Those women don't even realize what awesome angels they are for doing this...that one that only gets off the property maybe 4 times a year? This is ultimate dedication born out of pure love, and animals are so worthy of this from all of humanity, so entirely undeserving of any abuse, neglect, killing, discarding as if they're nothing, or worse, to be hated. Just look at those sweet, happy old dogs...they're made of love. This is a beautiful haven these people have created...all people should take a lesson.

I have seen my pets pass and I am with them on their final moments, it's only fair, they gave me joy and good times, they will stay with me in memories and the pictures that I have of them
I must have buried at least 9 dogs and I still have 7 that will live for some years until their time comes

Old dogs are extra sweet and precious, better and better the older they get, and their gray faces are so beautiful. Big thanks to these people who want to make sure no old dog is left behind.

There are angels amongst us --- These wonderful women are angels --- May they be blessed because they're giving these dogs the unconditional love and care in the later years.
If anyone is looking for a loving, loyal companion, please - please consider adopting an older rescue dog or cat. Love is ageless. One of our dear rescues is an olde Chihuahua fellow and he has health issues, but he also has infinite, unconditional love and were blessed to share his love and trust.
With all the shitty bullshit in the world its always nice to see some awesome people doing a good thing.

When pets get old it gets hard and sad to take care of them, trust me I have been through it. So the owners who can't handle it anymore send the pet to these ladies so the pet can have a happy end of it's life with people who can care for them and also with many other dogs around them.

I will never understand how people give up their dogs because they had a baby or don't have time anymore or are moving and can't the the dog with them. These people are amazing to take in these senior dogs and give them a forever home!
Well they don't have money and the dog would be neglected and they hope that in the end it's a better choice than having the dog rot away lonely and sick
Jake O we ended up at my house taking in 2 senior cats, one because a family friend had a baby and the other because my grandmother couldn't care for them, in total my family raises 8 sweet senior pets. phallfish is right in the family friend and my grandmother couldn't afford to take care of them but we could an they are very happy and doing physically better
Jake O I never understood how people can do that with thier parents put them in homes and abandon them when they get old. My parents will be under my care until thier last breath. Same with my pets !
Jake O the first thing I did when i got a dog was get pet insurance. I get 80 percent back on vet bills. It's a great thing to have got peace of mind. I also buy his food in bulk, 20 kilo bags, a natural food that is made locally. It works out much cheaper. Getting a dog is one of the best choices I've ever made. I just finished working and am taking a year off to drive around the country (Australia) with him. I want him to have the best and most fun life!

One of my goals in life after attaining wealth is to open one of these on a bigger scale and hire full time staff. Imagine what we could accomplish with millions of dollars.

Be careful big corporations or big scale projects can turn up bad because it can be hard to manage staff or get people who actually care and just want money look at nursing homes for examples :/ I feel like this on a big scale would be a horrible idea instead plenty of smaller ones would be easier to maintain for quality

We lost our 15 year old doggie to kidney failure last week - sick and old dogs take a lot of care. it has been hard looking after him but I wouldn't have had it any other way, he was part of our family & loyal to the last moment - you are all so caring to do this work. God bless you.

Canyoudigityesyoucan we lost our 23 year old cat in Sept he had terminal pancreatic cancer. We had him put to rest when we knew enough was enough for him. Love and miss him every day. :)

dirtysouthlepluv The dogs are not all from abandonment, some of them come from their owners dying, not being able to pay for medication (because trust me, it can become VERY expensive when your dog is elderly and sick.) The people who did abandon them are cruel though. :(

I have a senior pet😢he was neglected before we adopted him. Hes the sweetest and funniest little fella ever. But he can be mean he's a little pomeranian😂we love him so much😭😭💞i love senior pets and all pets they just want to love you and always be there for you especially if you have food😢😭😭

Aww! It's always the little guys who are the feistiest! I have a 7 year old Chihuahua who likes to bite my hand or food if it so much as touches him while we're trying to sleep 😓🤦 he only has a couple of teeth left though, and I love him way too much to be even remotely mad

For those in the comments stating that it is cruel to have these dogs continue living: If they are in pain every day then yes, but we do not know this let alone for all of the dogs. She does give them medication so this may also include painkillers, but since no one can verify this and since she has dedicated her life to making the dogs as comfortable as humanly possible let us not bash their efforts to have them pass away happily.
They have also given an example of how they saved a dog in the middle of its life with help from donors and her own personal money. I am sure that the joy these animals enjoy each extra day their alive may be worth something; no one walks up to a cancer patient who will die soon and says "alright, no point in keeping you alive, you're bed ridden and will die soon anyway so let's give you an injection to stop your heart and move on" (in a strange place with strange people mind you, and this is proven to be stressful for animals and some people). Now some people would want to pass artificially like that due to pain or other reasons, and others don't, but unfortunately with animals we cannot speak to them.
Yep, lost it big time at the pictures on the wall. Lost my little girl a month and a half ago, she was 18. So i know how heartbreaking it is to see our dogs get old, yet how utterly fulfilling and how comforting it is to be around the old soul of a dog (and best friend) and to know you were there for them until the end. RIP Digital and thanks to these people for doing such an incredible job.

She was a Jack Russel with a wire coat, Yes she actually lived to about 18 years old. I got incredibly lucky when i think of it now.

+cockroachafro I watched this video clip several times and every time I got all teary. Sorry to hear about your dog. It is sad when they leave us. I lost my cattle dog Ozzie four years ago, he was 12 when he passed on, he had cancer, but he had good life with his family and that what matters. My Chihuahua is 16, still active and happy, though legally blind still didn't lose an inch of her will to live. And my poodle is 13, and I am so hoping they will live as long as possible, more than anything is the love that we have to our pups that we can't imagine parting with them, the connection is strong. People that have a heart for senior dogs have compassion in the size of the whole universe. Respect to them and much appreciation.

I don't know why but I started crying while watching this. I have a senior dog, a 10 year old Chihuahua and she's my best friend. I can't imagine life without her. I want to thanks these women for giving these senior dogs a happy life. I'm going to give all 3 of my Chihuahuas all the love I can possibly give. They're my babies. 💗
Update 9/11/24: On April 30, 2019, my 11 year old senior Chihuahua passed away. She will always be in mine and my family’s hearts. She was loved and cherished from the day we adopted her as an 8 week old puppy to her final days. Until we meet again.

I'm usually super collected when it comes to these things, but damn... Lol. I got a little misty-eyed with this one. Having to say goodbye to a dog is never easy. These women are on a whole other level of kindness.

The stairway to heaven made me tear up. I lost a cat a few months ago, and I will never forget her. I have her photograph by our front door so you always see her. These women and their volunteers are heroes.
I just lost my two bonded sisters on Tues 4/5/16 at 2:30 pm. One, Grace, 11, almost 12, had latent effects of a stroke and when her sister, Lulu, 11, developed acute dilated cardiomyopathy from probable lymphoma, we sent them over the bridge together. I'm medically trained and considering turning a home into "Lulu's Gates of Grace" with my daughter and putting my anthropology alongside that since watching this!

I cared for a senior dog for 5 years. The last days was like caring for a cancer patient. But something adorable with them oldies. Calm and carefree.

lohphat Better yet, imagine if "surplus" people were packed away in Death Row prisons and executed by the thousands daily and piled in trash barrels to be rendered as is common practice in most of our shelters, while abusive puppy breeders continue making money off puppies. We need to treat ALL animals far better than we ever have, these people in this video being a good example of that, for dogs at least.
