As someone who has attended both, I much preferred private school. The public school did seem more lenient on rules, but the private schools were not quite as strict as they thought. The teachers were firm on the rules, yet a lot of them more caring and passionate then those at public school. However, the private school had an amazing community and enjoyed it much more than public school.
@@TealBeal11 Yep. They were more aware that everybody in this building is going to be strung out on some sort of hard substance in ten years just to cope with the stress of being overworked and paid just enough to cover rent, and a few hot meals every now and again.
@@isengarde9490 Uh, no? Nearly everyone from my friend group in high school ended up reasonably successful. Most went on to go to college or got technical degrees. Certainly none are destitute. Funnily enough, there were actually more substance abusers at the private school I went to. Kids who got caught doing that in the public school usually got expelled, so their parents would pay for them to go to private Christian schools instead.
As a person who has attended Private Schools, I can indeed confirm that we go to Countries and regard them as "Field Trips". We went to China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, France, Germany, AND ITALY in FRESHMEN YEAR. @@JUNSKULLY. I believe him. When Spring break came around at my HS they would have trips to Europe and visit different countries in the same week (Hungary, France, etc) 😂
I went to private school. I do think you get what you pay for. The lunches while not crazy were still pretty good with lots of choices. The teachers had really high-level education and felt a lot like my college professors. The classrooms and facilities were kept clean and of nice quality. The campus also had really good security with routine monitoring and gated access. The dress code though was very strict, and I would get in trouble for simply forgetting a belt or wearing the wrong color of socks. Also, one day a week we had to wear full suits with blazer, button up shirt, and tie. Classes also started at 7:30am which was a bit early to me. The school was a college preparatory school and formally military based so there was a huge amount of classwork, tests, and homework to complete. But even though that was annoying I think it greatly helped me prepare for college and graduate university with my engineering degree without much issue. One time in high school we even had an extended field trip to one of the Walt Disney theme parks which was a lot of fun. Although not a lot of learning happened that week. 😆
I used to go to a private school, and boy did the tuition fees go to good use. High tech interactive whiteboards I have yet to see in public school, a library so big it probably exists in a pocket dimension, interior design that made school look so good I would actually not mind living in it and this giant climbing frame that gave kids burns and injuries every day. It was amazing. I have yet to see a public school with these specs. Still the tuition fee was around 20k every semester per student which kinda explains everything.
My public school actually has an interactive whiteboard in every room, doesn’t mean that teachers know how to use it very well though. We have CTE rooms that are particularly nice, with carpet and padded wheely office chairs with desktop computers. One of the rooms even has three separate projectors in it. Lacking the giant climbing frame :(
Other than the library literally every public school I been to had ts plus all the high schools doing constructions and looking like mansions n shit nowadays
As an American who’s been to both private and public schools, this was pretty accurate except from my experience, private schools were less strict on rules/dress code than public schools and the teachers weren’t necessarily overqualified either (my private school wasn’t a prep or prestigious school so that’s probably why). Have to admit, you definitely got field trips on point though. At private school, the majority of my field trips were overnight trips and we got to go to a bunch of exciting places within the state (Georgia). One time all of 8th grade (year 9) basically went on a one week trip throughout basically the entire state and it was probably one of the most fun trips I’ve been on. Compared to public schools, other than one overnight trip, the most fun we got to go to were museums and ngl, they were fun, but unmatched compared to private school trips. I don’t go to that private school anymore, but I did hear from one of my friends there that the seniors (year 13) get to go on an overnight trip to Washington DC, so yeah that should be pretty fun for them.
Best field trip I ever went on(Public school) was to a dump lake where companies would dump old chemicals and waste in the lake so it would decompose. Me and my friends counted dead fish on the side. It was certainly interesting.
@@JUNSKULLY. Yeah, Mine is kinda of a private school and it aint that strict, only mainly on uniform, But now my school getting more strict as the kids of my school seem to have turn more into public kids
I went to both (catholic school specifically). the social environment in public school was so much better. the kids at catholic school would constantly bully me, but the kids at public school didn't do much to me for the most part. anyway, now I have trauma around uniforms bc they weren't flattering on my body and ppl would make fun of me.
Here in Germany it completely varies from school to school. Private schools are much less common. We have 4 main types of high schools (Hauptschule, Realschule, Gesamtschule, Gymnasium) and they teach stuff at different levels of complexity. To get to university after graduating is not as easy if you haven't been to a better type of high school. Specifically for my Gymnasium (a public school), to enter in 5th or 7th grade they look at your grades from prior years and there is an entrance exam. This whole entrance phase can become super competitive when your school has a very good reputation and your area is very populated. Only a select number of applicants will be picked for the school
here in a private school you can leave ur expensive ahh phone anywhere and noone would take it, while my friend who studies in a public school just left her phone on her table just to go to the restroom and when she came back its gone 💀💀
At my private school , our lockers didn’t even have locks because nobody would steal. You could leave a laptop or phone sitting somewhere random and it would almost always be there when you got back too. Never heard of anyones things being stolen
i lost my macbook in the commons are for 2 weeks without a password since i hadn't set it up yet, one of the boys in my class found it, gave it back to me and nothing had been touched
My public school is full of fucking goblins i swear. Leave your phone phone and look away for a few seconds, and next thing you know your classmate is with that thing.
Can confirm private schools will take underperformers. I didn't give a crap about school but parents sent me to private. Passed entrance exams but got put in the lowest class full of troublemakers which was basically a public school environment anyway, not much learning going down but some real goofing by all concerned. They gave us the angriest teachers to make sure we passed exams with good enough grades but holy was it drama in class every day. Meanwhile higher classes got super smart and even friends with teachers, everyone knew we were the dumb kids so we acted like it.
as someone who goes to a private school, i can assure you that we have the most mediocre infrastructure ever 💀 the community is okay, though. most of the teachers care and there isn’t a whole lot of bullying. my school covers pre-k through 12th grade, elementary and middle school students have to wear pretty mid-looking uniforms, but when you get to high school, you just have to follow a dress code. you can wear all the jewlery you want and can dye your hair as long as you don’t end up looking like a highlighter.
Went to a private school for the majority of my life, but unfortunately, I had to leave mid-school year for financial reasons. I'm currently attending a public school and honestly, it's not as bad as most in my area would think, but there are certainly A LOT of things administration could improve on. One of the things I have been able to atleast view both aspects with an open mind, and set aside some bias I had about public schools. I do wish I was back at my old school, not only for the academic benefits but the community I was practically ingrained in over time. But everything happens for a reason in life, I guess, and my "future" is just getting started
I remember one time, the private school tried to ban people from wearing athletic shorts (an event which I am certain had a story behind it) It ended up like the prohibition of alcohol in the US: No one listened to the rule and many teachers didn't enforce it, so they just gave up with that rule.
I've attended both and let me tell you, public school teachers taught better than my private school teachers, but the main problem I had with my teachers were in math where every teacher I had sucked at teaching it. One thing I liked about private schools was were we could talk about anything and not have to worry where in public schools you are constantly fearing that someone overheard your conversation. Another thing I liked about my private school was that there was a system called merits and demerits where if you were bad enough over time, eventually you would get a detention, not like public school were immediately you were sent to detention.
im going to a private school and theres basically little to no rules, we got a dedicated smoking area (thats what the school staff calls it) for students lmao and i have seen people having a beer there many times
My friend went to a private school for years, and for some reason his parents transferred him to the worst school in the state( mine) he immediately was shocked at how bad me and others behaved.
I had to wake up at 5 am to prepare for school, the upside is that you had more time during the day after getting home from school. But holy crap I was a zombie 60% of the day.
I’ve been to a lot of different private and public schools, and from what I saw none are more strict then the other. It really just depends on the school, sometimes private schools aren’t as strict as public schools, sometimes the other way around.
Eh thats pretty chill ig. My classmates in public school brought a condom, filled it up with water, kinda walked around with it in front of the teacher making jokes, and then blew it up under a desk. I mean cant blame them, the history classes are so boring and whenever it used to be in the morning i almost fell asleep there multiple times.
As somebody who spent the majority of her childhood in a really small private school (that’s literally a suburban house) I can’t say I’ve experienced a lot of the things listed in this video. The school I went to was an amateur establishment, we didn’t have to wear uniforms (and there was no dress-code that I knew of), there were two classrooms, certain days had certain events such as a movie day and a day where we can literally do whatever we want called “Fun-Friday”. the teachers were pretty strict and not qualified to be teaching children (one of whom being a literal anti-vaxxer), and would be sometimes very opinionated about the stuff they teach (such as history, science, and humanities), there were also punishments for rule breakers like being sent to the “Break room” which is a cold, dark room with a cushioned chair, and/or losing “fun-Friday”. I personally didn’t get the best education from there and I realized that in my early teens so I left, Now I am homeschooled and dealing with academic issues partially because of my old private school.
My private school costed $15K a year when I attended it but literally every one other than me did not give a singular f*** about any of the lessons and my buddies were getting C- s regularly. Also these mfs be wearing Messi jerseys and shorts in class instead of the proper uniform and the teachers just don’t care. The thing about them being strict about lateness is soooo true tho, they be sent to 20 min detention for being 2 mins late. Also they didn’t pay for them, my parents needed to wire them the money for the hotel, plane tickets cuz they flew us out commercial, and a bunch of other costs. They did fly us to Dubai once, but out of country trips are very rare. We also have to pay for in city trips (like the ones to theme parks etc.) Also, I didn’t go a day in that hellhole without at least 3 fights going down simultaneously in the lunch hall. The teachers were amazing tho ngl
As a Filipino who attended both it's pretty accurate but in my personal experience the Public Schools have way more interesting field trips than Private schools bc in my Public school back then we where literally going to the city with a 1 week schedule and each day was interesting (I will not go into detail but one had a swimming pool trip and beach) and the private school I attended literally a decade ago (I'm 16 yo) we went to a zoo and it literally started raining all of a sudden
as a person who goes to a private school, stuff goes down, but not nearly as much as public schools, that stuff is insane 💀💀💀 edit: after watching most of the vid, i feel that at least my private school isnt too strict, but still much worse than public school edit 2: bathrooms are NOT clean 😭😭😭
Lmao I was in the middle, having gone to a Catholic primary school and a public high school. Catholic schools are not quite private schools, but they're close. We paid $2k AUD or smth a year per student I think. Could we afford it? Lmao no, we were still in debt by the time my youngest sister graduated, 13 years after I started, but it's nowhere near private school or high school tuition fees. There was a lot of families like that too, who just wanted their kids to go to a decent school where the kids weren't all batshit insane...mostly. I'm glad I went overall. I'm not religious, but it was a good foundational school at the time, and felt like a community where the parents and teachers were really close and actually gave a shit about the kids. The public high school was batshit insane and a big wake-up call, and I loved that too haha.
My school (a public school) is a mix between both of these like our trips to the other side of the world, such as Europe, but we also have some things from public schools in this such as not so great teachers it's weird ig like stated it varies from place to place which I guess is true but like my city is not a posh city at all and the students drop out by year 10 in fact its got the lowest grades in the country for a high school but the actual private schools don't have half the things like international field trips. It would be interesting to map every school out in the world and see what it's like if there's a pattern or not.
Been to public school my whole life our school couldn’t afford feild trips at all The only one I remember is one of the years we took the city bus to see that live action Tarzan movie because it was “educational enough” 💀
I went to a private school but no one was vetted so basically half the kids were rich snobs and the other half was rich kids that were kicked out of public schools. It was also strict asf like someone got detention because the logo on his school shirt fell off in the washer. My family was no where near the level of rich that they charged but my parents are also highly religious and they didn’t want me being taught evolution so I basically went 2 years before we ran out of money and I needed to go to public school and by my experience public school is 1000x better. Basically the private school I went to was exactly like public school (in the education sphere my private school once hired a prostitute as a middle school science teacher) except there were no school plugs and it was incredibly strict so it was a little worse.
My private school is EXACTLY like this, they give detentions left and right and the dress code is so strict, for example you can’t wear sneakers in high school😭 we have to wear fancy shoes everyday and it sucks
I used to go to private schools ever since I was nine and just a few days ago my mum told me the amount the schools had charged my family it’s was 92,000 dollars 92,000 DOLLARS
I went to an early college high school program which is technically a public school (I think) but it honestly felt like the best of both worlds. No teacher or student was pretentious and there wasn’t any of the shenanigans that came with going to public school. Didn’t have any field trips or sports tho which was sad but I think that it’s a good tradeoff.
My private school lunch: Monday: chicken Alfredo or penne and meatball Tuesday: Three brothers grill Wednesday: hoagies or burgers Thursday: Panda Express Friday: Chick fil A (And they either come with chips, carrots, water, or juice)
My private school lunch: Monday:Sandwich/Snack Tuesday:Sandwich/Snack Wednesday:Sandwich/Snack Thursday:Sandwich/Snack Friday:Sandwich/Snack (It comes with me borrowing other people's food)
ive been to both, the rules are about equally strict. its more about the people than the rules cause, at least in my experience, the people at public school are nicer and its easier to talk to. they dont brag about their money and they were nicer and didnt ignore me :| but there were more fights in public school and the teachers dont do their jobs, my history teacher in the public school i went to used to sleep in class every lesson... its probably different in other countries and per individual but i live in australia so its different to american or british school
The worst part about schools are the time of going there. Humans from different ages have different internal clocks, for teenagers its from 11pm to 10am while adult have it earlier while also needing less sleep. The sleep we lose cuz of it is like the most important time of sleeping and its mandetory for development of the brain.
Doesn’t apply to all teenagers, I fall asleep around 8-10 pm depending how hard I worked throughout the day. I naturally wake up around 7-8am. 10am is too late for me
I go to a public charter school and it’s so fun. We have morning break (recess) after 2nd period. Then we go on field trips in April or may. We also wear uniforms but the uniforms aren’t that bad.
Coming from someone who’s been to both (private for 5 yrs and public for 4 yrs) I’ve actually learnt more efficiently at public schools. When I first transferred to a public school I noticed everyone was sm smarter which tbh pushed me further. I also found the teachers were ig overqualified? But they really went beyond what they had to, whereas it was the least amount of work possible for teachers at private school. Also there weren’t as many snobby rich kid stereotypes at my public school.
i’m pretty much the same but i went to public for 4 and then transferred to private for 5. honestly, when i went over to private school, i felt the kids were stuck up and way more bratty, and the teachers really did nothing about it. and you’re right, the kids were smarter in public school. i’ve only been to public school from k-4th grade so i can’t really say anything too big abt public schools, but i really want to go back.
I went to a public primary and went to a kind of private school (we called it that because it was a new school and very high quality so high quality there was a good waiting list to get in it) and the private one was brilliant compared to the public schooo
I’ve attended both types of schools and what I can say is that, everyone at the private school is more chill and doing their thing of course we had rules too but it wasn’t as strict and overwhelming as the public school
I never realized how much worse the education is in public bc my friend moved to public last year and this year to they are learning something we learned TWO-THREE GRADES AGO
I went to private school for high school and we had a more lax dress code my senior year than the public schools. Never had a uniform and they allowed girls to wear yoga pants and then later on they could wear tank tops. Also my school never gave any detentions, even for disruptive kids. They did suspend and expel students but detention was not a thing at our school. In addition the teachers were usually really good but we sometimes got teachers that had a great personality and were great people, but not the best teachers. Oh and the food at our school was AWFUL I never ate it unless it was free
I find it kinda funny how people are saying private school was more lenient than public. I got a whole-ass detention in second grade just for READING!!! Needless to say, my mom took me to public school after that.
I love the video idea! However, I have attended both public and private school and there is a big difference. This being said your description of private school is funny but not accurate. I went to the best private school in my state but aside from the average one or two strict teachers, the rules were the same. The kids either didn’t do really bad things or did the much less because on average private schools have a much lower grade population. So this made it a very tight knit community so if you did something everyone knew. Also private school kids were better mannered but not all were rich. Over half including myself were there on scholarships or financial aid.
@@JUNSKULLY. yeah you definetely can, I’ve gone to private school for 5 years now and they’ve helped pay like at least 80% of my tuition throughout the years
I've been to both and public schools are definitely stricter, I once got a detention for wearing my coat inside once. But at private school, they lock your phone in your head of year's office in a box all day so you can't touch it, and like you said so branded coats or even branded socks!
In our private school (which was owned and created by a cigarette conglomerate) we had to pay for our school field trips, even though our school fees are absurd. So whenever there's a field trip to other countries I never go because it's just so damn expensive that my parents refuse to pay. Btw our school toilets absolutely suck it's very crammed with only 2 stalls and it's usually filled to the brim with used toilet paper and barely anyone flushes properly

5:20 was practically my old teacher at my private school. When we asked her if she was qualified for the job, she started yapping about her master's and bachelor's degrees without even answering the question.
as someone that has been to both sides, it's really dependant, i've been to shitty public schools but also godly public schools, and all private schools have been good so when going to a public school you're rolling a d20, and if you get a 20 you get a good public school, and if you get anything lower than 20 you get a terrible school
i go to a private school and its so ASS they dont let us do anything they only care about the money if you make one single mistake you lose 98% (exaggeration ofc) BUT GOD DAMN I HATE IT I WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AT 7:50 TO GO TO SCHOOL AT 8 I GET NO DAMN SLEEP I CANT DO SHIT PLEASE SOMEBODY FREE ME
Not all school I remember I woke up at like 7:40 in Alaska because it’s so dark by like 10 AM you can barley see might as well going to school at night if you go at 5:30
2 things I really appreciate in my private school is 1) the infrastructure, and 2) the trips. We get 1 trip to another state per year, 1 international trip per year, and then field trips for each subject
I went to a private school and it was cheap ik I was in the basement with the other SPECAIL ed kids but it's way better than public schools because the kids in my public school pee on the damn floor
Nah what are the comments talking about? My private school freaks the fuck out when I wear black socks instead of white ones. My public school let this kid rock up in casual clothes because his uniform got dirty 💀

2:07 dude thats still better than where i go to, my school starts at 7 AM🗿
What the fuck is interactive whiteboards
@@thegameranch5935 whiteboards that in my school use projectors and special pens but I’m sure there’s an electronic whiteboard with touchscreen
Lucky, my private school spends our tuition on grass (apparently there is not a better school in my area)
Most I've ever been to in a field trip is the aquarium. Over all 9 years of elem and middle school thats it.

Best field trip I ever went on(Public school) was to a dump lake where companies would dump old chemicals and waste in the lake so it would decompose. Me and my friends counted dead fish on the side. It was certainly interesting.
I have a friend who went to private school. He said they aren’t as strict as you’d think, and that they’re pretty chill.
Oh Fr?

I went to both (catholic school specifically). the social environment in public school was so much better. the kids at catholic school would constantly bully me, but the kids at public school didn't do much to me for the most part. anyway, now I have trauma around uniforms bc they weren't flattering on my body and ppl would make fun of me.

6:45 My school, u were lucky to go to the local ice skating rink for 1 hour once per year. The thing is, u had to walk for 45 minutes to get there.
I didn't had to do an entrance exam. I just had a talk with my school principal.
It's a pretty relaxed private school for the most part.
here in a private school you can leave ur expensive ahh phone anywhere and noone would take it, while my friend who studies in a public school just left her phone on her table just to go to the restroom and when she came back its gone 💀💀
At my private school , our lockers didn’t even have locks because nobody would steal. You could leave a laptop or phone sitting somewhere random and it would almost always be there when you got back too. Never heard of anyones things being stolen
That's her fault pretty common sense to put it away

my school takes us on trips to local parks and the same dead museum every year 💀
Can confirm private schools will take underperformers.
My school is a public school but still has private school rules, but it's still crazy as hell.
as someone who goes to a private school, i can assure you that we have the most mediocre infrastructure ever 💀 the community is okay, though. most of the teachers care and there isn’t a whole lot of bullying. my school covers pre-k through 12th grade, elementary and middle school students have to wear pretty mid-looking uniforms, but when you get to high school, you just have to follow a dress code. you can wear all the jewlery you want and can dye your hair as long as you don’t end up looking like a highlighter.
My school is the exact same exept it’s like very poor :/
@@π.14 oh wow
Went to a private school for the majority of my life, but unfortunately, I had to leave mid-school year for financial reasons. I'm currently attending a public school and honestly, it's not as bad as most in my area would think, but there are certainly A LOT of things administration could improve on. One of the things I have been able to atleast view both aspects with an open mind, and set aside some bias I had about public schools. I do wish I was back at my old school, not only for the academic benefits but the community I was practically ingrained in over time. But everything happens for a reason in life, I guess, and my "future" is just getting started
I remember one time, the private school tried to ban people from wearing athletic shorts (an event which I am certain had a story behind it)
It ended up like the prohibition of alcohol in the US: No one listened to the rule and many teachers didn't enforce it, so they just gave up with that rule.
I was going to go to a private school this year for high-school but I decided not to last minute since I’d lose all my good friends and a lot more.
Good choice
Sounds like you begged and pleaded with your parents who actually listened. Lucky.

I’ve been to a lot of different private and public schools, and from what I saw none are more strict then the other. It really just depends on the school, sometimes private schools aren’t as strict as public schools, sometimes the other way around.
I will say at a private school my friend screamed Crack cocaine and didn’t get in trouble.
Gurl that room sounds like a black mirror episode lmao
By any chance, are ya a Georgian? We might've gone to the same school. The "fun friday" rings a bell for me.
We also have to pay for in city trips (like the ones to theme parks etc.)
Also, I didn’t go a day in that hellhole without at least 3 fights going down simultaneously in the lunch hall.
The teachers were amazing tho ngl

Thanks man I needed that
My school (a public school) is a mix between both of these like our trips to the other side of the world, such as Europe, but we also have some things from public schools in this such as not so great teachers it's weird ig like stated it varies from place to place which I guess is true but like my city is not a posh city at all and the students drop out by year 10 in fact its got the lowest grades in the country for a high school but the actual private schools don't have half the things like international field trips. It would be interesting to map every school out in the world and see what it's like if there's a pattern or not.
Been to public school my whole life our school couldn’t afford feild trips at all
The only one I remember is one of the years we took the city bus to see that live action Tarzan movie because it was “educational enough” 💀
Damn swear? Then your private wasn’t really your average one

Private schools also have a hierarchy where kids who have parents that donate a lot to the school get away with everything and anything.
My public school starts at 8:17 lol
I went to private school for high school and we had a more lax dress code my senior year than the public schools. Never had a uniform and they allowed girls to wear yoga pants and then later on they could wear tank tops. Also my school never gave any detentions, even for disruptive kids. They did suspend and expel students but detention was not a thing at our school. In addition the teachers were usually really good but we sometimes got teachers that had a great personality and were great people, but not the best teachers. Oh and the food at our school was AWFUL I never ate it unless it was free
Brotha really called 8:30 early
I find it kinda funny how people are saying private school was more lenient than public. I got a whole-ass detention in second grade just for READING!!! Needless to say, my mom took me to public school after that.
Dawg I gotta be there by like 7:30
I love the video idea!
I seee. So you can scholarship in private school???? Damn I was wrong then lmaoo
