    God bless you for sharing this!! My husband is in the early stages of chronic kidney disease and tomatoes are his kryptonite. Now, I have an option for him and homeopathic doctors use papaya to heal the kidneys!! Win:Win!! TY I have been trying to find some way to substitute tomatoes for him. I also need to share this with my niece who can't have lignons. Wow. :-)

      @@RealWorldAIP I will have to look. I have tried several of them for him and that is another hard one. I have found that if I give the sauce "sausage" flavors, he prefers those. He can't have the sausage, so I include sausage ingredients. He was used to my tomato/sausage sauce which was always a special treat for him.

    You can use the papaya seeds. Dehydrate and grind them, they are used for peppercorn substitute and is helpful for those with diverticulitis

      Donna McCulloch AIP says ya can’t eat seeds I think. I was wondering about the ingredients in the balsamic vinegar cuz they all said “grape must” and when I googled it says it contains the seeds of the grape. And I know I’m supposed to avoid seeds so I gotta find out more about that too

    The reason I avoid tomatoes like the plague is because just a small sliver of one will put me into agony for about four to six hours while it passes through my system. Feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife. Made the ones with the mushrooms tonight. Looking forward to tomorrow and experimenting with them. Thanks Stacey!

    I appreciate your research, Stacey 😄 My salsa is very popular among loved ones and I miss it myself. I hope I can make it work with papaya. BTW I started using cronometer like you suggested. I exceed in every category except calcium and omega 6s. What do you suggest I eat to increase these? I'm wondering if this will be the fix as to why I'm still so tired and having flares over 90 days in on the elimination phase 😖 I was slowly but consistently improving but the last few weeks have been rough. I appreciate your advice! ❤❤❤

    • @RealWorldAIP
      @RealWorldAIP  5 років тому +1

      There could be so many reasons for fatigue and flares on AIP- a possible intolerance to an AIP food maybe? When I started I was reacting badly to bone broth, gelatin, collagen, kombucha, all histamine rich foods, so I felt awful until I figured that out...are you working with a functional physician? Would want to rule out underlying infection, dysbiosis, thyroid issues..Sometimes we take in the right amount of nutrients but can't absorb and utilize them properly because of enzyme deficiencies, low stomach acid..could there be any possibility of gluten cross-contamination? Mold exposure? Maybe less AIP treats, less fruit, try upping complex carbs if they are under 75g...eat simply and journal symptoms... include liver, shellfish and wild salmon always....
      You can increase calcium by eating bone-in sardines (which also add omega 3!) Leafy greens too.
      Being short on omega 6 is rare, usually people aren't getting nearly enough omega 3. There is loads of omega 6 in pork and poultry.
      Those are just a bunch of random suggestions that came to me. Please consult a qualified physician to help get you on track to feeling better💗💗

    • @TerryElisabeth
      @TerryElisabeth 5 років тому

      @@RealWorldAIP Thanks so much, Stacey! I will see my doctor on Tuesday. I think I might have the histamine issue because I had a terrible response after making bone broth. I've been surprised that I'm short on omega 6s too! However I haven't been eating chicken or pork ... just grass-fed beef and salmon. I'll be glad to add those in. I'll have to find sardines that aren't canned because I'm allergic to nickel and therefore can't eat any canned food. Thanks again, Stacey. Having support from people like you make me very hopeful ❤❤❤

      @@TerryElisabeth hopefully your doctor is familiar with histamine intolerance! A conventional Dr. might not get that..On the fats, check out the omega 3:6 ratio on the bottom, if you are in the green there and getting enough total fat you might not need to go out of your way to eat more omega 6. I'd have to research how they came up with that rda for that one! Good luck with your appt!💗

      I don't react to conventional beef, but they raise those cattle in factories, feed them gmo corn and soy, pump them with growth hormone and antibiotics...grass fed beef has more omega 3's and healthy CLA. I just eat less beef overall so that when I do I can afford grass fed because I am on a tight budget. I never pay more than $10 lb for grass fed and I have found ground grass fed for $4 a lb at my local price rite. Wal-Mart has grass fed beef for decent prices too. Hope that helps!💗

    I’d love to make this. I’ve seen 2 kinds of papaya in the store, very large yellow ones and smaller green ones which I was told are for baking. Yours looks like the green one. Does it need to be very ripe or is it kind of hard?

    Good day! Please, clarify, why don't you use plum or strawberry to make tomato sauce substitute? That's sour enough. You just need to put some spices in it like: fresh garlic, cilantro, ginger powder and smoked salt.

    • @RealWorldAIP
      @RealWorldAIP  5 років тому

      They might be too sweet. The plums we have in the US aren't sour. Strawberries have a strong berry flavor I don't think you'd be able to mask. Papayas are less sweet and more flavor neutral. For "tomato" sauce I use beets and carrots or squash. I use papaya if I need slices or chunks.
