I've heard from the soldiers that akm is a very reliable weapon and it is highly effective at the range of 300m. But yeah due to copy right issues not in production anymore but still DRDO is really advancing it's weapons tech. 👍👍👍
Sandeep, the folding butt 7.62 AR (Desi AK) is in use with the BSF. The receiver has a familiar trigger bump from the INSAS (Ghatak has this too) and the manual bolt hold open on the left side instead of the right like the INSAS (absent on the Ghatak). The gas tube is different (Ghatak has a similar gas tube) and the handguard has serrations like the East German MPi KM.
I think insas is a failure of Indian ordinance factories & a great burden for army. Army was never satisfied with insas. I think MSMC or JVPC will be a stepping stone and a base for our future indigenous guns.
trouble is our designers, producers and users have all been working apart and sometimes at cross purposes. the only time they came together was in the INSAS-1C project which the army rejected when it changed caliber of future infantry rifle. theres a lesson to be learned from this. if we can get everyone on board, we can develop world class weapon systems in less than 5 years.

Finally IOF has done a good chance to the INSAS SERIES rifles by giving them matte black finish .... Now they look a little kool advanced ... I have no idea why IOF has selected such brownish orange colour to insas nd insas LMG which r been manufactured so far ... .

Why do all state run institutions look like they are in such a dilapidated condition? That jobless guy in the background, the dirty cabin doors, the ancient paint job, the bad tiles on the floor etc. Everything looks depressingly rotten. Reeks of corruption, inefficiency and incompetence. Does anyone feel good working in such conditions? The workplace is where people earn their livelihood. Whichever babu is in charge of that place need some lessons in ethics of work and life.

I think it was specified by the users, but will have to check that one out. the colour was a straight copy of the plastic finished FN-FAL rifles.
