This kind of mechanics is indeed hard to find. This guy in the vid was workin in Audis development department as an engineer for 22 years. 😅 He knows every single part blindfolded and even a bit more. :)
Da könnt ich stundenlang zuschauen, auch wenn ich niemals ein DSG fahren werde. Ich mag einfach die Drehzahlsprünge beim Wandler auch wenn das nicht so effizient und modern ist.

Very interesting to view even for this non-mechanically inclined individual-me! Shows the complexity of the DSG transmission and one has to appreciate how well it functions. I do not think the average tech at the local VW dealer could be trusted to do this but I may be wrong. Thank you for the interesting video!

This is more of a reseal than an overhaul. Great video though, I enjoyed the lack of noise, just the sounds of the job getting done.

Great video showing the replacement of the seals but isn't really a overhaul as he did nothing with the clutch packs or metronics
He Scotts, a clear YES! This should be showing you how you replace our gaskets on the DSG Gearbox. For sure there is more to do as only changing gaskets. Your Elring Service Team

As I see you're a specialist with these DSG s. On my Passat B8 Bitdi, at only 50000km the cars starts to shake on idle especially when in N. When it changes gears or take off it smudges, it changes with shocks. What would you say it's the porblem: flywheel?
What is very interesting is that in D is shakes(judder) less but still noticeable but when it's doing its regeneration is much better but not so better when, still at 1000rpm , when cold but not regenerating. Thanks"

In the process of getting my 7 speed dsg gearbox fixed. Having a loud whine when speeding up, very loud when at 70 mph. Suspected pinion head or bearing. Costing me £2000 for a rebuild.
Not sure what type it is. Not sure on the trouble free miles either as we bought it 2nd hand from a garage and believe that was the reason the previous owner traded it in. All fixed now and got my money back from the warranty company and garage, had to take the case to court were they accepted liability. All good now. Pinion bearing had pitted the ⚙️

This is strange. If the replacement parts or seals are done directly, at least there is still a lot of dirt in the transmission. I suspect this has been demolished first and then in the video, so it looks very clean.

BM TB i came here to say the same thing. Didn’t even show inspection of the sealing surfaces, like those ever actually get worn or anything 🤦🏻♂️

Direkt am Anfang erstmal die Schraube weiter angezogen 😄
Zudem frag ich mich, ob es nicht besser wäre die Schrauben diagonal wieder festzuziehen.
Ansonsten sehr informativ, wenn es darum geht die Dichtungen zu wechseln, wobei ich mir bei 'Overhaul' gewünscht hätte, auch den Wechsel der Kupplung, Zahnräder etc. sehen zu können.

vielen Dank für deine Hinweise. Ja wir zeigen als Dichtungshersteller wie man Dichtungen wechselt. Das ist auch eine Art von Instandsetzung oder Überholung. Wenn du detail Fragen an einen Experten hast, dann kannst du dich gerne mit dem "GetriebeDOC" in Verbindung setzten. Ein wahrer Experte bei diesem Getriebe!

@elring can you speak on solenoid replacement on the mechatronic? Common issue here in North America causing a lot of owners to buy an expensive refurb mech unit instead of a very cheap and easy repair. Seems VAG wanted to keep that work to themselves, taking the customers core and selling them a unit for 4500usd when the repair is 300-1kusd. The issue has become a class action lawsuit in the USA but elsewhere Audi isn’t taking responsibility. Please as someone in the industry speak on this I would like your thoughts

Der Herr war 22 Jahre in Audis Getriebeentwicklung tätig. Er kennt die Getriebe BOM der letzten Jahre auswendig. 😅 Er hat für das dl501 den Radsatz entwickelt.

We are doing this movies not only for the pros - for them we would have to produce 120min. Blockbusters - we do this movies for hobby-workers, trainees and beginners as well! Where is the video of overhauling a gearbox. Changing some o rings and oil seals is not overhauling a gearbox. Sorry.
Why would you replace hard parts if they aren't needed? Only a ripoff workshop would do that to make profit from unsuspecting motorists.
@@einfelder8262 Why is the gearbox out of the car then? Usually there is something wrong with it if you have removed it and at least take it apart to inspect the wear items. Have you ever rebuilt a gearbox or do you even know what you are talking about?

Yo que trabajé con esos cambios automáticos en españa y se ha saltado muchos ajustes, por ejemplo los del embrague, el captador de gama y la prueba de vacío del retén de entre el mecatronic y la caja de engranajes. No es tan fácil como se ve aquí. Créanme que se los digo.
