God Bless you Tim. You have really helped me heal so much. Self-Discipline for me means loving myself more and more, and to do this work for me. It's helping me in all areas of my life.

What I have realized after 20 years is that knowing something doesn't do much. It doesn't mean anything at all actually. What one needs is self control. Just knowing that smoking is bad, or sugar is no good doesn't help. My self discipline is horrible! I try to change that since 20 years and I don't get anywhere as I always fall back.

This one's on repeat. It's funny, being high functioning, and making progress on a lot of things. The thought of discipline as "Doing things when I don't feel like it" and "Persistence is discipline in action" really stuck with me.

These videos help me feel insane but more sane at the same time because it reminds me of how far my mental health healing has to go, however it also reminds me that my physiology is playing out the way that it needs to in order to communicate to me that there's pain there. Thank you for the step by step explanation of a cycle I experience currently and have struggled with forever.

This was very needed. Great explanation, including range of issues, and thank you for tying it together to other teachings and steps to implement. I understand now what's going on inside me and what to do.

17:14 a lot of this is in my blindspot - i had SOME good limbic inputs for happiness but I was born with a pre frontal cortex design from a BPD/CT/holocaust survivor parental brain hardware blueprint and then programmed with their mentally ill software. So my shame, guilt, lack of self awareness and limbic inputs and inability to self regulate created a contradictory combination of strengths and weaknesses I could not see through or around. Until THCA+CBD+psychedelics over the last 4 years and now, finally, Tim Fletcher's content.

I have no problem with self-discipline. My only problem is when others try to discipline me according to their desired expectation of my behaviour.

40:35 self compassion to REGROUP from failed discipline should come from cortex brain NOT limbic brain. otherwise the LIMBIC "self compassion" is to quit.

You can look up one of his needs videos.
It is somewhat complex, all of these areas we must be filling our own buckets.

@@kathy1001 try doing mindfulness first , then do self awareness exercises, then do a inventory of how your stomach feels , like can u feel butterflies sometimes. If u can feel your body then reewatch and see how u feel, this is sound advice_ compassion for sharing our limitations_ I get it

I'm listening to all his stuff. I'm not feeling this one either. First one I've felt that way about. . .but I appreciate these videos greatly. Maybe I just don't like the idea of self discipline lol
