I tried this trick and result is mind blowing......I followed your all steps and got busy croton plant like you..... Thanks a lot....I m very happy......
What I appreciate the most about your videos is the updates. It is the updates that give your followers the confidence to try growing plants and caring for them. Thank you very much!
Yes the video taught me a lot. I bought one of these plants, it has long legs . You gave me good advice on how to take care of my Petra croton. Thank you.
I love your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to record all of this footage! It’s so great to see results and have a timeline. I’m sometimes very impatient with my cuttings, but your videos always calm me down ;-) cheers from Germany!
@The Queenston, Thank you So So much for your words and for watching from Germany, I truly appreciate it :-) I try to provide updates in most of my videos as this way, viewers can see the complete results. Thank you once again and good luck with your cuttings :-)
I love the efforts you take in showing before and after, and details on WHAT fertiliser for each plants. So many do not do this. Would love a video on Cordyline improvement. 🙏
I have several, about 15 years old each. Every summer they go outside and get rejuvenated as they love brighter light than most of us can deliver, in Canada, in the winter. (It’s the bright light that gives the leaves their colour, if you didn’t know.)
I have done this many times it’s super easy crotons are very forgiving plants I put cut pieces in deep water in clear glass outside with indirect sun and only add water when it’s below the stem and have new roots about three inches long before I plant them
Thank you so much for your kind words, highly appreciated! I am sorry for the late response! Wish you all the best and hopefully soon your plant would look beautiful too!
This was an awesome video! I learned about everything I was hoping to. I do have some new questions though, mostly related to pruning. So, I will be looking into your other videos for that!
Hello Mr. Gardening Upbeat, Thank you for sharing your knowledge how to take care and propagate the legging Croton plant 🪴 😊 😀 I have only 3 plants. They appeared fine. It will be my next project to make few plants and they will be in the ground. May GOD always bless you my friend ❤
Thanks ...I did the hard pruning of my leggy croton which was also going all green. I tried notching earlier and though a little growth emerged but nothing much happened after that. After hard pruning and replanting the cuttings it is now bushier and the leaves are also rich in colour.
Wonderful! I'm hesitant to do this because I have already put this plant through enough and I'm surprised its still alive. But I will go ahead and try to this. Prayerfully it works.
Looking out for a video on propagation of leggy crotons..glad I found this..I like the way you do followups on the progress of the propagation of any plant you take... thanks..
Muchas gracias por su vídeo, estaba buscando justo alguna información que me ayudara a entender porqué mi croton se alargó y peló tanto. Ahora ya sé que hacer para rescatarlo. Saludos.
It likes humidity and a bit of sunlight. August/September is fine. You could also try doing it by March and spray a little water on its leaves once a week. It’ll be humid enough to have healthy growth
Thanks a lot for sharing this informative video... Even I had a leggy coroton that is about to touch the sky... Saw your this video few days back, tried the same thing with my croton as well... And guess what there are visible shoots growing up in the Parent plant thankfully... Not sure, but really hopeful that the cutting will also shoot up soon... Really thank you so much for this explanation and update, it gives moral support, strength, assurance, confidence & encouragement to go ahead with prunning... As you said 'Never feel guilty about prunning the plant'... Got wonderful results... Thanks again... Take care and God bless you... 🙏😇🌲
I luv Crotons! Have 5 varieties 😊 I tried putting a cutting directly in the soil and it grew leaves already. Will try prunning 2 of my crotons to make it bushier. Thanks 😊💚🌿🌱
I screamed a little when you did the first cut on the leggy croton. But after seeing the final product I see that the pruning did help. Still, I've never pruned my plants like that. I'll be apologizing to them as I cut/ prune. I have a mammy croton who is getting leggy and needs more color.
@Monica X, I can totally feel you..and it's not just about Croton, I feel bad to prune any plants. But, whenever we grow in pots (as we don't have lots of space), we need to prune them to keep them in shape. Anyway, the harsh truth is that they don't want to be grown in pots or in containers. But at the same time, we are not doing anything bad or wrong by growing plants in pots. Plus, we are really doing great thing and that's why, no need to worry about pruning :-) I have many plants which are around 4-5 years old and for all those, I need to prune them on yearly basis as I am growing all of them in pots. If I had land, of course I would have grown many plants directly in ground. Happy Gardening :-)
Thanks I have a learnt how to grow it now, without soaking it in water, I put in a pot directly and after a week all leaves dried, now watching this video, kept in water, hoping it will grow
Great video bro 👍. Congrats. I also have few varieties of kroton which I recently purchased, please do tell about fertilizer to be used and in what duration. Its rainy days in my place.
Very good video. As I am new gardener pl tell after dipping the cuttings in water at what intervals we should change the water. We should keep the same in light or shade. What is the best time to start this process in Delhi.
Thank you so much for this video. This is what I need because my crotons are now leggy. What will I do with my other crotons because they don't change color even if they're under the sun. When I bought it, it has diff. colors but now only 2 colors dark green & little brown.
I pruned my gold dust, all the branches I dipped in rooting hormone and potted it in cocopeat, it was a 100%success.this time I am trying the same thing but potted them with the mother plant. Let's see what happens ☺
@Manish Rakundla, Thank you very much for your feedback Sir, appreciate it. Sure, you can do in March and it's the best time to do...Roots developing time - would depend on many factors but you should see some changes within 15-20 days. Hope, I have answered to your query, thank you once again :-)
Your plant came out really beautiful and healthy. But what came out of the main stem of the plant. Did anything grow from that? I would be so afraid to cut a plant off like that Very nice outcome though.
i tried this a month or two ago and i cannot believe its workinggg roots and leaves are sprouting!! i thought my burning bush croton was a goner but there is still hope🙏
Nice video quite informative.I brought Croton from bursary planted in 12 inch pot with garden soil and compost, but found leaves are becoming yellow and falling in 7-8days.Waht to do pl help.
Good work well done, I’m wondering if you can help me out, my Croton lost all it’s leaves but I still can see some green stems at the bottom and the top of it, so basically it’s just a long leaveless leg.. what shall I do ?
@Yas B, Thank you for watching the video and plz wait for some more days...Croton plant usually starts growing well from Spring :-) At this time, plz try to provide your plant enough bright light or even direct sunlight. Once you see some movements in your plant (like new growth), you can prune it and if possible, please change the soil. Surely, your plant would start growing very soon, Good luck :-)
Hi! I am ready to do this process on my plant so I have re-watched your vid. Only 1 question... what attention did u give the original stem to encourage the new growth and branches? I
