    When you say "pinch", are you actually pulling the leaves off or just bending them? I ask this because I don't see any leaves in your hand after pinching.

    If u cut the lower, older leaves, will it branch out from there and continue growing in the lower area? Or will it just stay bare down there?🤔I have a couple leaves that don't think too great LOWER the top leaves a re big and beautiful, ive had it for a yr or so and I've never trimmed it and its never dropped a leaf but the lower leaves look worse than the new.

    I have a croton plant which is 3 ft high. it consists of 3 leggy stalks. Each of the stalks are bare until they get to the top where the leaves tuft out. Should I hard prune all three stalks back to "sticks" by cutting off all the foliage, or is it too late to make this plant bushy again? This is a curly leafed croton.

    • @GardenTricks
      @GardenTricks 3 роки тому +3

      You may try this one of the stalks. Cut it and use its top 4-5 inch stem for rooting it in soil. The portion below it can be put in water to root.

    Namaste! Thank you for this informative video!🙏I have a question and I hope you can help me out. I have a 3 feet tall croton plant that I recently brought indoors. I want to make it bushier without hard pruning it. It has a single tall stem and thin, twisted, sparse leaves. I have been generously watering it, placed it in full sun, and have been adding used tea leaves once in 2 weeks as fertilizer. Is my plant naturally sparse-leaved or am I doing something wrong?

      Based on your description, thats not an infection, those are mites. My croton was once infested with those. I initially thought it was mold or something too until I thought I saw something move. I had to use rubbing alcohol on a Q tip to remove those things. I'm sure there is a less tedious process though. Also, I sat it outside because I read that ladybugs will eat the mites as well. My plant is no longer infested.
