Nina made a good point. Officers that lie should be charged a felony. Perjury is is a felony for regular people, it should stand for police that lie on arrests.
Two felonies. It should stand double for folks with a badge.

When police are caught lying like this, they should be charged with federal charges, and banned from being police ever again.
When the pigs are in the act of doing this shit, it should be legal for the victim or a bystander to end them under the self defense/defense of another laws. We have handed the pigs and thus the state total power. You cannot under any circumstance defend yourself against them because doing so is first resisting then justification for murder. Which means you have to suffer anything they want to do no matter how compliant and or innocent you are and hope to hell that your lawyer can get you off because someone forgot to erase the dashcam or body cam footage.
The problem is police are permitted to lie by law look it up, They do it all the time in the name of investigation and of course you're not allowed to lie to them therefore do not speak a word to the police

@Linda Thompson, your statement speaks volumes. Someone has to do something to stop this corruption on police forces. I'm sure there are some KKK's on these forces as well as in Congress, The House of Representatives, the Senate, etc which makes it harder to change things when the evil is a part of the political parties. Disabling bodycams and lying on police reports needs to be criminalized immediately. If a civilian makes false police reports there are consequences. This isnt a bad apple issue, it happens constantly.
Agreed. We've confirmed from time to time again that this is no longer a "question" on whether or not there are bad apples. There ARE. Plain and simple. The question is...what are we going to do about them? I'm glad we have these discussions because bodycams became a thing because of these discussions.

You can't resist arrest if there is no crime to be arrested for. I agree, knowingly lying in a police report should result in instant dismissal, and should also be a felony offense.

The horrifying reality, is you can be arrested for resisting arrest, even if there was no crime committed.
I always believed that it was a citizens right to resist an "unlawful arrest", but the law in many states, legitimises any action by LEA's. It is becoming a police state, where the word of an officer must be obeyed, no matter if it is lawful or not.
Of course it doesn't help when the police lie so easily and are racist.

I’m not sure that makes sense unless the person were actually convicted of the crime. Even then . . . I think that could be debated, because there could be so many issues that would discourage witnesses.
My point is that those who are abuse authority and public trust in order to perform those duties should be punished more harshly for those abuses.
Actually other people who have been arrested by these officers now have a case that they were falsely arrested and that this is evidence that these deputies can`t be believed, this should put all their arrests at jeopardy and the lawyers should jump at this chance.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to apologize, to those who responded to my post, for having you unwittingly participate in a short social experiment. I am black of course but the reason I said what I said is to show that all black people don't think alike and I stead of having a conversation they are attacked if they try to express anything other than democrat or liberal ideas I think we should stop doing this and except one another for who we are and whatever ideas we may hold. I do believe the cops over reacted in this video. However, I do not think it was racial I believe it was a lack of temperament and training. I have seen police officers from an all black police force do the same thing to people of color, children, and of all races. When I was a kid we had police officers pull shotguns on us while walking home from a school dance. And when I say us I mean all of us. The officers were local and the department all black from the chief down. There are many more examples I could give but I mention this to say that I truly believe not all police interaction is racially motivated however I believe that the wrong person given a badge will ultimately take things too far if not trained properly. I served in the military and have trained with and have trained cops I also worked closely with police after I got out. I am a private investigator that specializes in security, Surveillance and a variety of investigations. But I say that to say despite all that I am black first and nothing will ever change that. But I thank whoever took the time to read all this. Have a great day.

You cant fix it because that means admitting there is a problem. You cant fix a problem if you don't acknowledge it exists.
We level laws against the system that are so harsh that violation of them is grounds for immediate dismissal. Then we boost up the system that tracks the activities of police in the field to catch those that violate and protect those that are falsely accused of violating. It's really very simple, it just isn't being taken seriously enough to get it done. The agenda in general is working too hard to keep things just as they are.
Show this over and over until the cops are arrested . If it takes 6 months , show this EVERY DAY .

By lying to the paramedics, they put her life in jeopardy by not telling them the truth. If she had a skull fracture or bleeding on the brain because of what they did, she could have easily died. This is totally reprehensible, and I agree with your guest that lying on a police report should be felony. Not only that, because they are LEOs, it should be aggravated because of their position of "trust" in the community. If perjury carries a 7 year sentence, then their sentence should be doubled for every count. Also, if they are found to have tampered with their bodycam videos by either deletion, erasing parts, deleting audio, changing the case number, etc, it should also carry this same felony charge. They should also have personal liability for their actions instead of this qualified immunity or hiding behind their department, causing the taxpayers to pay for their wrongdoing when we would throw them in jail immediately instead if we had the power. Simply horrific.

The cops ran the plates and knew the vehicle wasn’t stolen. By that time it was too late. Perceived disrespect by a police officer, a most grievous of offenses.

@Ms. Kitty Katt There's a lot we don't understand about this incident. The film does prove those deputies should not be in law enforcement. It does not prove this woman is a blameless victim, despite the narrative. We are not privy to how this confrontation escalated to an arrest.

Now I do agree resistance is resistance, but don't lose focus on trained professionals enforcing the law, that's what we are! At its most rudimentary aspects!!. FYI, we have training and tools to address this situation, and happens all too often, be it male or female!! There are times when the tools and training just do not work. This is not one of them.

Nina Turner’s suggestion that police be charged with a felony when they lie in an official report is excellent. There should be national records of all cops, and this type of infraction should be a permanent entry in that record.

It's an open and shut case, and would be even if they hadn't assaulted her. The reason they gave in their report for the stop was "the plates didn't match." If they ran the plates, dispatch will have a record of it. In which case, they already knew the plates were good. So on this alone, the cops are already at fault for two things: Violating a citizen's liberties and falsifying a report. Even in the best case scenario - where perhaps they misread the plates - they would still be at fault. On top of this, they failed to read her her Miranda Rights.

They should also be charged for aggregated assault and racial profiling. Additionally, these cops not only lose their job, but can no longer operate in any shape or form as a police, or security guard in the United States. And this criminal record must follow them wherever they go, just like child molesters are monitored.
Even if she had two different plates on her car(which she didn’t have) they had no right to treat her that way. She wasn’t being combative, she simply recorded the incident and narrated while asking the police officers why they were detaining her. Why would they even tell her to get on her stomach? She’s a woman who could be pregnant.

I don’t care what color a person’s skin is, no one should be subjected to abuse by the police. I agree that the police need to be held to the same laws as civilians. If you assault someone you go to jail. Wearing a badge shouldn’t exempt you. I’m sick to death of cops hiding behind qualified immunity, it’s nothing more than telling certain classes that laws don’t apply to them.

Instead of taxpayers paying for the sttlements of these incidents, make the officers who commit the crimes responsible for paying the sttlements. Guaranteed these bad apples will think twice before abusing their powers and maybe weed them out.
Qualified immunity and the California Peace Officer Bill of Rights makes this not possible. Also, the concept of "intent" versus what actually happens. A deputy can argue that it was his intent to control her after she slipped her handcuffs by placing her on the ground in the prone position. The fact that she was knocked out and was a victim of police brutality, the deputy can argue that this was not his intention. All very subjective. There is a case in my town where an elderly gentleman was tackled by a police officer and as a result suffered a concussion, a brain bleed, and permanent hearing loss. The "intent" of the officer was not to cause that harm. It's all very subjective and murky.

What's shameful is the black Americans don't have knowledge when they're wrong it doesn't matter what race you are what's wrong it's wrong if a race commits more crimes than any other race and it's been proven even committing the most crimes against their own race obviously the cops have to be their guards at all times. And let's not forget that every time a black American gets pulled over by the cops they are always very uncooperative and they always bring the race car.

That thought came over me when reading a response of a black woman - I quickly imagined me being her boyfriend and videotaping cops surrounding her...then the thought stopped. Absolutely no thought entertained on what I would do except knowing there's a time when our lives must be put on the line for what is right.

@ Wilotas Cazador They don't bro that too is illegal but they knew what they had done to her and that she was conscious enough to tell the doctors what they had done to her.... it would have been their badges for the rest of their lives... hospital staff have the right and immunity to file police brutality suit against cops if they bring an injured person to the hospital To be cared for the injuries.... All the woman would have had to do was tell the doctor what they had done to her and they would have called the sherrifs debt or the fbi and that would have been it for those cops.
That is why body cameras and dash cams should never be turned off or muted.
