    Good morning everyone. Thanks Andy and the AAR team for another great video. It’s a shame that rifle needs so much time and effort to get it to shoot straight. I just can’t see the target audience that a rifle at that price point is aimed at having the patience to sit pellet testing cleaning and leading in, which in general are usually actions performed by more serious target shooters, non of which will be using a £500ish rifle. Especially when you consider you can pick up a full gamo phox or gx40 package and get better results straight out of the box. I always admire Andy’s ability and willingness to always try to give the benefit of doubt and not just call a product 5h1t.

      I have remington p35 in .177 and a p35x in .22 both of which had no issues sighting in. Its odd that Andy tested the snowpeak p35 and had no problem getting tight groups. It's the same rifle ,different stocks. I've got a Walther lg400 and a weirauch hw100kt. The Remington's are not far behind these much more expensive rifles.The p35's are certainly not 5h1t.

    Just picked one of these up in .177 as I love the looks for a bullpup, mine had flyers and also intermittent notchy pellet loading from the mag to the barrel which coincided with a flyer.
    I solved it by stripping the mag and taking the sharp edge of the ledge the pellet rest on and the internal side of the hole in the mag that the pellets comes out of. Instantly solved the issue.
    On a side note the barrel and rifling are really nice and much better than I expected and is smooth all the way through, the trigger also adjusted to a very nice trigger.
    I still think the same way I used to tho and that’s these Chinese and Turkish rifles can be amazing but only if you don’t mind fettling them.

    I just bought this (the full power Snowpeak 177 version). After the first 100 shots, it got very accurate. Now I consistently get >1cm groups at 20 meters using Baracuda 8 and a Vector Veyron 6-24x44 scope (basically everything Andy recommended). I absolutly love this gun. And for only 500 euros, its madness. Thanks to Andy for the review and the recommendations! :)

    Every air rifle, or air pistol I've added to my collection, new or secondhand, gets the bore cleaned, so you start on a level playing field. In regards new air rifles and pistols, not one has had anything like a clean bore, which, at the very least means some protective coating has been applied for transportation and storage. Whilst some have been cleaned with a couple of pull throughs, others, well, a tractor to pull out the potatoes might be a bit over the top, but you get the idea 😁.

    Seems like a lot of effort (and money) to get a gun to shoot almost as good as it looks. There are PCPs out there about the same price point that are easier to work with and are far more accurate straight out of the box. Remington has just about zero air gun (all types) presence here in the USA, maybe a couple of Walmart type springers, but that's it, and after watching this, it's not surprising. IMHO, neither a game changer, value for money or performer. As an Ex Pat living across the pond, I like to keep my eye on all things air gun back home and Andy, your channel is a much watch for me, thanks for all the work you put in and excellent presentations. 😁👍

    Out of the box. On the rear of the gun is an allen screw adjustment for the hammer spring. If you turn it clockwise 3 turns the power will be in the 11's with 8.44 grain pellets. If you use 10.33 grain pellets it is just under 12 ft lbs. That's why it's in the 10's out of the box, to keep it legal

    On a few of my snowpeak guns, which this obviously is, damaged barrel O-rings caused this level of inconsistency and accuracy. That and polishing the pellet loading ramp just before the transfer port. There could easily be a tiny bit of swarf which is nicking the pellet skirts and heads. Worth checking.
    This is a very pretty gun but I got my T-rex bullpup for less than half the price of this on Spain and it weighs half a kilo less.
    Most Chinese and Turkish guns benefit greatly from a bit of polishing and finishing. Pay half the price of something more established but you probably should spend an hour or two tweaking them.
    I'll shut up now

    Hey Andy…. I have one of these…. I found that Baracuda Match works best with the stock barrel…. That being said I upgraded the barrel to a LW Classic 1:17.7 barrel…. The gun now shoots equal to my Benchrest specific gun… The stock regulator is almost as good as a HUMA AIR… You have to wait 15 seconds between each shot for it to cycle best…

  • @AllStuff-ug6me
    @AllStuff-ug6me 6 місяців тому +3

    For true accuracy testing have you ever considered clamping in something like a workbench or other device .Set crosshairs on bullseye just to check between shots its still on target ,then
    gently squeezing the trigger .Also weigh the pellets and sort .I have found so called 8.4 grain pellets 8 g 8.1g 8.2g 8.3g 8.4g 8.5 g etc this can effect velocity and accuracy by 20 fps .Remove any chance of cant with spirit bubble on scope and rifle .This kind of set up although time consuming removes human error. Just a thought take care.

    • @paavokaleva
      @paavokaleva 6 місяців тому

      I bet it's the magazine. Being basically P35, it's mags has a bit strong spring and sharp edge around the hole that pellet is pushed to the breech. It could be harsh and cut pieces off of a pellet and out from the window goes accuracy! That's why I ordered 3D printed CARM mags for my P35.

    Andy sir , really , I know you can shoot, we understand you promote, but how the hell did you keep a straight face, but if you buy a air gun out of the box even with a decent scope you should be hitting a ten pence pice even with out laying some lead at 40 meters , most air rifles are capable of hitting a 50pence pice at 50 meters springer or pcp , I would recommend this as a perfect cricket bat 🏏, remove the barrel wack a rubber grip on the air chamber, ? How many rifles have you cleaned before shooting them ??? Not me never I’m 60 , even I couldn’t make that shoot straight, dm me Andy , what’s going on really mate , it’s so obvious your not your usual self mate , respect love your vids in the air rifle community respected? Don’t thrown it away sir , ❤

    The barrels seem to let the Chinese made guns down. For that price I'd expect accuracy.

    Nah hard pass. You can get much more fir the same price from Gamo. Underpowered, pellet fussy, dodgy looking action. Like thd stock but not worth the adking price.

    Morning Andy . Well Mrs P is at home so meusli was the breakfast of the day , is it just me or does it remind anyone else of sweeping out the canary cage ?
    Andy i enjoy your reviews and look forward to Friday, i enjoyed this review but for all the wrong reasons i think . When i pen a reply i always try to be polite and honest and most of all positive and as the major negative has already been spotted by another commenter i wont repeat it. Secondly i know your a bit of a crack shot with anything from a bicycle pump filled with peas to the latest 1.5 K tack driver and this time mate you struggled .
    Do you want some meusli ?
    Dave

    I had the chance to shoot one of these at the range the other day. Not impressed. The quality, at least on the one I handled was very average. I wish they had made the engraving of the name and model the same colour - it appears to be laser engraved and not very well. The stippling is pressed and was very uneven. One of the edges on the scope rail was sharp enough to draw blood and I echo Andy's point on the pressure gauge, please don't mount them at the sharp end. This is likely to be a kids gun, and encouraging them to look down the barrel is not great, but that is an argument I have against many manufacturers. Why supply them with a scope which is totally useless - it's not drawer fodder it's bin fodder - do away with it and reduce the price accordingly (probably only about a tenner). Lastly it shot all over the place and the power was very inconsistent. One shot would be 10.3 the next 9.9 then 10.6 with the same pellets. I was not the only one shooting it so it's not just me (I am no crack shot!) and nobody was grouping better than 7's and 8's. When you look at some of the bullpups coming out of Turkey at a similar price (even less as there is no wasted money on a rubbish scope) you would not pay this one lip service. Sorry - but there it is.

    Remington no longer exists, they went bankrupt in 2020 and were bought out, hence the lower quality. It’s just a name now, it’s very unfortunate.

      None... At best this rifle should be used for small quarry. Rats to rabbits, pigeons, crows etc.
      It should NOT be used for foxes or larger. At 11.58ft/lbs it doesn't have the appropriate stopping/put down power.
      For that you will need either an FAC rifle or a proper firearm that has the muzzle energy. Something like the .17 HMR with expanding ammunition or a larger calibre such as the .22-250 or a .270 win mag.
      Do NOT use this rifle for inappropriately sized quarry, it would be extremely irresponsible and you will only do more harm than good when doing some pest control.
