    This is SO flippin' awesome, Bernadette!!! We have a small local uke jam, all beginners, and last night one of the players was just tickled that he finally mastered the "chuck"!! Once he got it, he was 'chucking' to every song! I can not WAIT to show him this technique! Love it so much!

    Yikes!!! About the time I think we are going very straight line you throw in a curve ball!!! I love this! It's kinda reggae, kinda Latin, kinda waltz... Just plain jamming COOL!!! I'm such a perfectionist that I'm still on day 9 of the 30 day course but this pulls on my drummer side. I'm So Happy 👏👏👏 Thank you ❣️

    Wow! Synchronicity! I'm new to uke playing but have been playing drums (casually with friends) for the past 10 years. So when I picked up the uke, I spontaneously started drumming on it whenever there was a break in the music that clearly needed percussion. I thought this is so fun and sounds like a mini cajon. I wondered if other people are doing this. Apparently they are! The possibilities of combining the percussive elements of the uke body are limitless. I'm looking forward to experimenting with some of these techniques. That's one good reason to invest in a uke with higher quality wood on the body of the instrument. Bernadette, thanks for sharing this awesome video! :-)

    Hi Bernadette, I love your videos and they helped me a lot practicing. I just started playing last week and I struggle a lot with my left hand. When I keep my thumb on the back center of the fret board, as you say, my thumb seems to slide up a lot and I loose the grip. Do you have any suggestions what I could do that this won’t happen? Thanks a lot

    • @BernadetteTeachesMusic
      @BernadetteTeachesMusic  5 років тому

      Hi Lisa!
      Try moving the thumb around to a position that is more comfortable for you. Everyone’s hands are different, so you may find a position that’s better for you.
      Also try to rest the ukulele on your lap if it’s a larger ukulele or try using a strap. Sometimes the strap helps us find a comfortable position :)
