omg I remember going to my first spoken word in NYC at the Apollo and you were reading this poem. thank you so much for introducing me to poetry.

rats are the lowliest and most despised of all creatures, my love. if they have purpose, so do we all.
I had the opportunity to listen to her read this poem live, she is truly amazing in person and the experience was incredibly inspiring.
Wow that was awesome. I came here seeking a poem I once heard about a man's beloved rat. The other side of the coin. The pet rat can save and change people's lives.
