I remember the exact moment I stopped watching this movie. It was the zombie on the ceiling part. Obviously.
11:56 That censored rant part of this review makes me laugh hysterically every time. I think it's probably the funniest joke you've ever done in a video. Absolutely brilliant.
Fun fact: there are actually different "levels" of natural immunity to viruses. It is possible for people to be resistant while not wholly immune, for people to have an immunity to the affects of a virus while still being able to carry the virus, and total immunity where the virus can not even survive within the body. Immunities can be from a variety of sources, from mutations that block the virus's vector of infection like the naturally occurring immunity to HIV, to an immune system abnormally capable of fighting against a specific virus. It wouldn't be particularly far fetched to imagine a virus which some people are "immune" to casual contact, while having that virus being introduced directly to the blood stream being capable of infecting those same people.
Timhouse yeah, resistances doesn't always equal immunities. It's clear that this group shares an immunity to the airborne variant (im assuming the virus is both airborne and blood contact based infection vector based on how people suddenly got infected en masse) but have poor immunity towards bodily fluids and open wound contact.
The T-Virus from the resident evil movie acted in a similar fashion. Became airborne and infected the entire HIVE facility. (Would probably have seen people immune to the airborne variant but a certain AI ruined that by gassing everyone.) So, yeah. Its plausible.
Also there's a form of revival of the virus. It happens when the body revitalized the virus when it's introduced to the body. I personally experienced this, with pertussis and pneumonia at the same time after getting the pertussis vaccine. I got severe scarring in my lungs for the docs not doing their jobs and that's the answer I got when I questioned what happened to me.

Can I just say I'm impressed and respect the hell out of this guy that he guides the branches of the United States military correct with sounding off and which branch does it and with the uniforms cuz he got everything right as someone who was raised fire grandfather who served in the Vietnam War he was in the Navy I just have to say I really applied this guys research it just shows you how much care he puts into his videos

"The Unnecessary Remake" *_Preach._* This movie ain't got *_NOTHING_* on the 1985 original, which is possibly my all-time personal favorite out of the original _Living Dead_ trilogy.
This movie is a tragedy.

Bud may have been a reference to CHUD 2: BUD the CHUD. If you have not seen it. It is one of the legendary tonal shifts between sequels.

I can at least explain the bite being able to effect them. Airborne viruses are separate strains than infected blood. Viruses tend to evolve over time and introducing it to blood could, theoretically, amplify that effect. It's still a stupid premise because the probability of all of them being immune to the original strain, even though some of their family members weren't, is like a million to one.

Yes believe it or not black lives matter ALWAYS. There's a nice documentry about black actors/characters in horror films that you might benefit from watching. It enfasizes how black characters are portrayed and treated in horror films going back to the times of black face when black actors weren't even a thing.

I think the zombies were smart cause they were fresh zombies. Why they would suddenly rot is beyond me. Unless the virus mutated the host, cause rips and tears in various places.
So as the zombies progress they would get dumber and more feral as time would go. And Bud, would eventually succumb to its hunger for meat, but he would be easily tamed down the road. As for why a zombie could crawl on the ceiling...
um...combination of forward energy, like it was leaping and gripping the walls..I think...it used the momentum of its own leap to move forward gripping the ceiling which would be pretty easily to break with fingers if one did not care about pain, and used it to crawl?
I feel if I put any more thought into this I would out do the amount of thinking the creators did.

I’m not sure which came first for him, but I’m glad the actor for bud has the saving grace of being lieutenant Fick in generation kill, a series in which he vehemently proved he can act better than this.
Jesus dude, you have more beginning credits than a frigging 3 hr movie. But yet, your finish product is good, especially the Hannibal Lecter quote at the end. Your grade is a : B- :D

What are they trying to ell us with having a guy looking like Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the hospital waiting room?
Most importantly, military HUMM-VEEs do not use keys. The HMMWV has an ignition switch. I know civilians and people from other countries don’t know this, but it’s a huge point of frustration
First off love the review, second agreed this movie is crap. Also I want to explain the military cutting the phone like that.
In an event of a possible contagion or outbreak (wraponized or not) the military has the right to cut the phone connections in the area to prevent possible outside interferance from possible paranoid militia (which there are some out there looking for an excuse to attack military personnel due to paranoia of hostile takeover), possible family members that live outside if the area that might try to get through quarintine area to get members out (there are those out there that would ignore protocol and risk possible containment breach just to save someone) and/or outside news media (for the hot news coverage, footage or just to bend the truth to cause an issue). Cutting phones is not to be stupid but to help make things easier for the military to focus on and if there was a breach outside innocence won't die or become infected. As for why they don't allow phones to work inside of town only is to prevent the spread if panic (usually military will inform civilians when the phones will be down to help cut down on panic) or allow the town's folks to organize, arm up and make a rush the blockades. This is also to give the military time to set up an effective blockade in case a mob of people try to break quarantine.
Like I said this movie is crap and I love your rants about it but wanted to make the telephone issue clear cause that's somewhat correct of why the military did that.

Yes am late to the party I love this guy but sometimes he forgets somethings which kind of pissed me off a little when he said "its just an arbitrary reason for the phones not to work because that's how horror movies go" I was like "dose this guy not know common sense or military protocols" like what you said its to reduce panic and not let outside sources interfere with the quarantine area like news medias trying to bend the whole situation into making it a problem or letting people call family members who might live outside town risking them to spread the infection more. Or keeping the townsfolk in check so they don't rise up in arms and start giving militias a reason to attack military personal on sight but true this movie is shit but I'd watch it regardless because I don't exactly Pick A Part every single movie I watch true yes there are some few scenes on a few movies that I catch but I don't pick a part that particular scene I just watch the movie just to enjoy myself but still thank you for putting the effort to put that in that just rubbed me the wrong way when he said that.
I hope in the future you choose to review Romeros' original trilogy... and perhaps the remake of Night of the Living Dead with Patricia Tallman was a far more badass Barbara.

Would love to see you review Stay Alive Directors cut, the directors cut leaves in the plot the theatrical destroyed. Isn’t a brilliant film but the premise is great and it is fun. Even terrified me, the first time i watched it

24:35 They tried to copy a scene from Dawn of the Dead Remake, without realising why it was so impactful. This guy meant nothing, while the dude at the roof across the mall at the gun shop was a surprisingly meaningful character without even being part of the main group.

I saw this movie on tv without knowing its title and assumed it was a completely new "of the dead" movie. I had no idea it was branded to be a Day of the Dead remake before now, because it's not even similar outside of reused character names.
Here's another strike against the movie, military vehicles don't have key type ignitions just switch type ignitions. You don't want the driver with the only key to suddenly disappear when sh*t hits the fan.
I would not mind to see Day of the Dead remake shot with the original script what was written before budget cutbacks

At least Dawn of the Dead remake had zombies and took mostly inside of the mall. Day of the Dead remake took place maybe less 10 minutes in the bunker that's it. Which was really not worth it.

The rate of necrosis in this movie irritates the shit out of me, like the movie is already irritating and completely stupid, but a body being decomposed in like 30 seconds is completely stupid considering that decomposition like that would take weeks or months to happen and it just pops up like a teenage girls boyfriend when she says her parents aren't home.
So in addition to being a generic zombie film AND a bad remake it's also attempting to ripoff "Resident Evil". Truly, they have no shame! >___

It's sad that this movie isn't actually that bad in comparison to the "new" remake. The things they do with their version of Bub are just... gross. And not in a gory way.
I'm still split on this film for some reason I want to hate it but in the end I'm like "meh" seeing it. I like some things but the rest was so bland it didn't make me mad or satisfied.

Vector effects efficiency
I saw it the one time but even watching it to completion was more than it deserved. Nothing about it was any good and at the time and even today the best thing I could say was hey at least Nick Cannon (and not the character) died.

To be fair this film may be fucking dreadful, but when I was 11 this film scared the living shit out of me.
This f'king movie... Of all the Romero films, Day of the Dead is my favorite- yes, I like it better than Dawn, and unlike many I hated the Zack Snyder remake, but even that film I can sit down and watch if I'm in the mood for a schlock zombie film. The Day of the Dead "remake" on the other hand, makes me frustrated and angry- like full on, scream at the screen angry. I watched it only once and vowed to never watch it, speak of it, or even think of it again... and now I'm watching this review. As usual, it's a spot on, well done review, but it is also bringing me back to that place of utter despondent rage.

Day is the superior Romero film. The effects work was EXCELLENT, the acting was great, the story had more going on than Dawn did, and it was just so damn grim and depressing.

Getting close to time to do a Land remake isn't it? I mean why not they remake everything else. Spiderman got something like 3 remakes in less than 20 years.
This keeps happening to Day of the Dead (1985) because Taurus Entertainment, a shitty production company with no credentials some how aquired the rights and keep trying to cash in on it. They know fans don't want it and that they can never improve on the original. They've done it here, they did it with Day of the Dead 2: Contagium and they're doing it again with yet another remake, Day of the Dead 2018. Which looks as bad as this one. They'll keep using the name and make a film in whatever film style they deem popular.
