I'm a grown man, and I can't listen to this song without getting choked up. One of the most powerful scenes I've seen in any film. The emotional melody coupled with the context of the scene and the meaning behind the song gets me EVERY single time.
Same way I feel. There are a few animes like this where there is so much build up by time the final song is played it's impossible to not be emotional.
There's an anime called Kono Oto, and in season 2 the final performance will blow you away.
Count me in. It was funny to see the disbelief of the viewers to se a 6"5 270 guy cry like a baby, and couldn't care less 🙂

The cheapest way how Hosoda gets emotional response from the viewers is this pathetic garbage. In every other film he directed (including his masterpiece Wolf Children) he was able to deliver powerful emotions by the acting of his characters, not by singing some lousy song.

This scene gave me such immense chills man. Seeing her expose her identity and just sing her heart out for the ones she loves, and the way every single person joined in for her and just chanted and accepted her for who she is was so powerful 😭💙

Uff man, tanto me gusto Belle que fui dos veces a verla en el cine en la misma semana. Esta escena donde descubre su identidad y canta es epica, es espectacular, un deleite visual. La voz de la cantante y la canción son de otro mundo. Es una obra maestra. Como me gustaría ver Belle como si fuera la primera vez y emocionarme de nuevo. 10/10

No matter how many times I watch that scene I always let out a tear, because it is so beautiful. She is trying to save lives while staring down so many, she is trying to be brave for others when she is so scared, and I just unconsciously say "you can do it" or "sing, please sing."

The movie did have pacing issues but man if the visual and music weren’t superb. This songs specifically was a emotional roller coaster to the end when Kei realize Suzu was telling the truth.

I just saw the movie, for the first time. I can’t stop listening to the songs and to her voice. I can’t stop feeling them. I can’t stop crying. I guess I’m in love with this masterpiece of Art. And I feel so, oh so grateful for watching it. So full of gratefulness and love.
It definitely changed my life, in a way I’m yet to discover.
I felt as if I was part of this scene too, as if I was singing too, as if my inner light was shining too.

I don’t care if this movie has a messy plot- i love it to bits, I love it so much- I can’t get Belle and her music out of my mind, alongside a silent voice it’s been the only things I’ve thought about-
I love and relate to Suzu lot, I adore the visuals, Belle is gorgeous, BUT THAT MUSIC IS WHAT GETS IT- both the Japanese and English singers have angelic, ethereal singing voices.

Técnicamente la escribió para su madre pero la cantó para Kei/La Bestia usando los recuerdos de su madre como motivación para hacerlo, ya que al final ella comprendió que ella estaba haciendo lo mismo que su madre cuando la "abandonó", ella también estaba salvando a los hijos de un desconocido.

Belle really reminds me of myself, when I was 6 I was lively and wanted to open up to people, however, after my grandma died I was never the same again, that was probably what happened to me, I became introverted and shy around people but I heard of this app called Starmaker and I started to sing just like Belle and I wanted to figure out where someone I knew was.
