@@Onelove2000 The irony is Love was a Lafleur pick mostly. Lafleur was scouting Love before he even landed the Packers HC job. I forget the exact connection but something like Lafleur's old college roomate was one of Love's college coaches or something like that. Tyler Dunne talked about it in one of his articles about Love. If not for Lafleur, I doubt Love ever gets picked. That being said, Gute does deserve all the credit for pulling the trigger.

100% this. Love obviously had some struggles he had to get through too, but it was the entire offense that needed to get it together. I respect the fact that even on plays where the receivers made Jordan look dumb by running a wrong route, he never once blamed them in the media for it. (so many of his early ints weren't even on him) Just took responsibility and moved on. Such a great show of leadership and to me is one of the reasons they were able to turn it around.

But the circumstances regarding that Packers offense in the middle of the season had several variables including that adjustment period where LaFleur the play caller was trying to get Love and the offense on the same page. A strong arm for a quarterback can make up for a lot of weaknesses. Like you say Jordan is really good throwing off his back foot. Now I don’t think a QB should make a living from it - it’s harder to be consistently accurate - if you don’t have a strong arm the ball will simply flutter in the wind and get picked. Obviously a strong arm makes tight-window throws more possible as well as the ball gets there quicker and the DB has less time to react. But Love is on his way it appears. I have Green Bay as a Dark Horse in the NFC this year.

The back foot throw and off balance throws seem to be a GB staple. I think they can pull off teaching QB's this because of how they acquire them. Nothing wrong with your evaluation the first 10 weeks he didn’t look good indeed. Completion percentage was dead last with Bryce, his deep ball was bottom in the league, had awful game ending ints that killed the team vs raiders, broncos and steelers. Plenty more terrible things he was doing until the chargers game.

Week 9 at Pittsburgh was the turning point for me. They lost still and it wasn’t a perfect day for Love. But you saw a comfort level and swagger that was missing early on. He’s a fade away shot artist, and is absolutely what most of the greats do nowadays. Theres too many freak pass rushers to need a perfect pocket to run a modern NFL offense. It’s what separates the elite passers from the rest.

Last thing I need is another awesome Packers QB terrorizing the NFC. 😅
Well, you mentioned Love throwing off his back foot a lot while finding success. He's probably the best I've ever seen with that gesture too. Montana did it surprisingly well with his limited arm, and I remember Garcia doing it in games with a fair share of success. Due to Love's immense physical talent it looks more deadly. This kid scared the heck out me in the divisional round. He's going to get better. Especially once the Packers improve his surrounding cast. NOT IDEAL FOR ME. 😭😭😭

I don’t think the Packers are really threats for a Super Bowl yet but this team has some crazy potential if they can keep growing. The defense will probably be off in the beginning as they transition to a new defense scheme but if MLF and Jordan Love can keep up how they ended the season then they may be able to cover for the defense.

Great video Alex. I havent spoken since the game. They've instatutionalized me. No im just kidding. I havent spoken about the Super Bowl since it happened. That illegal blocker for the Chiefs - Lineman Downfield wasnt called. He was affecting the play as well. He was in the face of the Dbacks. I get the whole 'dont make calls that change the Super Bowl' but it was a clear foul. Had they called it woulda been a 10 second run off and the game ends and Niners win. Watching the film he both passed the eye test and didn't look confident at the time.

As the Falcons are calling it "The Packers model". Jordan Love, by the time he took the field, was FULLY equipped to handle everything, to perform without thoughts, everything being second nature, confidence present but not a concerning forethought of projection, just free flowing action. The Panthers and I would even say Houston are consistently doing it WRONG and have been since those teams were brought into the league. Chicago and Cleveland are the model that NO ONE should be aiming for.

I thought Green Bay might draft a tight end to have 3 solid tight ends to go with the 6 wide receivers. That's assuming that Rodgers can continue to play near his peak level for the next 5 years or so. Because it's definitely worth it if they get a long term franchise Quarterback out of it. It's like saying the Rodgers draft wasn't worth it until they won the super bowl.

@@natewagstaff2516 Not really. The Packers lost the 2020 NFC Championship Game, which was absolutely winnable for them. The next year they lost a close game against the 49ers in the divisional round and would only have had to beat the Rams, whom they had already beaten that year, to make a Super Bowl against the Bengals, whom they also had already beaten that year. Nobody can say for certain that the Packers would have made or won a Super Bowl in either of these years if they had used that first and fourth round pick for other players, but there's a very good chance that they would have.
