Highlights from 5.5 months of building a timber frame cabin solo Yes, I got help with the foundation and raising, but all cuts and joinery were done by me. #timberframe #cabin
Gnarly circular saw! Reminded me of one Curly used in a Three Stooges short, though, which made me laugh at myself. Haven't seen it in...40 years but still remember it. Now ask me if I remember anything from Physics, Trigonometry, Chemistry, Calculus, etc; sigh.
Had to use trig several times on Saturday putting this structure up. That saw is big…kind of too big. Over 16”. Thought it would be a dream come true, but I’m glad I borrowed one before buying. I’ll stick to my 10 1/4” from now on
Great job! The joinery with the chisel looks brilliant and I'm glad you asked for and got help when you needed it, don't hurt yourself :)
Thanks!
Getting everyone together for the raising is the best part.

thats one big circle saw
Yeah...it's 16" and change. I prefer the 10 1/4", but the 16 looks impressive.
my wish build Japanese method house in modern design
I’m all for old work and stuff. But don’t use routers when stuff is hard to do.
🤔 Not sure I understand your comment.
You object to using a router in timber framing?
