Kansas student here! The reason the logo was changed to look more friendly in 1946 is because the university wanted a logo that better reflected the attitude of America after WW2. That's why we refer to the 1941 Jayhawk as the "Warhawk!" Great video and rock chalk!

Sailor Bear never should've been changed. There's a phenomenon callled "Baylor cringe" which, as an alum, I can tell u that's a real thing. The 1997 logo at 2:55 is a perfect example. No team ever performed better bc their logo was "scary." I'm a huge fan of cartoon mascot logos bc shouldn't this be fun? It's a school logo not a seal for a governmental agency.
The WVU logo is probably the best in the NCAA. It is so simple it can be used outside of sporting events and slapped on anything. When I was going to Pittsburgh, we went through Morgantown and they have these weird traincars going around campus with the WV logo on it and it goes so well. I can slap it on anything and it won't look bad.
I am a KU graduate and my brother played football there from 1960-1965. I think the jayhawk is the best because it’s one of a kind. There are many, many schools that use wildcats, tigers, bears, etc so “our” being unique is am besten.
Just curious, how should TCU lean into the frog logo more than having it on their helmet? Also, Utah’s isn’t a before and after. The feather drum is still the primary logo. The block lettering is pretty blah, but I don’t know that a helmet gets any better than the drum logo (I prefer it without the stripes though).
I suppose I should have been more clear. I wish TCU would lean into the horned frog in their *primary* logo which is the one featured at number 16. I do love that they incorporate the horned frog into the helmets and uniforms, but feel it should just BE the primary logo or at least incorporated fully into their primary logo
I also am a fan of both ASU’s sparky and fork logo 😈🔱 honestly they have the colors knocked down… I like some of their new uniforms and of course their traditional uniforms always go hard 🔥

Osu has many helmets logos. Over all we should be higher. Piston pete, badge with wire amoung other. The one you use is the 80 reto. The 60 cowboy bronco is cool.

The POWERCAT was created when Bill Snyder came. He wanted a logo that didn’t have to say KState. Everyone would just know! Over 30 schools use the powercat! Of course people recognize the jayhawk. It SAYS ku right on it! It is a bird and not even a tough bird!!

Cincinnati logo isn't too simple - it's perfectly simple and I'd say darn near the best of the bunch.
