When I was younger, watching NGE and EoE meant a lot to me. With EoE ended with more questions than answers, I had always wanted to find out more about the lore and symbolism presented. Now that I am 35+, realizing Evangelion is as much as a representation of what stage Hideaki Anno is now, I am happy that 3.0+1.0 ended the way it did. I don’t care if Rebuild “isn’t as good” critically as before, I want Anno-san to be happy with his work and move on to more magnificent projects.

I would KILL for an adaptation of Anima as a full blown series. There is so much potential there and it would be interesting to see such distinctive versions of these characters.
Shin Go-Ranger would be pretty cool. Honestly yes, I do want more Evangelion but I feel like we gotta accept what we got right now and enjoy everything we’ve got. But hey that’s just my opinion.
This is probably a common wish among the fans, but I'd love to see an OVA series showing explicitly what happened between Near 3rd Impact and the opening of 3.0. What exactly was the proper Third Impact? Why did someone need to be sacrificed to stop it? What did Kaji even do? What did the rebellion against NERV look like? Ideally, I'd love to see it scored by Hiroyuki Sawano and animated by Trigger, with the action aspects of the series turned up to 11. Like an entire series with the energy of the Operation Yamato/Ground Zero invasion scene in 3.0+1.0
I don't really care anymore, in a good way. 3.0 + 1.0 has me entirely satisfied with the franchise, and I'm kinda "done" with it now in a way. I'm still going to rewatch all the older stuff from time to time, but I don't need anything more from Evangelion now.
I'm "done" too, but only for the moment. I will be "undone" after enough time has passed. But I think then the scepter should be handed to new, fresher people (with wide-eyed cynicism/depression to emulate the original Eva production).
Hideki Anno stated that he would come back to Evangelion, although the story is officially over, Evangelion fans will never know what happened those 14 years we never got an explanation in 3.33. I think it’s also interesting how at the End of 3.33 fans got see a Evangelion that was half unit 2 & half Evangelion unit 8. But when watching the movie 3.0 + 1.0 we never got to see it or why Anno teased us with that in the first place. I’m very happy Anno is done with this chapter of his life, after everything he definitely deserves to be happy & I hope to see more Live action films Anno makes in the future, this is a big chapter closing for anime because at this time people are asking themselves “where do we go from here in the world of anime?” I really hope Anno collabs with others instead of turning it down.
Well he has said that he wants to work with people all over the world, so perhaps we will see international collaborations like FromSoftware had with George R. R. Martin.
Im planning to rewatch Rebuilt Eva series that have the director's cut and some new scene. Starting at 1.11, then 2.22, and then 3.33. Thank you @EvaGunpla , you convinced me more to start watching the Rebuilt series.

Evangelion were old franchise, but it can connect all generation, the past generations and the future generations. What makes Eva be one of the best anime of all time, was the messages Evangelion has is ahead of its time. Way ahead. Escapism, Self-love, and all the society works. Literally. Not to mention each characters in the franchise has its own unique charms that we can relate. Their Problem. Their Perspective. How they face it and solve it. Its sooooooo amazingly amazing. Eva fandom were the best fandom for me. So many people were Awaken because Eva. What I mean is their inner strength that most people dont realized. Last but not least, maybe, just maybe, in the near future, theres a high-tech tool that can make All human unified. Again, Evangelion was ahead of its time. Way. Ahead. And im both happy and grateful to witness All of this.
I think Evangelion Proposal as a full show would be awesome. I think it’s distinct enough to have it’s own identity, and the things that were hard to animate back then are possible now. The technology is there.
I recently watched Studio Khara's The Dragon Dentist (the 90-minute TV special, to be precise) and liked it a lot. I hope Khara will become a place that births new interesting stories that can't be done elsewhere, occassionally making a new Eva series to fund those more niche projects. The biggest obstacle to creative freedom is the lack of money, and Khara certainly does not lack it. Another possibility to consider is that the anime industry could collapse entirely sometime during the next decade. A lot of industry insiders and commentators have been hinting at it and even Anno said in 2015 that he thinks it might happen. In that case, Khara could become an ark that survives the collapse due to its massively profitable IP, and make a new Eva series to start the industry anew. It would be in line with Anno's prior statements, and doable precisely because Evangelion is so big.
I wouldn't mind seeing some OVAs for the Rebuild series. Aside from the obvious choice of exploring the 14 year time skip, maybe one exploring Mari's backstory and fleshing her out into more of a character would be good too.
played the game iron maiden- a non cannon story about a similar coloured hair girl who pilots a rival mech designed for a future war. funny notes include rei in unit zero fishing in a lake with tackle box and a rock paper sissors battle in sim-avas that nearly destroys the lab.
I do personally view Evangelion as like an old tale of myth that can be reinterpreted and retold in many different ways. So I am open to Anno letting other artists taking a stab at their own reinterpretation of the story.
I’m excited for his future work. He is an experienced filmmaker, and this should be able to tell a more coherent story than we got in 3010. Hopefully his future works will only have a few delays lol
@@windows9550 Where to begin.. its a mishmash of different movies all dumped together. With no resolution from act to act towards a finale. He just ends scene and opens in a new act, nothing experienced in one act broadens our understanding in the next. In the documentary (about the making of this film) Anno re--writes part A and D independent of the film as a whole, and it shows. New characters introduced in the 4th film with no development, and no further development of existing characters. Continuity and Shoddy CGI animation abound, some on purpose, some not. (one example: Mari's glasses change style from scene to scene) Japanese viewers were given "supplemental" manga and stills to help this film make sense, we were not. Nor should we need them. Anno is an seasoned filmmaker, he has had plenty of time to produce this film. Even after this film was released, he edited it. I could go on some more LOL

@@jimmyzbike Well, it didn't bother me (except for Mari's character that still feels meh to me), because for me this was a closure for the original Eva. I don't know how to explain it better, but during the whole movie I felt it more connected with the original series than the rest of the rebuild movies.
The revelations that Asuka was cloned like Rei. along with, the possibility that Mari, Kauri and even Shinji might have been as well are worth shedding some light on. Especially if you think about how they stopped aging, at least up until the very end of the latest film. Then there's the bit where all this has happened before, as we've seen at least three times now. Maybe some other creative team could writr divergent time lines from different personalities.
Tbh I found the Shinji not remembering his past sus too. Like it is literally stated that he don’t remember a portion of his past that is really really suspicious to me. Also the fact that he can reawaken unit 1 and transform it would make a ton of sense if he was a clone (also he still keep the door of guf opened somehow in unit 13 after Kaworu died if they need Kaworu: one of the Adams to archive that why can Shinji still it sustained until Marry get him out ?). Oh yeah he, Asuka, Rei was just chilling in the waste land too- all of the people going outside where some suits or stay in the Wunder/ other type of facilities. Heck Misato’s crew was literally panicking motoring the Hex pillar at the start of 3.0+1.0. I thinks it is good enough evidence to suspect something abnormal with Shinji tbh. Edit: Oh yeah Asuka call human Lilin while literally stated Shinji and Rei as “us” it is a weaker evidence but I will still also add that And yeah got Marry her surname (I can’t remember) shh are s tricking resemblance to that of Rei and Asuka too. For Kaworu he was chilling in space and was literally fine going outside in the post third impact world so yeah maybe he is too because no way Adam just happens to be like that XD
For me, I’m more interested in seeing stuff like spin offs and games and AUs and such. I envision a world where Evangelion becomes a unique setting and concept of its own. What if we had it like gundam where it focused on different characters in a similar but thoroughly unique universe? Imagine all the possibilities

The fact that Anno is directing a Kamen Rider film is awesome, I'll probably watch that. I used to watch Kamen Rider Kuuga on TV so I'm really looking forward to it.

My initial reaction to "fleshing out" Evangelion's lore/timegap is, ohhhhhh hell no. Do I wonder about that stuff a lot? Yes. Would we be better off if we knew it? Probably not. For me Evangelion is a lot like the orginal Star Wars movies: they hinted at a fascinating world much larger than the movies themselves. That was very very cool. But, for the most part, learning about that universe just spoils the fun and mystery. The "First Ancestral Race" lore hinted at in Eva's planning docs is a pretty standard sci-fi trope. The lore itself is not interesting: it is the protagonists' reaction to their predicament that is fascinating. And once reason it works in Eva is because we share their incomprehension.
I completely agree with you. The film, Prometheus, is a another perfect example of giving viewers answers to questions that were better (and far more interesting) left unsaid.
@@jikorijo4516 The thing I will say about the Alien franchise is that it’s fundamentally horror, and horror is most often best left with gaps of knowledge: the unknown. Evangelion isn’t a horror franchise, even though it has disturbing moments.
@@theatheistbear3117 Yeah. I tend to agree with that. Another example would be if someone were to explain who Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name character, from Sergio's Leone's Dollars Trilogy, was. The reason why that character works is because he's mysterious, stoic, and so undefined.

We could go one further and detail the events from 2.22 right up to 3.33 -- that's fourteen years worth of events! Word of god is that a scenario for that time is out there.
I still can't believe Evangelion is over. Honestly, Anno deserves a long break and Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 was fantastic and provided, for the first time in the franchise's history, an ending that most seem to find conclusive and satisfying. Despite that though, even 26 years in there's tons of untapped potential and no new content would be the same without Anno's leadership. I do hope he returns someday. The Evangelion franchise WILL continue though, that's for sure. It's, rightfully so, an absolute gold mine, and honestly, with how big of a role the classic characters play in Evangelion's legacy, most probably we will come across them again in the future, albeit not as part of a continuation of the main storyline... Perhaps as a prequel to the already existing universes, or as a completely different alternate, but sequential universe (the last of which chronologically are the Rebuilds).

I definitely feel like there can be more storytelling with Evangelion but that’s just me. I mean I don’t want it to be an ongoing series like Dragon Ball or Star Wars which are still going on today. I definitely feel like the whole franchise should end at some point but there’s still so much to tell like Mari’s backstory and why she joined Nerv in the first place. And of course a story talking about what happened between 2.0 and 3.0. The one thing I’m interested in seeing is another video game. Not an app game but a game for Xbox or pc. Just imagine an RPG game where you play as Shinji where you as the player make decisions and choose which direction of the story you want to take. You can customize your Eva. Fight Angel’s or other players and their Evas. You get to choose who shinji dates. It can be like a Telltale game where your decisions have consequences which could lead to a bad ending or a good ending. The game can be used to take the story into completely different direction as well. I don’t know if anybody else would be interested in playing a new game but I definitely would like to see it.
Honestly I’d be ok with anything as long as shinji is there. He’s my favorite anime character of all time and he means a lot to me so if he’s not in it I’m not interested. I even managed to get my hands on one of the official replica cels of him. Can we finally get some more good figures for shinji? That’s all i want actually. To this day it pisses me off to no end that shinji mostly gets excluded from the higher end figure lines. I would kill for a figma or revoltech articulated figure of him. (I have both of the RAH ones but they’re really fragile). Like how can you not give us quality merch for your literal main character. Neon Genesis Evangelion nearly drove me to suicide. Seeing Shinji suffering is like seeing myself suffer, because at one point in time I was almost exactly like him, especially back in 10th grade when I was bullied to the brink of suicide. I simply cannot tolerate watching Eva. I felt forced to relive my trauma upon viewing it. I’m deathly afraid of it. Twice I had a nightmare where I saw myself as Shinji choking Asuka and starting the Third Impact. I’ve been struggling with this newfound depression ever since. Evangelion is nothing but a bright shining lie. There is no instant cure for depression as so many on UA-cam and Reddit claimed and praised this series to be. I was obsessed with the series for over a year to try and outwit the Coronavirus pandemic. It only increased the burden, and kept the memory of my friend’s recent suicide alive. Sometimes I hate myself because I fail to appreciate this series which people treat larger than life, because of how much pain it resurfaces. Watching the End of Evangelion was like peering into a broken mirror, and I was viewing the hell I would’ve put myself through had things turned out differently, had I decided to give up living. It still haunts me to this day. Sometimes I hate myself because I fail to appreciate what so many have claimed to idolize, and I beat myself further for failing to worship what they call praiseworthy, I forced myself to watch a show that reminded me of nothing but pain just so I wouldn’t be alone anymore, I was willing to sacrifice my individuality for some company amidst the isolation of the pandemic. But it only spiraled me deeper into depression, which I’ve been struggling with for over a year now. I just want Shinji to be happy, so this past self of mine can be laid to rest once more. I’m afraid to decouple myself from him after losing my friend to suicide, which Eva made me feel responsible for, especially when I saw Shinji kill Kaworu, of which I fail to understand how anyone can call it praiseworthy. Until then, I feel nothing else matters. There’s a reason why I keep coming back to Evangelion; something that reminds me of nothing but pain. I want to prove to myself I’m not crazy for feeling this way, that Evangelion really did force me to relive my trauma, that my depression is not just a figment of my imagination or another anime plot point But the fact I’m the only one I know in existence who’s been traumatized by an anime makes me feel like I really am crazy. But finally, with 3.0+1.0 released, I can rest easy knowing that Shinji has finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Evangelion is finished, and I want it to remain that way. But if things hadn’t turned out that way, I wouldn’t be here today. I’m still recovering…
A live action Evangelion story could be so good or so bad. I kind of want to see an Evangelion story with a different set of characters either in a different place (NERV US pre-S2 explosion/NERV EU) or an entirely different universe but still based on the concept of Angels and Evas.
I think that could be great if it's conceived specifically as a Tokusatsu film, even if it doesn't necessarily use models, props etc. Although I struggle to think of someone more qualified to make such a movie than Anno based on what he did with Shin Godzilla if nothing else, which would defeat the objective of passing the torch on to anyone else.
I think from now on, every Evangelion's upcoming projects will be directed by someone else, but not Anno. His visions for the franchise somehow has been completed. And he still wants to make other projects to satisfy him too, like what he did with Shin Godzilla. What I'm afraid the most would be something like Netflix's adaptation or live-action, which often have poorly performance so far on some anime /manga series

Currently, your only LEGAL way of watching them is to track down the 5-disc limited edition release of The Dragon Dentist that was released in Japan in 2017. Otherwise, you'll have to search for them. They aren't very hard to find.

honestly, now that evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 is out and the rebuild movies are now done, i’d honestly like to see a whole anime focused on the slice-of-life segment from episode 26 of nge.
I love the theme of loss and recovery of the last movie. I needed that closure after going through so many changes since 1995. I’m also a much happier person and it coincidence the movie also ends on that note .❤️
Hideaki Anno should do Shin Nausicaä, he wanted to do a sequel to the 1984 anime film from Hayao Miyazaki and he did approve but Anno recently asked permission from Miyazaki for a live action Nausicaä and Miya-san refused to have it in live action. A live action Shin Nausicaä that combines US and Japanese talent under Anno’s vision would be amazing. Also, Shin Super Sentai: Power Rangers would be great as well, especially if it combines the American and Japanese lore and canon well. As well as both American and Japanese Rangers.
I am finished with Eva, and satisfied. I have been a fan since 1997, when I was renting the VHS tapes. It has been an emotionally exhausting thing to love, though love it I do.
It really would. I have fond memories of MST3K's treatments of the various Gamera films, and watching Anno take a dramatic stab at it the way he did with Shin Godzilla would be a delight.
@@EvaMonkeydid you see the 90's Gamera Trilogy? Higuchi was working on them at the time time Anno was producing Evangelion, and they both visited each other's studios as support. The final film in the trilogy is damn close to a "Shin" treatment, but the entire trilogy is fantastic. Arrow Video recently released all of it in an amazing bluray set. Highly recommended!
While these may not be very popular, I'd watch an anime adaptation of Angelic Days, Campus Apocalypse, or The Shinji Ikari Raising Project without hesitation. And it goes without saying that it would be cool if NGE got the Sailor Moon Crystal treatment with a direct adaptation of the manga.
I do like to see this tech-fest continued in other stories. This liquid & concrete installations, and this machine plus Biological / Gen Tech. Also this sense of scale from the first 2 movies. With the Moon visit, or the base with its elevators and railroads.

Honestly they need to make a game utilizing new graphics and console power. They already have a habit of making the games diverge from the original anime, so maybe they could do a variation of the Rebuild series as 3 games, with 1&2 being together 3 being it's own, and 3.0+1.0 being the final one in the series. Would love to see something animated in the style of Persona 5 or DBZ Fighterz. Game animation styled heavily on the anime source. In terms of other media, I think Eva ended on a good note. I hope they don't drag it down by running it on too long. They could easily make a spiritual successor that draws from the themes of EVA but in another world with different characters to create different perspective.
i'd be interested in seeing studio khara pursue more eva things eventually. whether that's fanworks getting an animated reinterpretation, small vignettes shining light on briefly mentioned or easily overlooked pieces of world building. I'd be interested in anything they'd announce. beyond eva i'll likely take a look at what khara releases in the future. a part of me would be interested in seeing how they handle making a EVA game. would it be a FPS type game?, a medieval sword/melee focused fighting game? would it do a sort of Half-Life opposing force type deal where you go through iconic EVa locations seeing either the aftermath of the series protagonists or catching glimpses of them. the JSDF attack on nerv in EOE provides a golden opportunity for such a game.
I like the idea of supplemental work, perhaps an anthology like the Animatrix or Halo Legends, the universe of Neon Genesis Evangelion seems well set up for that format
I personally think a spinoff with toji and kensuke chilling (pre shinji punch) would be cool, imagine the story of toji tryna get along w hikari, and kensuke camping adventures

I think nows the best time to bring back those weird 90s eroge mahjong games. Jokes aside I'd love to see a mini series or shorts based around the 14 years time skip or something exploring Mari's background story a little more in detail. I also think it's not unlikely that we'll see something like that in the future but probably without Anno's involvement, which is fine. I believe Eva at this point has become such a great franchise that I actually wanna see other people's vision of this universe. Anno told his story. Let the man retire (from evangelion at least).
1:58 Even if it was a bad financial choice i really believe that gurren lagann shouldn't be underestimated. I don't think the first or even the 2nd eva rebuild movies hold a candle to it, even if evangelion as a whole has made a bigger cultural impact. That aside i am looking forward to what χαρα has in mind for the future.
Love the thumbnail I would personally like to see a Fate/Zero styled prequel of Neon Genesis Evangelion leading up to the events of the show. Maybe, starting it prior to the second impact to sometime before the events of the first episode. But it still needs to be confusing, that’s what makes Eva so fun to watch.

This is probably a common wish among the fans, but I'd love to see an OVA series showing explicitly what happened between Near 3rd Impact and the opening of 3.0. What exactly was the proper Third Impact? Why did someone need to be sacrificed to stop it? What did Kaji even do? What did the rebellion against NERV look like?
Ideally, I'd love to see it scored by Hiroyuki Sawano and animated by Trigger, with the action aspects of the series turned up to 11. Like an entire series with the energy of the Operation Yamato/Ground Zero invasion scene in 3.0+1.0
I believe it was an intentional blue balls considering all that stuff in the 2.0 outro did happen but off screen
I don't really care anymore, in a good way. 3.0 + 1.0 has me entirely satisfied with the franchise, and I'm kinda "done" with it now in a way. I'm still going to rewatch all the older stuff from time to time, but I don't need anything more from Evangelion now.

Hideki Anno stated that he would come back to Evangelion, although the story is officially over, Evangelion fans will never know what happened those 14 years we never got an explanation in 3.33.
I think it’s also interesting how at the End of 3.33 fans got see a Evangelion that was half unit 2 & half Evangelion unit 8. But when watching the movie 3.0 + 1.0 we never got to see it or why Anno teased us with that in the first place.
I’m very happy Anno is done with this chapter of his life, after everything he definitely deserves to be happy & I hope to see more Live action films Anno makes in the future, this is a big chapter closing for anime because at this time people are asking themselves

I think Evangelion Proposal as a full show would be awesome. I think it’s distinct enough to have it’s own identity, and the things that were hard to animate back then are possible now. The technology is there.
I recently watched Studio Khara's The Dragon Dentist (the 90-minute TV special, to be precise) and liked it a lot. I hope Khara will become a place that births new interesting stories that can't be done elsewhere, occassionally making a new Eva series to fund those more niche projects. The biggest obstacle to creative freedom is the lack of money, and Khara certainly does not lack it.
Another possibility to consider is that the anime industry could collapse entirely sometime during the next decade. A lot of industry insiders and commentators have been hinting at it and even Anno said in 2015 that he thinks it might happen. In that case, Khara could become an ark that survives the collapse due to its massively profitable IP, and make a new Eva series to start the industry anew. It would be in line with Anno's prior statements, and doable precisely because Evangelion is so big.

I wouldn't mind seeing some OVAs for the Rebuild series. Aside from the obvious choice of exploring the 14 year time skip, maybe one exploring Mari's backstory and fleshing her out into more of a character would be good too.
Mari could have been more (I.e. her personality being more of facade to avoid dealing with the terrible world around her)
played the game iron maiden- a non cannon story about a similar coloured hair girl who pilots a rival mech designed for a future war. funny notes include rei in unit zero fishing in a lake with tackle box and a rock paper sissors battle in sim-avas that nearly destroys the lab.
I hate time skips in general. That's 1 of main things about Rebuild that turned me off after 2.22. >_

@@windows9550 Where to begin.. its a mishmash of different movies all dumped together. With no resolution from act to act towards a finale. He just ends scene and opens in a new act, nothing experienced in one act broadens our understanding in the next. In the documentary (about the making of this film) Anno re--writes part A and D independent of the film as a whole, and it shows. New characters introduced in the 4th film with no development, and no further development of existing characters. Continuity and Shoddy CGI animation abound, some on purpose, some not. (one example: Mari's glasses change style from scene to scene) Japanese viewers were given "supplemental" manga and stills to help this film make sense, we were not. Nor should we need them. Anno is an seasoned filmmaker, he has had plenty of time to produce this film. Even after this film was released, he edited it. I could go on some more LOL

I don't know how to explain it better, but during the whole movie I felt it more connected with the original series than the rest of the rebuild movies.

The revelations that Asuka was cloned like Rei. along with, the possibility that Mari, Kauri and even Shinji might have been as well are worth shedding some light on. Especially if you think about how they stopped aging, at least up until the very end of the latest film. Then there's the bit where all this has happened before, as we've seen at least three times now. Maybe some other creative team could writr divergent time lines from different personalities.
Tbh I found the Shinji not remembering his past sus too. Like it is literally stated that he don’t remember a portion of his past that is really really suspicious to me. Also the fact that he can reawaken unit 1 and transform it would make a ton of sense if he was a clone (also he still keep the door of guf opened somehow in unit 13 after Kaworu died if they need Kaworu: one of the Adams to archive that why can Shinji still it sustained until Marry get him out ?). Oh yeah he, Asuka, Rei was just chilling in the waste land too- all of the people going outside where some suits or stay in the Wunder/ other type of facilities. Heck Misato’s crew was literally panicking motoring the Hex pillar at the start of 3.0+1.0. I thinks it is good enough evidence to suspect something abnormal with Shinji tbh.

For me, I’m more interested in seeing stuff like spin offs and games and AUs and such. I envision a world where Evangelion becomes a unique setting and concept of its own. My initial reaction to "fleshing out" Evangelion's lore/timegap is, ohhhhhh hell no.
Do I wonder about that stuff a lot? Yes.
Would we be better off if we knew it? Probably not. For me Evangelion is a lot like the orginal Star Wars movies: they hinted at a fascinating world much larger than the movies themselves. That was very very cool.
But, for the most part, learning about that universe just spoils the fun and mystery. The "First Ancestral Race" lore hinted at in Eva's planning docs is a pretty standard sci-fi trope. The lore itself is not interesting: it is the protagonists' reaction to their predicament that is fascinating. And once reason it works in Eva is because we share their incomprehension.

I still can't believe Evangelion is over.
Honestly, Anno deserves a long break and Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 was fantastic and provided, for the first time in the franchise's history, an ending that most seem to find conclusive and satisfying.
Despite that though, even 26 years in there's tons of untapped potential and no new content would be the same without Anno's leadership.
I do hope he returns someday. The Evangelion franchise WILL continue though, that's for sure. It's, rightfully so, an absolute gold mine, and honestly, with how big of a role the classic characters play in Evangelion's legacy, most probably we will come across them again in the future, albeit not as part of a continuation of the main storyline... Perhaps as a prequel to the already existing universes, or as a completely different alternate, but sequential universe (the last of which chronologically are the Rebuilds).

Personally I would love to see an anime adaptation of Evangelion anima. The art and ideas in that light novel are so cool it would make a great anime.

I definitely feel like there can be more storytelling with Evangelion but that’s just me. I mean I don’t want it to be an ongoing series like Dragon Ball or Star Wars which are still going on today. I definitely feel like the whole franchise should end at some point but there’s still so much to tell like Mari’s backstory and why she joined Nerv in the first place. And of course a story talking about what happened between 2.0 and 3.0.
The one thing I’m interested in seeing is another video game. Not an app game but a game for Xbox or pc. Just imagine an RPG game where you play as Shinji where you as the player make decisions and choose which direction of the story you want to take. You can customize your Eva. Fight Angel’s or other players and their Evas. You get to choose who shinji dates. It can be like a Telltale game where your decisions have consequences which could lead to a bad ending or a good ending. The game can be used to take the story into completely different direction as well.
I don’t know if anybody else would be interested in playing a new game but I definitely would like to see it.

Honestly I’d be ok with anything as long as shinji is there. He’s my favorite anime character of all time and he means a lot to me so if he’s not in it I’m not interested. I even managed to get my hands on one of the official replica cels of him. Can we finally get some more good figures for shinji? That’s all i want actually. To this day it pisses me off to no end that shinji mostly gets excluded from the higher end figure lines. I would kill for a figma or revoltech articulated figure of him. (I have both of the RAH ones but they’re really fragile). Like how can you not give us quality merch for your literal main character. I don’t get it. he’s just as cute and marketable as the others idk why toy companies don’t seem to think so :( my poor little man hasn’t gotten a new statue/scale figure in ages too. Neon Genesis Evangelion nearly drove me to suicide.
Seeing Shinji suffering is like seeing myself suffer, because at one point in time I was almost exactly like him, especially back in 10th grade when I was bullied to the brink of suicide. I simply cannot tolerate watching Eva. I felt forced to relive my trauma upon viewing it. I’m deathly afraid of it. Twice I had a nightmare where I saw myself as Shinji choking Asuka and starting the Third Impact. I’ve been struggling with this newfound depression ever since.
Evangelion is nothing but a bright shining lie. There is no instant cure for depression as so many on UA-cam and Reddit claimed and praised this series to be. I was obsessed with the series for over a year to try and outwit the Coronavirus pandemic. It only increased the burden, and kept the memory of my friend’s recent suicide alive. Sometimes I hate myself because I fail to appreciate this series which people treat larger than life, because of how much pain it resurfaces.
Watching the End of Evangelion was like peering into a broken mirror, and I was viewing the hell I would’ve put myself through had things turned out differently, had I decided to give up living. It still haunts me to this day.
Sometimes I hate myself because I fail to appreciate what so many have claimed to idolize, and I beat myself further for failing to worship what they call praiseworthy, I forced myself to watch a show that reminded me of nothing but pain just so I wouldn’t be alone anymore, I was willing to sacrifice my individuality for some company amidst the isolation of the pandemic.
But it only spiraled me deeper into depression, which I’ve been struggling with for over a year now.
I just want Shinji to be happy, so this past self of mine can be laid to rest once more. I’m afraid to decouple myself from him after losing my friend to suicide, which Eva made me feel responsible for, especially when I saw Shinji kill Kaworu, of which I fail to understand how anyone can call it praiseworthy. Until then, I feel nothing else matters.
There’s a reason why I keep coming back to Evangelion; something that reminds me of nothing but pain.
I want to prove to myself I’m not crazy for feeling this way, that Evangelion really did force me to relive my trauma, that my depression is not just a figment of my imagination or another anime plot point
But the fact I’m the only one I know in existence who’s been traumatized by an anime makes me feel like I really am crazy.
But finally, with 3.0+1.0 released, I can rest easy knowing that Shinji has finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Evangelion is finished, and I want it to remain that way.
But if things hadn’t turned out that way, I wouldn’t be here today.
I’m still recovering…

I would love to see some of the Evangelion spin-off manga's in the form of animation. Like Shinji Ikari Raising Project and things like that
A live action Evangelion story could be so good or so bad. I kind of want to see an Evangelion story with a different set of characters either in a different place (NERV US pre-S2 explosion/NERV EU) or an entirely different universe but still based on the concept of Angels and Evas.
I think that could be great if it's conceived specifically as a Tokusatsu film, even if it doesn't necessarily use models, props etc.
Although I struggle to think of someone more qualified to make such a movie than Anno based on what he did with Shin Godzilla if nothing else, which would defeat the objective of passing the torch on to anyone else.
I think from now on, every Evangelion's upcoming projects will be directed by someone else, but not Anno. His visions for the franchise somehow has been completed. And he still wants to make other projects to satisfy him too, like what he did with Shin Godzilla.
What I'm afraid the most would be something like Netflix's adaptation or live-action, which often have poorly performance so far on some anime /manga series

They were part of the Japan Animator Expo for a limited time. Currently, your only LEGAL way of watching them is to track down the 5-disc limited edition release of The Dragon Dentist that was released in Japan in 2017. Otherwise, you'll have to search for them. They aren't very hard to find.

I love the theme of loss and recovery of the last movie. I needed that closure after going through so many changes since 1995. I’m also a much happier person and it coincidence the movie also ends on that note .❤️
Hideaki Anno should do Shin Nausicaä, he wanted to do a sequel to the 1984 anime film from Hayao Miyazaki and he did approve but Anno recently asked permission from Miyazaki for a live action Nausicaä and Miya-san refused to have it in live action.
A live action Shin Nausicaä that combines US and Japanese talent under Anno’s vision would be amazing.
Also, Shin Super Sentai: Power Rangers would be great as well, especially if it combines the American and Japanese lore and canon well. As well as both American and Japanese Rangers.

It really would. I have fond memories of MST3K's treatments of the various Gamera films, and watching Anno take a dramatic stab at it the way he did with Shin Godzilla would be a delight.
@@EvaMonkeydid you see the 90's Gamera Trilogy? Higuchi was working on them at the time time Anno was producing Evangelion, and they both visited each other's studios as support. The final film in the trilogy is damn close to a "Shin" treatment, but the entire trilogy is fantastic. Arrow Video recently released all of it in an amazing bluray set. Highly recommended!

While these may not be very popular, I'd watch an anime adaptation of Angelic Days, Campus Apocalypse, or The Shinji Ikari Raising Project without hesitation. And it goes without saying that it would be cool if NGE got the Sailor Moon Crystal treatment with a direct adaptation of the manga.
Evangelion was genuinely a cultural reset. I said it. It doesn’t need to keep going on. It has left its mark on anime forever.
I do like to see this tech-fest continued in other stories. This liquid & concrete installations, and this machine plus Biological / Gen Tech. Also this sense of scale from the first 2 movies. With the Moon visit, or the base with its elevators and railroads.

Honestly they need to make a game utilizing new graphics and console power. They already have a habit of making the games diverge from the original anime, so maybe they could do a variation of the Rebuild series as 3 games, with 1&2 being together 3 being it's own, and 3.0+1.0 being the final one in the series.
Would love to see something animated in the style of Persona 5 or DBZ Fighterz. Game animation styled heavily on the anime source.
In terms of other media, I think Eva ended on a good note. I hope they don't drag it down by running it on too long.
They could easily make a spiritual successor that draws from the themes of EVA but in another world with different characters to create different perspective.
i'd be interested in seeing studio khara pursue more eva things eventually. whether that's fanworks getting an animated reinterpretation, small vignettes shining light on briefly mentioned or easily overlooked pieces of world building. I'd be interested in anything they'd announce. beyond eva i'll likely take a look at what khara releases in the future. a part of me would be interested in seeing how they handle making a EVA game. would it be a FPS type game?, a medieval sword/melee focused fighting game? would it do a sort of Half-Life opposing force type deal where you go through iconic EVa locations seeing either the aftermath of the series protagonists or catching glimpses of them. the JSDF attack on nerv in EOE provides a golden opportunity for such a game.
I like the idea of supplemental work, perhaps an anthology like the Animatrix or Halo Legends, the universe of Neon Genesis Evangelion seems well set up for that format
I personally think a spinoff with toji and kensuke chilling (pre shinji punch) would be cool, imagine the story of toji tryna get along w hikari, and kensuke camping adventures
For now I'm just excited to see how Eva 3.0+1.0 will be included in the next Super Robot Wars game

Waiting for the next series of movies seeing what occurred during the 14 year gap. As well as a new final ending with Shinji going w Asuka

Jokes aside I'd love to see a mini series or shorts based around the 14 years time skip or something exploring Mari's background story a little more in detail. I also think it's not unlikely that we'll see something like that in the future but probably without Anno's involvement, which is fine. I believe Eva at this point has become such a great franchise that I actually wanna see other people's vision of this universe. Anno told his story. Let the man retire (from evangelion at least).

1:58 Even if it was a bad financial choice i really believe that gurren lagann shouldn't be underestimated. I don't think the first or even the 2nd eva rebuild movies hold a candle to it, even if evangelion as a whole has made a bigger cultural impact.
That aside i am looking forward to what χαρα has in mind for the future.

Love the thumbnail I would personally like to see a Fate/Zero styled prequel of Neon Genesis Evangelion leading up to the events of the show. Maybe, starting it prior to the second impact to sometime before the events of the first episode. But it still needs to be confusing, that’s what makes Eva so fun to watch.
Honestly don’t care whether Anno will do more or not. He’ll do whatever he feels like it and we should support whatever he feels will make him happy.
