    Great Video. Thank you. I'm lucky to have a herb garden in the summer. Buying fresh herbs can be costly and I hate it when they go to waste. If I realize I'm not going to use fresh herbs that I've purchased I blend them with olive oil and freeze in cubes or I wash and chop them up and make a herb green salad. I still really miss the hot spices but reintroducing nightshade's has been a total fail for me. You've inspired me to try more Ginger ;)

      Don't you miss having an herb garden in the winter? I hate it! Everything is SO expensive in the stores, but it's great that you preserve them. And yeah, try the ginger - it's awesome for that kick!

      @@MicheleSpring I do miss my herb garden. Some things make it thru the winter here in Pacific NW, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf...I still have sage and oregano! What am I complaining about? :)

    Thank you for this and all of your videos! It's great to know more options on AIP. Like mostly I just make the easiest flavoring: salt and lime juice. Tastes great but gets old XD
    Thank you for all the time and energy you are putting into your channel, helping so many people to get closer to remission!

    On Lemongrass... If you grow it, it's a beautiful grassy bush. You could add it in landscaping and eat it too!

      You're welcome! It's funny isn't it - not a long list but easy to forget what's actually ON it.

    Hi Michele. I'm a new sub. Trying to live with Hashimotos. Can I have curry on AIP? Why cant I have nutmeg on AIP?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  3 роки тому

      Welcome! So you can have curry but you need to make it with your own blend of curry spices as most store-bought curry spices include nightshade spices like paprika. I've loved this blend: paleoonthego.com/blogs/foods/nightshade-free-curry-powder-aip-friendly
      And then for nutmeg, it's because it's because it's a seed, which we eliminate due to their potential to worsen leaky gut and feed bacterial overgrowths. Plus they are common allergenic foods - so this being an elimination diet, it helps uncover that. But Mace spice is a great alternative that many, including myself, actually like better than nutmeg. It's the outer red webbing around the nutmeg seed that's been dried and ground and tastes just like it, only I think, a tad bit more flavorful!

    I see onion powder listed on AIP spice lists. Are these actually allowed since onions aren't allowed?
