As someone that still plays roblox quite a lot now, I agree 95% of the games are just made for children. There's a game called "better discovery" that filters games by actual humans-with-braincells reviews, which is my go to source if I wanna play actual decent games now, worth checking out for people that want actual games to play and not just slop for children

Honestly I'm tired of seeing devs with the mindset of "Players are children, so I can only make brain-rot games with 2190132901 flashing lights!!!" Just because players are young, doesnt mean they can't enjoy ACTUAL good games with rich storylines and intricate gameplay (Doors, Grace, etc). People, especially kids, WANT to be treated more intelligently by the platform - not like idiots by devs who pump out the same slop for the 31489th game in a row. If more devs took the time to realize this, the front page games would be so much better imo. Sadly, theyre probably scared of putting in slightly more effort just for their game to flop. you also forgot that the games get so desperate for visitors at times to the point where it shoves pop ups in your face because you have to invite a friend or 10 friends for a booster even though they'll never come because they don't play the game at all or aren't interested.

I started playing Roblox in 2016, and while I still do play it regularly now, what you said about only sticking to one or two games is absolutely true. My friends have gotten me to branch out for fun voice chat nights and such, but my regular rotation is really only between Natural Disaster Survival and Regretevator now. Roblox is nearly unrecognizable compared to how it was when I started playing unless you're specifically looking for niche games. Very cool video, by the way! It put a lot of my thoughts into words and was very well made. I have to compliment your voice and sound design in particular; it was very clear and easy on the ears. This gets a sub from me!

its likely just made from kits out the model catalogue, a bunch of the older tycoon games from say ~2015 were the same free model kit put on different maps the same goes for the "rng" and "clicker" games which all share the same (or very similar) UI, the "devs" probably didnt actually code much of it and just edited bits and pieces from the free model kit
The only way I think a Roblox game is a game that children should play is if the game can function where you interact with other REAL players. For example: jailbreak, bloxburg, racing games. Bad examples: pet sim X, any simulator game, any 1+ every second game.

those "simulator" games are not what simulators actually are my favorite simulator on roblox is 100% cleaning simulator and just seeing those good simulators on roblox actually made me a fan of them now i never want to look at "simulator genre" on roblox ever again.
Roblox is awesome but it is indeed in need of some proper moderation and quality control. Thankfully, there are games and communities that maintain a standard and promote truly spectacular games
If you ever want a game recommendation then I'll say forsaken is pretty fun, 1v8 killer game but the killers are mostly roblox hackers and mythos/creepypasta character (2011x,Jeff,Slenderman). And you play as some prominent characters as survivors as well as builderman, shedletsky, guest 1337 (last guest), and 007n7 coolk1ds right hand man! Did i also mention you can kill the killer as chance since his bullets deal 60 dmg, well if your team has a good strat.
The worst part is that roblox THEMSELVES hand pick these games to be a part of massive events going on in the platform. A game called "Toilet Tower Defense" is literally just a tower defense game but with skibidi toilet and it has been in a roblox event like 3 times now. It's sad that they are pretty much promoting these games all because they are popular.
they put that slop in 5 of their events they did this year nothing is good about this game tower defense simulator is actually a good one and i can clearly see all the efforts put in. even if i don't like tower defenses much, they do pretty good. unlike the toilet one, the animations are so bland and not animated enough in the toilet one.
I have some suggestions for good games that I’ve personally liked: Minus Elevation/Minus Descendance/Addition Abstract, Horrific Housing/Lab Experiment/Plates of Fate/average plate gaem Adventure Story (Remade)/BlockTales, Arcane Odyssey, Super Doomspire, Super Bomb Survival, and Find Everything (these 3 made by the same creator) Daybreak The Final Stand 2 (very time consuming and difficult I’d only play if you got time to kill) Decaying Winter Phighting (beware of interacting within the community) Azure Mines Those are pretty much my suggestions-let me know if you like them!

It’s just like a slap in the face for actual developers who make actual good content but like 10 visits while this slop gets like 10 billion or something. It’s like with UA-cam content. There’s actual games that are good like crossroads or chaos canyons but you get a copy and paste game with the same thing where you have to stay in the game and get free power ups or something
Something interesting about that survive mangos in Area 51 game that I found is they have robots that pretend to be players and randomly move. The game also has code that if you try to say certain words such as “bad” or “horrible” it will just force you to say some stupid line. The final nail in the coffin was the “feature” that forces audio to play through the Roblox client after leaving and will never stop playing until you close Roblox or join another game.

This is because little kids will click anything with enough colours and cheerful or happy emotions, this is because they run on instinct when gaming, their thoughts are essentially vaporized and since there are so many of them and they will play till they can't no more, causing this slop to come on the frontpage.
A game that i believe isnt "slop" is definitely wings of glory. The devolopers literally states before that the game isnt successful because they didnt wanna go down the slop route. The game is very well made and the combat system is great, also grinding to the more modern jets is surprisingly easy compared to a certain other game..

I have an idea about a way to fix the home screen looking like garbage, it’s not well in thought as it was just an idea I had in my head for the past few days, but I wanna share it; 1st thing to fix -Eligibility : So my idea to fix just anyone copying a game is have a sort of test game before you can make an actual game- there could be a test game section implemented where before you leave, you get a text asking if you enjoyed the game ( and it would only pop up if you played for like 20m+ so people can’t mass dislike) and after a certain amount of likes, you could make games that can make you robux and DevEx maybe. Also, to stop copying, if your game starts getting a certain amount of players and robux transactions, it’ll be HUMAN moderated to make sure it’s not copying others games, if it is, you’ll get a warning about things to fix, and if you don’t eventually it’ll get your game taken down or demonitized. And you may be asking or already typing in the replies right now, what happens if I just want to make a game for fun with your friends? Well, since I’m an all powerful tyrant with godlike powers, I have a solution: no requirements but you can’t make money from it :p 2nd problem - scummy games I’m talking about scummy games first cause I’m more interested in it. Again, my precisely articulated solution down to a tea- just human moderation lol. So games like PS99 and Pets Go! will get human moderated on their practices on gaining robux, and again if you had weird practices, you’d get demonetized and eventually the game would get taken down.

The slop hurts my eyes or ears either from the over bright colors or loud sounds the creativity in these games makes ice look like the best thing ever. BUT. the good games are so so fun to play, it makes my heart warm so much theres one game i absolutely love the characters and style of it. dispite reaching 1Billion players i rarely see it in videos about robloxam as a whole, the fandom of the game is so big too (dandys world my beloved) blocktales too, i love blocktales.
And then there's games that are good or decent and then the fandom quickly swoops in and absolutely destroys it with a community so bad that I'd say even Meme Asylum's community is better. Even MHA's community is better compared to this game, even MLP. Of course I'm talking about Dandy's World.

As a Roblox player who mostly just plays dress to impress this is all true. I used to hop from game to game and be entertained forever. Now there’s so many slop games I mainly stick to just one game.
As a former developer on this platform, there's a popular concept of building "cash-grabbing" garbage, use that money to make better projects and the games you actually want to make. I could never resort to this method, but most of the developers end up doing exactly this, and only some of them make their passion projects, since most of these cash-grab devs keep making more cash-grabs over and over again, which is why you see so much garbage on the mainscreen. And worse, Roblox not only allows it, but also promotes it. Some of the best games I know are hidden, that not many people play. Very hard to find, almost dying but still having a dedicated fanbase, those games are the real gems of Roblox. Best way to get out of this platform as a dev is to make something you love and let go. It's not worth being a Roblox dev. I found out the hard way.

I just got back into playing roblox because I wanted to play with my brother and be a real sister and he was playing a cooking simulator + roleplay that is okay, since I can troll in it and have some entertainment. But thing is, I used to play tycoons and I feel like the only form entertainment is trolling. The only good game that I play is Running From the Internet which is a competitive pvp/pvb game and improves reaction time, strategy and skill.

Evade, a nextbot parkour game that requires precise movement to survive. 5. Survive the end of roblox, an old classic game that has you surviving the city of roblox being destroyed by natural disasters, in the end only few can survive. Old roblox wasnt much different. Instead of the brainrot slop we had the old stuff like obbys and simulators who most of them were just copied or stolen. The only way I think a Roblox game is a game that children should play is if the game can function where you interact with other REAL players. For example: jailbreak, bloxburg, racing games.
Bad examples: pet sim X, any simulator game, any 1+ every second game.

my favorite simulator on roblox is 100% cleaning simulator and just seeing those good simulators on roblox actually made me a fan of them

Roblox is awesome but it is indeed in need of some proper moderation and quality control. Thankfully, there are games and communities that maintain a standard and promote truly spectacular games
If you ever want a game recommendation then I'll say forsaken is pretty fun, 1v8 killer game but the killers are mostly roblox hackers and mythos/creepypasta character (2011x,Jeff,Slenderman). And you play as some prominent characters as survivors as well as builderman, shedletsky, guest 1337 (last guest), and 007n7 coolk1ds right hand man! Did i also mention you can kill the killer as chance since his bullets deal 60 dmg, well if your team has a good strat.

The worst part is that roblox THEMSELVES hand pick these games to be a part of massive events going on in the platform. A game called "Toilet Tower Defense" is literally just a tower defense game but with skibidi toilet and it has been in a roblox event like 3 times now. It's sad that they are pretty much promoting these games all because they are popular.

tower defense simulator is actually a good one and i can clearly see all the efforts put in. even if i don't like tower defenses much, they do pretty good. unlike the toilet one, the animations are so bland and not animated enough in the toilet one.

I swear I barely playing Roblox nowadays because of those games that made for children, I just playing that sushi eating game- I just don’t know what should I play anymore like back there in 2016; I was pretty addicted to Roblox, I gotta admit. But now? I barely play it now (+ busy with college stuff)

It’s not really angry for me. It’s actually sad. It’s just like a slap in the face for actual developers who make actual good content but like 10 visits while this slop gets like 10 billion or something. It’s like with UA-cam content. There’s actual games that are good like crossroads or chaos canyons but you get a copy and paste game with the same thing where you have to stay in the game and get free power ups or something

Something interesting about that survive mangos in Area 51 game that I found is they have robots that pretend to be players and randomly move. The game also has code that if you try to say certain words such as “bad” or “horrible” it will just force you to say some stupid line. The final nail in the coffin was the “feature” that forces audio to play through the Roblox client after leaving and will never stop playing until you close Roblox or join another game.

This is because little kids will click anything with enough colours and cheerful or happy emotions, this is because they run on instinct when gaming, their thoughts are essentially vaporized and since there are so many of them and they will play till they can't no more, causing this slop to come on the frontpage.
A game that i believe isnt "slop" is definitely wings of glory. The devolopers literally states before that the game isnt successful because they didnt wanna go down the slop route. The game is very well made and the combat system is great, also grinding to the more modern jets is surprisingly easy compared to a certain other game..

I have an idea about a way to fix the home screen looking like garbage, it’s not well in thought as it was just an idea I had in my head for the past few days, but I wanna share it;
1st thing to fix -Eligibility :
So my idea to fix just anyone copying a game is have a sort of test game before you can make an actual game- there could be a test game section implemented where before you leave, you get a text asking if you enjoyed the game ( and it would only pop up if you played for like 20m+ so people can’t mass dislike) and after a certain amount of likes, you could make games that can make you robux and DevEx maybe. Also, to stop copying, if your game starts getting a certain amount of players and robux transactions, it’ll be HUMAN moderated to make sure it’s not copying others games, if it is, you’ll get a warning about things to fix, and if you don’t eventually it’ll get your game taken down or demonitized.
And you may be asking or already typing in the replies right now, what happens if I just want to make a game for fun with your friends? Well, since I’m an all powerful tyrant with godlike powers, I have a solution: no requirements but you can’t make money from it :p
2nd problem - scummy games
I’m talking about scummy games first cause I’m more interested in it. Again, my precisely articulated solution down to a tea- just human moderation lol. So games like PS99 and Pets Go! will get human moderated on their practices on gaining robux, and again if you had weird practices, you’d get demonetized and eventually the game would get taken down.
This happens everywhere not just on Roblox. That's also why people share random pictures without any context because they're getting flooded with garbage stuff on TikTok, Discord etc...

Indeed, there’s so much slop on this platform it’s unreal. There’s definitely a few gems (Regretevator, Pressure, etc) hidden within the sea of slop, but it’s like finding a needle in the world’s biggest haystack
i dont think you guys are looking at it the right way, there are still a lot of good games on roblox, pillar chase 2, forsaken, block tales, bedwars, doomspire, etc, are all great games, however, roblox is much more popular and accessible for more people, which will obviously bring more slop, its not roblox thats changing, its the world.

As a former developer on this platform, there's a popular concept of building "cash-grabbing" garbage, use that money to make better projects and the games you actually want to make. I could never resort to this method, but most of the developers end up doing exactly this, and only some of them make their passion projects, since most of these cash-grab devs keep making more cash-grabs over and over again, which is why you see so much garbage on the mainscreen. And worse, Roblox not only allows it, but also promotes it.
Some of the best games I know are hidden, that not many people play. Very hard to find, almost dying but still having a dedicated fanbase, those games are the real gems of Roblox. Best way to get out of this platform as a dev is to make something you love and let go. It's not worth being a Roblox dev. I found out the hard way.

I just got back into playing roblox because I wanted to play with my brother and be a real sister and he was playing a cooking simulator + roleplay that is okay, since I can troll in it and have some entertainment. But thing is, I used to play tycoons and I feel like the only form entertainment is trolling. The only good game that I play is Running From the Internet which is a competitive pvp/pvb game and improves reaction time, strategy and skill.

5. Survive the end of roblox, an old classic game that has you surviving the city of roblox being destroyed by natural disasters, in the end only few can survive.

No Big Deal is genuinely one of the best games I have ever played.
I can name quite a lot of really underrrated good games ( regretevator, phighting, block tales, pressure, crossovers, etc ) and even some really good well known games, ( work at the pizza place, mm2, natural disaster survival ) you just have to go through all the slop that roblox is feeding us to get to them.

i rememeber when i started playing roblox in 2016 i was shocked how many cool games there were and i enjoyed almost every game i played and saw in the front page it was very fun specially when i tried new games with friends, but now the game i only play on roblox are hidden by roblox, games that are actually fun to play
