Great video - very informative as usual! Cheers Steve👍🏼
Hi Steve I bought HP Tuners around 18 months ago as having had my car remapped I wanted to be able to make adjustments myself. I found myself spending lots of time on forums reading rather than asking questions as those sorts of forums really don't cater to a learner. Along the way, I found that the mapping strategy used on the Euro Fiesta ST and 1.0 is very similar to what VW used on the Mk6 Golf that had the Bosch MED 17 which was a great help as there is lots of info out there for VW for some reason Ford is not anywhere near as popular. So, I thank you for making this video as it is very informative.
It's worth mentioning that it is very wise to have the ability to make a spare ECU (CLONE) should you decide to go down this path if you have some sort of write error you'll not be using your car until you get the ECU bench flashed.
I have also experimented with an aftermarket ECU on my car which took many hours just to make an adaptor loom to go from Ford to my ECU and although it had many great features the engine just didn't drive anywhere near as nice as the stock ECU also idle was shocking as was controlling the VVC on the cams tp try and get more low-end torque. I gave up in the end and had much more success with the HP software. Keep meaning to get HP to add the ability to change out the stock TIP and MAP sensors as I want to use 3.5 bar versions.
I have read about the golf's having a similar ecu. But I haven't come across much useful info although iv not looked too hard either. I done some hp academy courses which helped a lot but iv still a lot to learn. If you have any good sources of info please send me some on my Instagram @sparkplugsteve. Thanks for your comment
An sps vid is always a good time to have a cuppa and enjoy! Soon you're gonna be a tooner! Cant wait to see more on the 265!
Great video but I have no idea what you are torqueing about. :-)
Reminds me of the old Evo days.
Spending time learning it all.
Dare I say adding a bit of negative timing in the low load cells.
🙈
Oh god steve, amazing info but your gonna get all the fiesta guys randomly doing this and poping there engines aha. YOUR TOO DEEP!
Haha thanks.
An interesting video Steve, when is the tuning shop opening, as I'll bring my 5 pot along lol.
You will be driving home on the back of a recovery truck. 😅
@@Sparkplugsteve 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
Are you going to edit your map?
Thats a great video Steve, thing is with mapping every mod you make which could potentially affect ur fuel/spark requirements needs map adjustments so its a massive plus to be able to do it yourself really, where did you purchase the HP Tuners kit from ? And have you fitted a wide band 02 sensor to monitor ur AFR ratio’s ?
Fiesta has a wide band as standard and I bought it from hp tuners direct . Thanks.
@@Sparkplugsteve Yes i know it has wide band as standard but i meant a AFR gauge in the car so you can see at a glance ur air/fuel ratio
I have a lufi x1 gauge so can see my afr in there 👍
@@Sparkplugsteve Sound Steve, do you think you will get the hang of this mapping eventually ?
@Steve Guest yeh hp tuners makes it very easy.
How do you find the HP Tuners Software? Looking at potentially picking it up?
I like it. Much easier than winols
Changing things is vey easy, improving them….now that’s much harder.
This is true.
Cool 👍🇫🇷
Interesting watch.
Get a disclaimer in there before someone does this themselves and pops an engine..... and their mates engine.
