I discovered Mammut through the TV series Dark Sands and came here to hear more, great music in both English and Icelandic, thanks KEXP.
I absolutely love how every time she reaches the end of the song, she just stops and breathes and opens her eyes, as if she was coming out of a trance.
This band has made solid contact with my musical sensibilities.
Fantastic performance, some songs are even more intense than on their albums. This band is magic!
Here again after 5 years, love this
Great sound, shout out from the UK
Awesome live performance. Fantastic music band. All the Icelandic wildness is in the singer eyes.
liking their sound!
so excited to hear her beautiful voice in English! finally, ugh n.n!!!
KEXP never lets down!
this is awesome!
Saw them at Sebright Arms in London. Spellbound just about describes it.
I love her rrrrrr.......
Icelandic amazons, all of them, wow! Beautifully Bjork-ish, yet different. I like.
arrrggghhh, c'est trop bon. Thanks
8:50 gives me chills...
so many bands so little time... but this one is worth listening to.
One of the downsides of the internet....... you will never get to listen to all the music :P
LOVE
this is nice!
in a summer filled with nothing but lots of suffering they stand out on the other
end of the pleasures of life
Great!
They are good.
They are amazing!
thoroughly beautiful...magical and so real ❤
Great band! Thank you KEXP.
Cheryl you have magical eyes ...i have noticed.
Reminds me Bjork in the Sugarcubes. Love this sound!!
I prefer the songs in Icelandic... especially Salt!
This is one extraordinary band.
this band it's so fuckingawsome
cool stuff :)
Great sound, I remember the first time of Bjork.
Premium product
is this a tribute band to bjork? they are heavily influenced, at least the vocals
i love them but songs in icelandic sounds way better :)
hún er svo ómótstæðilega sæt, og röddin svo falleg. elska hana
it's not the same in english...but i still love you mammut!!!!
omgggg I just realized the host is just like Tree Trunks from AT
Still kinda weird to hear Katrína sing in english when you are so used to their Icelandic songs.
the blue nile meets bjork, for me anyway ;)
i like
should i say.. i prefer their songs in icelandic anyway ..
Her voice reminds me of the singer from Flyleaf
Ok cold wave like 80
Salt is definitely better in íslenska. But amazing performance.
Asa I want to marry youuuuuuuu!!!!!
They're not bad, but I can't get over how much they sound like Bjork. I guess it's an Iceland thing.
It's a bit the same thing with Ólöf Arnalds, and Björk have sung a song with her. If it was a man you would maybe think of Jonsi of Sigur Ros instead.
+MrGrunge88 @I came to the same conclusion when I heard them for the first time at 9 A.M. Sounds a bit different the second time around-in a weird way it doesn't feel like they are trying to copy the sound. Björk or not, great musicians, sounds awesome :D
+MrGrunge88 The lead singer is actually the daughter of Kukl bassist, Birgir Mogensen. Bjork was the singer in Kukl when she was younger.
In the same way anyone of a distinct tonal culture sounds similar to another. Jonsi, Olof Arnalds, etc.
nice cleft chin
Great empathy but less outcome.
Put a voice to something obscure and you're a musician.
Shake yourself and you're a reality star.
Film something and you're a movie star.
