Best video on pinching I've seen on YT. It shows where, what, and how to pinch. Nice!
Wow, your Crotons are SO beautiful-thank you very much for all of the excellent information & advice. Hopefully now mine will grow to look as lovely as yours…🍃🪴🍃
Good video Sir. Very informative. I’m new, I just cut a few upper branches from my friends Gdn. If I cut from lower part of plant, can I propagate from this also ?
Yes, upper branches will definitely root easily in soil and also in water. The lower branches will take longer to root. You may like to watch my this video

Thank you for the helpful video. What window will the croton thrive best at? East, west, or south? Thank you!
Where you get morning sun only or place the plant in bright indirect light for bright colors.
The Best Is Pinching Method.. I always do it on my 7 pots of ELeonor Roosevelt Crotons And I've been doing this for 11years
When you say "pinch", are you actually pulling the leaves off or just bending them? I ask this because I don't see any leaves in your hand after pinching.
Right? I was about to go pinch my plant like I was back in first grade. Lol 🏃♂️👌🏃♀️
If u cut the lower, older leaves, will it branch out from there and continue growing in the lower area? Or will it just stay bare down there?🤔I have a couple leaves that don't think too great LOWER the top leaves a re big and beautiful, ive had it for a yr or so and I've never trimmed it and its never dropped a leaf but the lower leaves look worse than the new.
I have a croton plant which is 3 ft high. it consists of 3 leggy stalks. Each of the stalks are bare until they get to the top where the leaves tuft out. Should I hard prune all three stalks back to "sticks" by cutting off all the foliage, or is it too late to make this plant bushy again? This is a curly leafed croton.
You may try this one of the stalks. Cut it and use its top 4-5 inch stem for rooting it in soil. The portion below it can be put in water to root.
Can you tell me the specific variety of this Croton in your video? I'm trying to find one but just keep finding gold dust and star dust croutons, not like yours. Yours is so gorgt
It is Petra croton. I grew this plant from a cutting from my friend's house.
I’m a beginner in growing and caring for plants. What is meant by pinching plants and how much do you pinch ?
My plant like this , all the new growth the leaves are green. How can I get the leaves to have color like they were when I bought the plant at the nursery?
The color of the new leaves are always green, but by time they change color. Keep the [;ant in bright shade.
😍😍😍😍
If your cuttings did not root, please try again. The cuttings will fail if any of the requirements are not met.
Namaste! Thank you for this informative video!🙏I have a question and I hope you can help me out. I have a 3 feet tall croton plant that I recently brought indoors. I want to make it bushier without hard pruning it. It has a single tall stem and thin, twisted, sparse leaves. I have been generously watering it, placed it in full sun, and have been adding used tea leaves once in 2 weeks as fertilizer. Is my plant naturally sparse-leaved or am I doing something wrong?
Sun is not good for most of the croton plants. Please go throuh my video on how to care for crotons

This is a great video. Would you please tell us the name of the fertilizer you use and how often you use it?
Thanks. I feed only cow manure at the start of growing season of croton.
Are you pinching pieces off or making a small cut by pinching. Your hand covered , so can’t tell
How do you pinch off the leaves? I can't see what you are doing?
Just press the growing tips between your thumb and finger and cut (pinch) them.
@@GardenTricks can you do it to the older, lower leaves? I thought u said do it to the new leaves...
@@plantgurugangsta7299 If you pinch the tip of the older leaves, then it should promote new growth there.
Hi, my crotan was growing well but all of a sudden the leaves started wrinkling and falling off, please advise what to do

Which season is good for pruning croton plant
When the plants actively growing, so the new growth appears quickly. If you prune at other times, no harm but the plant will respond only in the growing season.
please state the particular potting mix which is most important in your video.
You can use any potting soil, that should be sandy so water drains out quickly. You may add sand or perlite to make the mix free-draining.
I used sandy soil in my croton plant which was not beneficial but I have seen you're used something else as potting soil.
@@dwarikanath1958 I use a mixture of normal potting soil, cow manure(15 percent) and river sand (15 percent) in all my crotons.
Must i use Neem oil to wipe the leaves although i don't see pests on my croton leaves??? Is Neem oil odor not harmful for the health if breath?
There is no odor of neem oil in such a small concentration. Spraying neem oil also acts as preventive to pests, so no harm even if you di not see any pests. Good luck.
My croton is bushy and heathy but has some white cotton like infection on the back of some leaves. I spray neem oil and washing liquid diluted in water once a week but still there.
Try baking soda spray. Mix half tsp baking soda in 1 liter water along with some dish washing liquid soap and spray on both sides of leaves.
Based on your description, thats not an infection, those are mites. My croton was once infested with those. I initially thought it was mold or something too until I thought I saw something move. I had to use rubbing alcohol on a Q tip to remove those things. I'm sure there is a less tedious process though. Also, I sat it outside because I read that ladybugs will eat the mites as well. My plant is no longer infested.
What type of fertilizer is in this video? What is the brand name of the fertilizer?
I use general purpose npk slow release fertilizer and Powerfeed liquid fertilizer.
Does it mean new buds
@@neilhamilton2621 No. If it is only a single stem, then first prune it. The plant will ten grow a few branches. When the new branches grow to 4-5 inch long then you can cut them again at the tips OR just pinch the growing new leaves.
Artificial plant lag raha hai bhaijaan
प्लांट बिल्कुल रियल है और ऐसे कई प्लांट मेंने बनाए हैं क्रोटन प्लांट की यही विशेषता है कि यह आर्टिफिशियल दिखते हैं. The croton plants shown here are all real.
It's a real plant. Anyone can tell from your comment you know nothing about plants. Go take a horticulture course, you might learn something.
How to make your croton boosie haha
