Ghost types are my favorite type all of the new ones have been awesome
Paldea did a lot for the Ghost type. Made a dead dog not the saddest thing. Grevard is adorable! And I don't have friends who play pokemon, so to finally get an in game trade for Gengar was Hella dope. Didn't know until I stumbled upon the trainer and Boi was I excited.

Gen 9: Bars for days
Honestly, the collection of ghost type users we've gotten over the years are among one of the best type specialist. Most of them are absolute bangers and are among the best in their respective regions both in terms of design and challenge.
Ghost-type specialist trainers tend to be some of my favorites, even with just their design. Despite what *can* be associated with their type, all of these characters are proud or happy people. Allister may be the only exception, but he's just really shy and awkward (I would rank him an A, btw- I just think he's a good kid trying his hardest.) And Agatha is just cranky and old, but she does have her pride.
Maybe it has something to do with how Japanese culture views death and spirits (like how Yokais are pretty benevolent when unharmed.) Because, imo, if these trainers were being designed by any other developer we would be getting a lot more of the standard angsty emo/goth characters for Ghost types. Which would be a big loss given how to contrast between proud/happy trainers and creepy Ghost types is part of the fun with these characters.
This is why Pokemon is one of the most appealing francises

I'm gonna be honest, I always referred to Agatha as a Poison type trainer for the longest time before a few years ago because she always had more poison on her team that said there weren't many ghost types in Gen 1. Since I played Gen 3 during my teenage years I always liked Phoebe a lot, although ghost was never my favourite type she was the one that I held in high regard to her class of ghost type Pokémon trainer. She was the only one I really cared about until I met Ryme that is, I loved the whole rap persona and just her nickname the MC of RIP, something about it I really like and that being said, I don't mind Acerola on S tier and I would've liked to see Phoebe there, I don't understand why you put Shauntal in S tier but it's your list so I won't argue. Anyways this was a fun video to watch, hope you have a good weekend Gator and a Happy Halloween 👻🎃
Shauntal being a writer is really funny bc I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the term "ghostwriter." That little fun fact just elevates her in my eyes.
I think Acerola is my favorite of the bunch, though. She's so cute and feels like a real friend. Of course, I'm biased toward gen 7 in general.
Gotta love how wildly varied the type specialists are each Gen. Not all of the Ghost users are spooky vibes, they're all very unique.
Ryme is such a neat addition, and definitely the coolest. You wouldn't think a rapper would make for a Ghost-type gym leader, but I could see her going into a trance state while performing, that draws paranormal phenomenon to her.
Honestly I agree 100% with your ranking. Ghost specialists are some of my favorites where design is concerned
Shauntal is without a doubt my favorite. She's a total nerd and that alone makes her charming. Fantina is a close second for her refined and theatrical personality, i also love that she has a french accent in pretty much all the media she appears in as it adds onto her elegance.
All hail Shauntal, whose Dark Tales of the Shadow Ball now hits all opposing Sync Pairs, oh and Phoebe gets a Cofagrigus this Halloween.

Im actually dissapointed that Kalos didn’t have a big ghost type gym leader or Elite four.
The Ghost Maniac could be a really great choice. Then all of the regions have a type expert which is just satisfying for some reason.
The Ice type, Psychic type and Fighting type are the only types that have a type expert in every regions.
Ground has one of the least with only 4.
Agatha: Very underrated I feel. THE rival of THE Professor Oak. We need more of them interacting man, shoutouts to Masters and Adventures for doing that. I don't even think she's in the anime at all looking back? Crazy man. Ghost gran rules. Also the Bertha relation activates my Sinnoh baby neurons.
Morty: Nothing much to say here, but yeah. He got the glow up of the millennium. He really was just... Some guy in gen 2 lol. Infinitely cooler now.
Phoebe: I mean... Look at her man. There's no universe where I'm in my formative years seeing this character and not falling in love lol. I appreciate her connection to Mt. Pyre and the ghost girl bit in ORAS do be funny.
Fantina: I also used to not like her as a kid cause i interpreted her as a bossy, "i get all the lead roles in the play, don't you forget it" theatre performer type for... Some reason. But it didn't take long for me to see that's not what she is. I do like her a lot these days. Also I'm a sucker for pretty women that speak multiple languages.
Shauntal: Her design to me is 90% perfect but i DON'T like the collar thing. Probably in the minority there, but since the day I saw her wasn't a fan of it. White was my 2nd main series game too, so there's no lack of nostalgia making me harsh here, it was on sight something I wanted outta my sight lol. It's how i feel about Iono's stupid jacket thing doing too much to an otherwise 10/10 design. But yeah she cool.
Acerola: I still forget to look up how to say her name. But yeah. She's a good little bean. Was it ever confirmed why she's the E4 member and not Nanu btw? I can believe she's just filling in cause he's too lazy. Just dont remember it being stated.
Allister: No offense kid, but fit, tomboy punch wife reigns supreme. Didn't know about Masters highlighting a backstory for him though. That Twilight Wings episode was also sweet.
Ryme: Like her a lot. Dig the aesthetic, she's... Honestly kinda hot, and has nice lore on her type inspiration plus her sister being an ex leader and now a teacher. And i like that hand thing she does when mad. Very Spanish.
I got to hear Agatha’s VA do Steamed Hams at Zenkaikon this year. Lol
Outside of the two toddlers all the ghost trainers look so smashable
I'm ngl I'm a bit sad you didn't mention how the more you encounter and battle with Allister the more open he becomes in contrast to Bea being more loosened and respecting with each battle 😫

*Agatha:* badass old lady. Love how they took her grumpy look and actually made her evil in the Adventures Manga
*Morty:* he’s cool, even without Rick
*Phoebe:* cute and a bit scary
*Fantina:* her hair is goofy but her dress is beautiful
*Shauntal:* book mommy!!! Awooga!!!
*Acerola:* love her as well though a bit bias as Sun and Moon where my first games
*Allister:* he’s just kinda there. Played Sword so didn’t encounter him
*Ryme:* one of my faves in SV. Her hair braid being shaped like a skeleton arm is a pretty great design

Regarding Agatha's Poison Team; my friend pointed out to me few days ago that the Types of the E4 Members in Kanto games are based on the Types in TCG.
Bruno has Onix becuse Rock/Ground/Fighting types use the same Energy
Poison/Psychic/Ghost all use the same Energy, so Agatha having Poison types makes sense
Lorelei included a Water type for the same
And as for Lance, back in the day Dragon Type was depicted with Colorless Energy....and so was Flying Type.
I like Allister just for his name, a reference to famed occultist Allister Crowley.
Also Ryme being a singer makes me think "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo and I really need to get a gen 9 game already.
I want to see Velma Shauntal and Shizuku from Hunter Hunter hang out and read books together

Agatha will forever be the strongest
Allister is better than Morty imo. He looks cool, has a cool team. I also love that he has a mask made of cursola bits. And he looks so much better. I love how his eyes sometimes appear within the mask. Also I love his lore, much better for a ghost type trainer. Morty looks painfully bare and uninteresting in comparison.

Scarlet and Violet not having voice acting and having a Rapper as a gym leader is by far one of the biggest missed opportunities gamefreak has ever bungled up. And this is coming from someone who dislikes rap music.... Though honestly Rhyme was one of my fav gyms in the game, namely due to how fun it is to double battle.
I also find it kinda funny that Pheobe is dressed like a beachgoer and yet is the ghost type trainer. But hey i love her choice in clothing XD

I honestly hate Rhyme. And Alister is kinda lame. Still my favourite uniform and why I like playing sword more so I can buy it early for the DRIIPP.
