very satisfying sound! :) I've got an NT Cutter LG (also made in Japan) and a Maker knife. Both also makes very distinctive sounds.
I recently switched from DeWalt and Milwaukee blades to Olfa products and I got carried away. Great products.
Agreed, they make great tools!
I have had mine for many years and totally agree..its a great tool!!!
I have their wheel cutters. Now I'm puzzled at why I don't have that knife. These small things make a big difference.

Interesting fact. This knife is the basis for the paper cutting knife in Silent Hill 4: The Room.

I have a few Olfa knives (I love my Olfa rotary knife) but I am definitely going to have to look into this one!

I agree I much prefer the slide-locks. Probably just personal preference though.
I have my Grampys from 1978 all plastic but to big for work

you should explain how to remove and replace the blade
That’s the only Olfa I use. Have been using them for 20 years.

My Olfa that I got about 3 years ago is the exact same, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and all that
I've had one like this for more than 7 years and today I finally found out how to change the blade and I've been holding onto it for the sound it makes :D lol Thank you!
You didn't show how to change the blade on an olfa
Did you need help with that? Unscrew the tightening wheel until the short end of the used blade can come out the back, reverse process with a new one.
@@BeckyStern Thank you. I figured it out shortly after watching the video
Thanks for a Great review, love mine too!
sweet was wondering how to snap blade.
Best cutter ever made.
Bonita você!

What has covid to do with where the knife is made?
