Hey Folks. Just a quick comment. Aaron, it is so good to see your enthusiasm and cheerful demeaner return. From someone who decided to get heathy back in the 1980's, I can attest to how difficult, yet rewarding it can be. Keep up the good work. And Ms. Emily, you are an Angel for for hanging in there. The Corvette in going to be awesome.
I've been doing bodywork for 35 years, and I can honestly say that for a self-taught you have done a really nice job. Fiberglass is definitely a job that takes time and patience.
@@flyingsparksgaragedo not wrap it ! It needs to off gas for minimal 90 days prior to wrapping it otherwise when you pull wrap off it will pull all your hard work with it. Wrapping will trap in solvents and it causes delaminating issues. Just paint it from start . Also wraps exposed to daily sun bake only last 2-3 years and if don’t remove by then it becomes impossible to remove . (I made this comment prior to watching , I assumed y’all where doing lots of priming and touch up) . Just paint it!
That is an awesome color. Loved the deck screws to attach the nose piece. Amazing what some people will do to get something out the door. Love all the videos. Keep it coming. Andy
I watched you guys rebuild the transmission on this car. After seeing that, I'm not surprised by anything else you do it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you say before each new task, "Look, since we rebuilt the transmission..."
This is going to be a fun series to watch. I love your color choice. From my experience with this type of work, the most important ingredient is patience. As you said, sand, and sand some more and repeat. A good mask is another important thing to have. That is one serious air compressor. I am looking forward to the finished product. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Turkey Day. So nice to see yall cleaning up all the horrible lines in those panels. Aaron with his passion and ocd is the guy for all this bodywork. You are a saint to do all the block work. As usual great teamwork. Painted or wrapped its all about the prep work. Nice Job!! So happy to see that yall got a decent compressor. It's time for the channel to start paying yall back for all the blood sweat and tears making the videos. Congratulations and remember to keep taking time out to be with one another every once in a while. Maybe a fall camper trip to the lake with an overnight and a fire? Have fun and thank you both for continuing to share your lives with us.
I love the fact that you guys try to do what you have not done before. As to the radio installation, I have worked around sound for a while. You should check the speaker wires. It is hard to get me to use less than 12 gauge wire for speakers because of the voltage drop across smaller diameter wires and the loss of damping factor due to the voltage drop. Damping Factor is the ability of the amplifier to control the mechanical motion of the speaker. A perfect number of 1000 is not achievable, but a good modern amplifier should get close if you use the right wiring.
@@jameswhiteii4679 a quick tap of the speaker wires while observing the cone travel will do the trick. Not all speakers are correctly wired, or maybe the magnet can be installed wrong side up.
Wow 😳 I can't believe how bad the body work was😮. That guy must of been a carpenter, I'm just guessing. You guys are doing a great 👍 job. Can't wait to see it finished ☺️. Thanks for sharing.
I am really looking forward to the transformation of your budget C5. This is going to be a fun series. Congrats on the new air compressor. Air sanders and such are are hungry. The bigger the compressor the better.
Awesome job on this episode, it takes so much patience with what you guys are doing. With my boat racing I’ve worked with fiberglass a lot, but Aaron you’ve taught me a few things. Thank you. I am anxious to see the final product I know it’s gonna look fantastic. Love you guys.
Enjoy watching you two and the stuff you two get into. Being a California guy I was excited to hear about the Power your while watching the MG episode. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Emily, your work in the back hatch area was amazing. Awesome clean up work girl! The only way that there is a build up of dirt like that is if it was left there before the paint was applied, or got there in the painting process. Either way, one more example of the caliber of prior work on the poor car.
I and others have watched hour or longer videos, and have told them that we usually watch their videos in 20 to 30 minute sessions as an hour is often too long unless it is in a theatre or an exciting movie at home. A couple are now breaking them into part one and part two and posting twice a week instead of once and have gained views and a few subscribers.
The trouble with any imperfections is that once you paint the vehicle, they will show up like a sore thumb. This includes wavy body panels. If you don’t want to see it, you must find it, and get it smoothed out.
There's a Camaro that runs around in my town in that same color and oh my gosh you guys are going to love that color. Your shop lions look so fierce and they will be great for saving you from the "meces". LOL aka mice. Thanks for putting out a Thanksgiving Day video this is much better than the Macy's day parade. Keep up the great work you guys do.
I think the previous owner stole some screws from the drywallers that did the bodywork😂😂😂. Being a guy that grew up in the 70's, I think the green was an excellent choice!👌
Loved the "three stooges routine" with the air compressor. Good Laugh.!!! Aaron , I went through a complete ground up resto on my 62' Vette. Polo white paint (8 coats of lacquer) black interior. It was my baby for 14 years. Hated the itches from sanding and repairing fiber glass. I like your videos .....

You two are doing great work. I'm sure that you are done with the car and have probably gotten on with the Power Tour West. Here's a tip bit about finishing scratches, runs, and other defects in the paint. Surprisingly it's not much at all about how smooth it looks, it is way more important for it to feel smooth, smooth to the palm of your hand if at all possible. If you can feel the defect it will telegraph through the wrap or paint. Like with the drip though that you showed that Emily worked on, blocking the area very smooth yet you could still see the drip line. This situation is the same when a metal part is cut on a Laser machine it uses what is called a Lead In and has a Lead Out. These are the Start and Stop points of the cut to make the part. Most operators would work hard at removing those two tiny lines, most times causing a dip in the edge of the part. I worked with the Supervisors and Leads to show them how the Lead In & Lead Out lines could be left and have a good part that has much less time in cleaning the part thereby raising their efficiency. A Supervisor challenged me saying that the lines caused a bad part because it wasn't fully cleaned. We took that same part and ran it through both a Lase Scanner and an HD Optical Scanner. The lines though still visible were barely detectable to the scanners, and according to the tolerances for the part were well within specifications. So, feel those area that still appear to have defects. If you can still feel them they do need more work. If it is only a visual appearance that is going to be getting covered then leave it alone. I really like that you were using the "sample" wrap to test if an area was good. That's awesome common sense working in its finest right there. Great idea.
Looks like a lot of tedious work but I know it has to be done to make it look good. Love the color. There was a green color that they used on vettes around 2015 called Lime Rock green that the wrap looks a lot like. I used that color on my 40 Ford pickup and absolutely love it.
