Amazing precision - Robotics is the single greatest advancement in manufacturing, cars and especially engines are built 1000x better using robotics. This is why cars last so long today and so dependable, precision built.
I worked 30yrs in metal cutting inserts, it is fabulous the level of detail. We worked years on the edge material to make one cut on exhaust valves. One cut on one small part. The ICE is definitely engineered well. BUT anybody notice how much metal cutting is not done in EVs? EVs made via casting? The slow shift to electric propulsion is inevitable, they are far better engines than ICE. Metal cutting, metal working, will shrink dramatically in the next decades. All these fantastic cutting, turning, milling, boring, superfinishing...all that will be in the bin.
I am also afraid of this, this great knowledge will be lost! 🥴 😢😖
This machining & Lathing job will be lost if all Vehicles is electrified.

they literally did tons of automated quality control automated measurements and tested the engine as well each person only does one 30 sec thing so you can prob remember it on your first day and after a month you'd be able in a month not to mention how long they have done it the reliability of the engine is more due to the engineers and design not the workers who make it its high quality but high quality don't matter if theirs bad design

A ja mam popsute M340i po przebiegu niecałe 1000 km, czyli silnik nawet nie został dotarty. Autem nacieszylem się poniżej jednego miesiąca. Silnik szarpie, autoryzowany serwis nie może zdiagnozować usterki, wymienili już kilka podzespołów i nic, nawet nie są mi w stanie powiedzieć kiedy dostanę naprawiony pojazd. Po zgłoszeniu awarii na infolini nawet nie chcieli mi wysłać lawety i powiedziano mi że mam sam to zorganizować i zapłacić z własnego ubezpieczenia. Po drugiej interwencji na infolinię połączyli mnie z innym serwisem i zdalnie zdiagnozowali usterka jako awaria układu paliwowego drugiego cylindra i bez problemu nie zwłocznie wysłali po auto lawetę . Jestem zawiedziony że po tak krótkim czasie moje auto jest unieruchomione, a serwis nie może zdiagnozować usterki. Nigdy więcej BMW.
