The entire 2014 NFL Draft is insane. Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, Zack Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence, the list goes on!
Don’t forget the 🐐. Money Manziel 🤌🏾
Feels like this year is going to have a similar class, atleast WR wise
It’s a shame ppl still wonder if Evans is elite although he’s been putting numbers with Jameis, Fitzception, and Glennon whilst OBJ was throwing tantrums…
Not saying Mike Evan’s is better but a washed Eli manning isn’t much to brag about
@@Studentofthegame3mind you Jameis is or was a gun slinger then, the perfect QB to put numbers up with
@@ljy32swagstill don’t change the fact he’s still top 10 ,he’s way too consistent
@@numbrenine but what top 10 qb did obj play with in his prime?
Fitzpatrick wasnt that bad cmon
The 1996 class had two Hall-of-Famers and a total of ten guys who had long, productive careers.
Marvin Harrison, T.O., Keyshawn Johnson, Muhsin Muhammad, Amani Toomer, Eric Moulds, Joe Horn, Terry Glenn, Eddie Kennison, Bobby Engram. That's 7680 receptions for 105,678 yards and 689 receiving touchdowns, during an era when those things were harder to come by.
Stop saying it was harder 98 n on guys were touching 4 k throwing
It WAS harder. Receivers nowadays are pampered babies compared to the adults that played pre-2008.
And.....undrafted players like Karl Williams.
You must be young. Up until 2010 Wide outs had to fight for their catches. Hard nosed Defense. Now defenders cant touch them or look at them ( Comparatively) without getting a flag@@seantaylor6565
@@seantaylor6565 teams started doing more spread offenses at that point.Plus, defensive backs were allowed to be more physical back then.
2014 class as a whole is top 5 class all time
definitely !
WR Class, Yes
Not top 5 all time but definitely top 15. It just didn't have As ENOUGH star power outside, the line and wr to put it over drafts that had more depth, and more star power. Still up there though no doubt.
Na na na. Pure hyperbole. None of the WRs are HOFers other than Evans and Adams. Not sure there’s any others that’ll be HOF bound at any position. Great WR draft, but doesn’t come close to the Goated 83 draft w/Elway, E Dickerson, Jim Kelly, D Marino, and Darrel Green
@@tjanderson5892 so Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack...........I guess sorry smh
Yessir, W NFL Throwback, 2014, was a great year for WR's. And with the og scoreboards, good times
A "GLAMOURIOUS" year 2014 was, shame it had to end with the most idiotic decision we've all ever seen.
As a Saints fan, I can tell you unequivocally that Mike Evans is an unbelievable talent. I dread playing against him twice a year.
No Odell disrespect bro was elite and one of the most talented receivers ever injuries derailed his career💯
Agreed. Bengals got lucky in Super Bowl LVI, OBJ would've made the victory more than 3pts
Cooks may be the most underrated journeyman receiver ever honestly💀
Fr
I'm biased as a Bucs fan but Adams had one of the best QBs of all time throwing him dimes for nearly a decade, Evans didn't get a decent QB till year 7, so for me Evans gets the edge as best in the class.
Agreed, but I'm biased too
Another interesting gem from this channel
The fact that Evans has over 1000 yards every season is insane💯
Brady's the only elite QB he ever had, and even then, he only had 2 good years with Brady. Brady's 3rd and last year was when he fell off.
I was just thinking about this same topic when it came to this 2024 class stacked against that ‘14 crew
I am a Bucs fan and I think Mike Evans is one of the best receivers in nfl history
2014 was the best class in recent memory, ten years later, 2024 is expected to be the best WR class since
Watkins, Mathews, Benjamin, Brown all ex Buffalo Bills at one point. It honestly seemed like he was going to mention that as he listed them one after another.
The whole 2014 draft class is elite because there were wideouts who are having their best seasons of their careers.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
Kelvin Benjamin was a Popeyes biscuit away from being a tight end
😂😂
That quote was crazy
lol
People stay sleeping on Brandon Cooks, dudes a beast with multiple QBs
Because he gets hurt, or gets traded every other year
@@LiamDeege but still puts up numbers regardless
@@49ersfaithfulforever90 That's true though.
He would’ve been a pro bowler his year on the patriots if he wasn’t on the patriots because they don’t get pro bowlers often but he had a great season that year
@@49ersfaithfulforever90He requested a couple of the Trades by the way
Evans best in this.
Not better than Adam's foh
@finleyjeanbatiste5197 mike evans would put up the same numbers as davante Adam's with arod. They are 1a, and 1b. Both top 15 all time
@@finleyjeanbatiste5197lol mikes better at everything except maybe the fluidity of route running tae provides. But ability to just be clutch whenever you need him has shown over his 10 years of 1k yards. You simply cannot ignore it and state tae is better because he can run routes
@@finleyjeanbatiste5197have them swap teams for their careers and guarantee evans has better stats. Stats dont lie and evans is better. sorry bud
Y’all needa do the 2017 rb draft class next straight dawgs
Martavis Bryant had 14 touchdowns in his first 21 games he was a 6 foot 4 vertical threat with great speed and hands. He was literally the perfect complimentary piece next to a prime Antonio Brown
He was nothing but a waste in the end and now he's on the Dallas Cowboys of all teams.
1:43 cool to see that Bay Area connection with Adams and Bakhtiari; two names you couldn't escape hearing locally 10 to 12ish years ago
I don’t understand why people think Odell isn’t a superstar. Sure he didn’t have the longevity of Adams and Evans but Odell’s 3 year run from 2014-2016 and his 2018 and 2019 season were dominant. His stats and longevity are just seriously impacted by injuries. Go back and watch his highlights from 2014-2016 and you’ll see he may have had the best PEAK of the 2014 class.
Buddy 1050 yards and 6 tds isn’t dominant. You can pick up guys off the street to give you that. Odell is the most overrated player of the last decade.
@@sambarnett6996 have you even bothered to watch his 2014-2016 peak? That is not overrated 😭. If it weren’t for injuries and playing in Cleveland he would’ve been just as good. His ankle injury killed him
Odell is probably the best known WR of the last decade, so he is or was a Superstar. I think Devonte Adams had the better peak, although he did have a better QB.
@@RishiLankalasee that’s the thing tho, Devante was fortunate that played with a top five quarterback of all time, Odell had to play with a semi washed up eli. And was still putting up numbers. Put Odell with Rodgers he’s putting up the same stats had Devonte maybe better
@@cumbusta9175 I mean Davante played this last year with randoms playing qb and he had better numbers than Odell had had in the last what 6 years? Did Odell have 500 yards receiving this year with the league mvp at qb?
Mike Evans! Go Bucs!
The 1988 draft was the original great WR draft:
Tim Brown (HOFer)
Sterling Sharpe (would be HOFer if not for injury)
Michael Irvin (HOFer)
Anthony Miller (5x Pro Bowl)
Brian Blades
Brett Perriman
Quinn Early
Michael Haynes
Crazy how similar the 1988 draft was to 2014
Mike evans(first ballot hof)
Davante adams (first ballot hof)
Obj( would be hof if not for injuries/ him being a diva)
Jarvis Landry(5x pro bowler)
@@jacobgreene4331 Mike Evans and Davante Adams aren't even close to first ballot HOFers
Hell no😂😂
@@jacobgreene4331him being a “diva” had nothing to do with any, just injuries
@@youravictim38 has an impact. Ab is/was a diva. And he will not be in the hof
Brandin cooks probably had the saddest 2016-2019 of all time. From making the superbowl and losing, to getting traded and losing to your previous team in the superbowl
7:37 Justin Jefferson on 4th and 18 against the Bills in the best game of 2022.
Hell no
Evans and Adam’s are first ballot hall of famer. What a pleasure to watch
Not Adam’s he doesn’t have a ring if people barely say Mike is a 1st ballot than Adam’s definitely isnt😂
@@bowclipscarter634come on now Adam’s has been better than Evan’s
@@elbenardo2715 he has a hof qb for 7 years the past year mike was better lmao mike has had bums throwing him the ball except Brady
@@bowclipscarter634 mike evans was average with Brady. 3 all pros vs 0, that’s more important than a ring which is a team stat
Not first ballot. You have to keep in mind some wide receivers that are not in yet. Torry holt, Reggie wayne, chad johnson, Hines ward, and Steve smith sr
If Mike Evan’s had Rodger’s for his first 5-7 years this wouldn’t be a convo but Mike had, Josh Mccown, Mike Glennon, Fitzpatrick, Winston, Josh Freeman, Baker, and Brady and the Bucs also have another receiver that gets 1k yards the last 5 years while Adam’s was the only good receiver on his team 😂
Preach!
Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, and Deandre Hopkins most talented CFB WR trio of all time
Nah that's 2001 Miami (FL): Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Santana Moss
Nope@@RishiLankala Sammy and Nuk were substantially better in college. Check the stats, only 1 thousand yard season combined among Wayne, Johnson, Moss.
No. It was 1985. Two HoF’ers in Andre Reed and the GOAT Jerry Rice. Multiple probowler (when it meant something)Vance Johnson, as well as Al Toon, Eddie Brown and Eric Martin.
Beckham had three great seasons and that’s it. He’s remembered more for one catch than anything else.
Yeah. When you have the greatest catch of all time. That tends to be the highlight of your career
@@jacobgreene4331 🤣 not the greatest catch of all time 🤡
@@jp12696 in terms of physical ability, it is. In terms of pressure/stakes, your right it technically isn't, even if it's a level above every other catch in terms of physical ability.
why are you saying no. the title was the 14’ class was insane. not that they were the best of all time. stfu u dork
What does Beckham only having three great seasons have to do with your original point? Out of all the wrs mentioned in the video you wanted to call out Odell.😬
The disrespect to Evans calling the 2014 wr draft class a coin flip. Evans has more yards (1,000 every year), better yards per catch, played only one team and oh yeah.... 1 SB ring. Brady or no Brady, Adams had Rodgers for 8 years.
You're also forgetting the fact that Davante Adams went straight to a Packers team who already had two Top Flight receivers, Evans went to a team where he became the number one wide receiver immediately those couple of extra seasons makes a big difference which is why it's a coin toss
@@starscourge_blackfyre1471 Wrong. The Bucs had Vincent Jackson, then DeSean Jackson, then Chris Godwin.
Not really, Adams had a better peak, he has more All-Pros and Pro Bowls, despite starting 2 years after Evans.
I get what you doing,, but dont you dare disrespect Adams like that.
Team sport. Buccaneers had the best defense that year
96 draft class is still better due to the top end talent
This is the answer
Davante Adams is the best receiver from this class. It’s not a toss up.
2014s class alone was top 5. 2014 was an amazing year for WRs tho. Haven’t seen anything like it
I love this vid and this channel - any chance y’all do a video on alternative uniforms or one offs?? Thinking the Ravens gold pants or Dolphins blue uniforms, idk if this will be seen but I hope so!
Thanks!!!
I remember when odell made that catch was like a historical moment 😂😭🤞🏽
Horn with the cell phone is legitimately a HOF celly
You gotta do one for the 1996 class. Best WR draft of all time :D
Over 81,000 yards and 600 TDs from this draft class in just wide receivers and tight ends.
Mike Evans is the best. he got more done w less throwing him the ball. imagine if he had aaron rodgers throwing him the ball majority of his career
evans has 1,000 yds every season he’s been in the league.
Exactly but bc he’s not a flashy route technician ppl don’t appreciate his game as much
My money is on Davante Adams being the best receiver of this class because he’s had the highest peak of his draft mates. Mike Evans doesn’t have the same peak but his consistency (at least 65 catches and 1000 yards every season) is unmatched.
Both are excellent receivers!
Odell in my opinion is still the best, obviously the stats don’t say it, but the only reason Mike and Adams are considered the best is because Odell injuries. It wasn’t like Odell had a decline over the years it was purely injuries that stopped him. When you look at just the eyes test and what he was putting up with by far the worst qb out the 3. Don’t see how he isn’t the best. But to each its own🤷🏾♂️
Why it's a Tossup:
TDS: Adams
Rec: Adams
Yds: Evans
All Pros: Adams
Pro Bowls: Adams
Longevity: Evans
Peak: Adams
Route Running: Adams
Eye Test: Adams
Super Bowl: Evans(with TB12, stacked recieving room and top D tbf...)
Stat category Leading: Adams
In case you forgot. I don't want to here " Muh consecutive 1k seasons". Dude falls behind basically everywhere else. They're both legends, They're both Hof bound. Some of the buc fans need to stop...
They both have 95 tds btw 😂and Evan’s didn’t have a first ballot hof throwin to him for 7 years, and Evan’s also has Godwin who has had 6 1k yard seasons unlike mike, Adam’s is the only receiver on his team😂 and Adam’s has way more targets over 100 to be exact and less than yards of course Mike won’t get credit he’s on the worst team in nfl history he’s overlooked
Mike also technically gets more route separation than Adam’s so route running has to go to Mike
And Adam’s was in the playoffs every year damn near not his fault he disappeared in the playoffs unlike Mike who actually shows up 😂and eye test, doesn’t matter use cj stroud as an example Mike is the better receiver
@bowclipscarter634 the fact that you had so little self restraint to post 3 separate rants only proves my point. I'll take mike evans fanboys seriously when they don't act like 5 year olds
Yes, but Adam's had Aaron Rodgers most of his career Evans had bums until Brady got there. I'm pretty sure his stats would be better if he had an elite qb most of his career
2014 was definitely one of the most iconic classes of all time
Best WRs class ever
Look up 1996
Imagine if after all this hype for the 2024 wr class and they turn out to be busts like the 2021 qb class lol.
2021 qb class isn’t a bust… yet
@@mariosnum1fanI mean mac has had a bad situation so he has that excuse but still a disappointment at least
T law hasn’t lived up to the hype nor has fields.
Lance with the trade for sure a disappointment and Zach had a interesting situation as well but also not great!
Mills is one of the better qbs in this draft.
@@spidamitchell8311 well keep in mind it’s still too early to tell. I mean yes definitely doesn’t compare to the previous draft. But you gotta give it time. Trevor was actually playing good before his injury. The regress for Mac was something I didn’t expect. Wilson is easily the worst here. Trey lance can be a starter; just gotta give him some time. And I don’t know what the bears were thinking letting fields go. He WAS NOT the problem
1996 has to be up there as well.
All that talent and the Bills had to be idiots to jump up 5 spots (giving up their 2015 1st to boot) just to get Sammy Watkins. Only saving grace was that Cleveland fumbled on the picks they got back. NO ONE WINS!!!!!!!
My day is made, NFL Throwback uploaded!
I think the class of '96 is the nest, but '14 is up there with two future HOFers
wow!!!!!!!! mike evens is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1000 yards every year can't argue that Evans was the best.
Crazy how many of these guys played for the Bills at some point
As a Steelers fan that Martavis Bryant was a fast son of a gun with his size speed and his hands to get open at the right moment 16:40
He was great until he started having his personal problems. I would consider him a bust.
@@LiamDeege
Disappointment yes
Bust not really since he was only a fourth round pick and he was decent until the weed drama
Could very well be a bunch of wr in this year that are that good as well
Adams was the best WR to come out of this draft. Not even close.
10 years later he still is the best WR in the league
I was literately thinking this 2 days ago
Cooks been good maybe HOF 🤔
nobody’s ever gonna convince me this isn’t the greatest WR class of all time

2014 NFL Draft is one of the best WR classes OAT🥶
2019 is a sleeper, DK, AJ Brown, Hollywood, Hardman, Samuel, Diontae Johnson, Terry Mclaurin, Slayton

Mike Evans is definitely the best

Mike Evans may be the best offensive player in Bucs history.
All the butthurt Bucs fans coming out all the sudden... Theyre both HOFers. Chill out guys...
In 10 more years we might have another one of these videos about the 2024 class. On paper, it's even better than 2014, but we'll see if that holds true.
Man for such a lengendary class my Bills really got screwed with these guys lol
the only reason why this draft class is stacked with WRs is because of the Covid year. and now, it’s been a decade. looks like every decade = stacked class
1996 Has to be the top one
Which one of these WR still with their original team that drafted them?
4 rams
2014 was a vibe
A Rob was ppr fantasy gold.
Ruggs 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Martavis Bryant would've been a great receiver if he could've just stayed off the weed
Sad to see how OBJ’s career turned out. I know he was a diva but he was genuinely on HOF trajectory before injuries took over. I hope Jettas and Chase can have long and healthy careers. Chase play style really reminds me of OBJ
He won a Super Bowl at least he can say that. Also happy he didn't get one with Baltimore as a Pittsburgh fan.
Does the use of gloves help in catching a football?
No it just protects the hands
@@andrewjones4774oh please it most definitely helps catching the football. That doesn’t take away from these guy’s accomplishments but if you’ve ever worn receiver gloves you know it absolutely helps.
Even though I am too young to have seen them play I think 1988 draft is better. You have 3 hall of famers(Tim Brown, Michael Irvin, Cris Carter,) and Sterling Sharpe who would have been had he not gotten injured.
Anthony Miller was damn good too.
The Packers receiving corps would’ve been extremely underrated if OBJ, Davante Adams, and Mike Evans were all drafted together by Green Bay and had Aaron Rodgers as their perfect go-to quarterback to make them the team to beat!

People saying Evans>Adams indefinitely are high on something
Exactly the numbers are close but 3 all pros vs 0 tells you what you need to know
@@LORDSPOOKY Gotta factor that Adams was on a better team and in the national spotlight more often and was force fed targets more then Evans
Evans had to share targets nearly his entire career Desean Jackson, V jackson, Godwin, Brate, OJ Howard, Miller, Humphries, AB, Gronk
Plus playing with Terrible QBs
Pro bowl and All Pros depend alot about player Populairty
Same way how Budda Baker made the Pro Bowl with terrible stats over Winfield JR mostly because Baker has a bigger name in the leauge at the moment

@@JDBass36 wasn’t force fed targets he was an intermediate route runner in Green Bay so it was just ton of opportunity. And your unserious if your talking about Cameron Brate OJ Howard and Scotty muller. If evans was that good he would separate himself from them.
@@LORDSPOOKY The idea is Evans always had to share his targets with other weapons thus why he may not have a ton of 1500 yard seasons ( bad QB play and bad Accuracy played a part)
Either way Evans has more TDS then any WR in the league since 2014 only Adams is close.
But Evans and Adams are 2 different type of WRs, how many 6'5 WRs are dominating the league right now?
Adam's and Evans have different playstyles but are basically neck and neck in stats
Both WRs are going to the HOF either way
@@JDBass36 both had to share with weapons and both had bouts of bad qb play. There is a reason evans is not on the level of guys like Jefferson tyreek and Adams. Check the numbers evans only regarded as a good player because of longevity he has never been a top wr more than once
