It’s good that you had a collaboration with one of the youtuber plantitas. One observation, though, we arr still lucky to be in the tropical zone as our plants seem to look perfect and gigantic. The climate is also one of the best factors for rainforest plants. Good idea Shaun! Cel from Phils
This is a great video! It’s so interesting the plant care in different parts of the world and how much the availability and prices differ from region to region!
This is such a clever collab well done 👏. Different climes need different plant requirements. Sooooo impressed. Hoping this will be an ongoing weekly/monthly vlog. Happy Festive Season ✨
perfect idea to show how plants do in different climates, thank you! Now I know that I shouldn't listen too much to Indonesian reocmmendations haha :) ;)
Very fun and interesting video! I like that you did a comparison of the same plant in different climates. Sean, you really have an advantage growing in a tropical region. I know you have your problems too!!
Great crossover.I love the plants both of you choose. All of my favorite plants.I don’t own any melanochrysum , that’s my wishlist plant.love your content.🍀🍀🍀🍀
Love both of your channels. Great collab. I will say I paid more for every one of these plants in my area of the USA. Melanos are just fussy plants imo.💚✌️🌿🍃🌵🌱
Hi my plants family I love your videos that you both put together I am a fan of you both and I am your plants friend from Montego Bay jamaica merry Christmas to you both
I do have frydek as large as yours, it has 5 leaves before in small 8cm plastic pot with moss+perlite, and so happy in bright indirect light. 2 Weeks ago I moved it into up size plastic pot (12cm) but with regular media, and water it when about 5cm top soil dried. Yesterday I found all the leaves turn to upside down, and the stem got rotten and mushy. When I check the roots. everything is fine, no root rot, but I found some moss still covering the lower petiole older leaves, and it where the rot and mushy stem has start. I have to pull out some leaves and only 2 leaves remain, clean all the mushy stem, and soak it in water with lil bit dishwashing soap and alcohol for 15-30 minutes, rinsing and drying out for an hour, and put it back into clean water. This morning I'm quite happy, I saw my newest frydek leaf try to rise up, but the older one still upside down and start yellowing. I think the older leaf may not survive.
yay, more more more and MORE! wow wow wow, Sean U r FAB. All this time and efforts for the holiday season. Thank YOU! keep this for break time while I watch the other video 1st! yay! Ok, now 1. where is the PLant Lives matter t-shirt is from??!!!!! OMG, its soooo cute and its black I want it! 2. Begonia maculata - meanwhile just few countries away, in little SG this plant is totally the hype right now.... sooo $$$ (everyone wants a polka dot 'plant') 3. SG, we do have hoya lovers here ... tho yes, likewise - more people are into ariods/ philo/ alocasia/ calathea/caladium. But we do have hoya collectors as we have access to different species / actually ok in term of $$ compared to ariods / philo / anthurium / calathea / etc
Guys, just information to you, is any different “melano plant” and “mican plant”, if small this plant is similar, but grow up is the milano plant the biggest with mican plant. The milano plant is kingdom plant from java...buy...god bless you.
I like your videos because you put some real thought into the reasoning of what's going on behind the plants and sometimes I can learn something interesting, but on the other hand I really dislike the "see me watering my plants, new morning routine, new makeup video, let's organize my room together" type of youtuber. It's so difficult to find good and quality plant material, and I find it quite a shame to see this type of collab. (Sorry bro)
I have never experienced spraying my plants with neem oil, and I would like to know how you are using it exactly (mixing with something else ? frequency, etc ....), thanks
Whoaaa Ive never seen curly ones before.. maybe its the cultivar/variety thats naturally curly? Or maybe the leaf is curling to adapt to your environment, and watering habits.
@onlyplants I've noticed the leaves flatten out a bit, I was giving it TOO much intense indirect light, who knew lol! It was about 2ft from a filtered south facing window and I thought it'd be a happy place but obviously not. I also noticed my epipremnum pinnatum growing stems with no leaves constantly and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, I moved it across the room and can tell it's relieved, it was right next to the begonia!
If you kill them, put the pot to one side after cutting all the leaves are cut off. Allow to dry and die. Leave for a couple of months and then give some distilled/ rain water and leave it. See if leaves grow.

Yes you can cut the runner off and a new vine will appear from a node below, much closer to the pot. Or you can wait for the runners to sprout leaves first, then cut each section of leaves off for propagation 😀
I like this method of collaboration. Everyone is heard and no distractions or side convos

Both of your maculatas are spectacularly large! Well done! Fun seeing you both together 😅
In California, the maculata does not like to dry for too long between waterings, at least in my experience. ALL relative!!

So nobodys going to talk about the fact that they both said "knock on wood" about not having any pests lmao

In the philippines i bought my
Begonia maculata is 2-4 USD (100-200 pesos)
And my alocasia frydek for 1 dollar (50 pesos)

@@onlyplants thanks I'm going to check !

How do you guys get your begonia leaves to lay flat like this? Mine are quite curly and I don't like it 😕
Whoaaa Ive never seen curly ones before.. maybe its the cultivar/variety thats naturally curly? Or maybe the leaf is curling to adapt to your environment, and watering habits.

Where did you get your Hoya M. trellis? I’m in Canada and could use one like that.
Hello I just get a roll of bonsai wire and cut it to size. They bend very easily 😀

75…? That’s easily over 1000 bucks in Australia..
I was wondering if it was okay to cut the runner. Thanks.
Yes you can cut the runner off and a new vine will appear from a node below, much closer to the pot. Or you can wait for the runners to sprout leaves first, then cut each section of leaves off for propagation 😀
@@onlyplants Thanks!
