Charles I have great affection for you . a great lad .normal as they come . and who encouraged me in watercoloring ,and a wonderful demo ,from a wonderful teacher, thank you Alan
Of all the artists online you are by far my favorite. Love them all. I am self taught and been practicing for 2 yrs now. Love all the tricks of the trade you share. I struggle most with the darn sketching. I think I need a class on that eventually. I tried to practice one of your paintings as reference. I will keep working on it. Having trouble lifting paint off in the sky. Just smears?? Anyway love your work. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Charles for all your kind advice and instruction, you are an inspiration to all , your help and clear guidance is like no other ! You can always rely on a Yorkshire man for straightforward speaking ! Again we are all so appreciative of you and your camera helper ( sorry forgot her name ) Thanks.
Hi Charles and Gail. Another lovely painting. I just purchased your 100 tips for watercolor, can't wait to receive. I have adjusted my palette to be like yours, including Hooker's Green. I see that you had the same palette 10 years ago as you do now. That says something about the choices of colors. I have 2 more colors in mine: Winsor Newton Transparent Yellow (PY150) and WN Intense Blue (PB15). Gives me a bit more range. I hope they don't conflict with the other colors. Cheers to you both!!!!
Terry we're English. We don't mumble lol. The sound here was very clear and loud through headphones, No issues at all. Good job Charles and thank you for the instructions.
Hi Charles, Really like your style of painting, not too loose and far from being stiff You also have the talk to go with it.Ever given the thought of coming down to New Zealand and imparting your skills to a very receptive kiwi following.More than happy to look after your accommodation in Auckland but would have to insist you spent half an hour sitting in ourt tender painting our 14m yacht Claymoore
Mr. Evans I absolutely love your paintings! This painting is amazing! You explain things so thoroughly that I should be able to paint it and I am not an artist! But I do love watercolor! I noticed the date on this was 2013 so that's been a few years ago but I still wanted to give you this comment and compliment your beautiful painting! I know you've done figures and you've shown tips and tricks on how to do them but I just cannot get the hang of it, it would be so much appreciated if you could do figures again! Thank you again please do more videos!
Hello Charles, I have your book on tips for Watercolour. I love the book by the way. The video demonstration of this painting is much different then the step by step approach of creating skies for example in the book. From what I see, it's all about timing, putting down a wash and quickly wiping out the clouds. The addition of the live presentation does help convey on how to create other parts of the landscape in watercolour as well. The focal point, and colour harmony in a painting is still a mystery, but I'll figure it out. Thanks.
Brilliant art. I like your themes and the techniques you use. You are a true artist. The only downside in your videos is the sound. I couldn't hear some of your instructions. I guess it's best if you use a mic. Overall so beautiful.
Not sure why all the fuss about sound quality. Loud and clear with no problem understanding you! Excellent instruction and amazing work! Thank you for being my new favorite 'teacher'!! Love your water bucket---brand name please!
Jamie Badore ahahahah, thank you very much indeed. Don't forget there are those that like to complain, someone even said I should put subtitles! Yes of course I will, maybe in every language!! All for free of course!!!
Helló! Csak ámulok ahogykialakul egy - egy figura. Bokor, fa, vagy az út, a víz, Szinte érezni ahogy a szellő átsuhan a tó partján, és érezni a víz különös illatát. Köszönöm az élményt! Szalianna Hungary
I don't understand all the sound issues people are having. It's perfectly clear hear. It might be worthwhile some people check out their audio settings. BTW Charles where can I get that water bucket from here in the UK?
learning so much about technique thank you ,could you tell me what the main colours in your palette are thanks and as a late starter to painting you helped me so much
For those interested in further learning and direction from Charles, I can highly recommend any of his book's, of which can be easily found on Amazon. I have several of them and they do what they say on the proverbial tin,. They teach you to paint :) , Thankyou Charles.
Lovely, and 30 paintings a week!? Just...wow, where I go wrong is labouring over details which eats time, I see you pretty much get it all done in one or two layers which is really hard
hi Charles love your work have been inspired by you for years. One question the masking tape you use to frame your paintings? any I use lifts the paper surface, (I am using same as you 140 watercolour )
Great watercolour Charles, you inspired me paint about thirteen years ago I have not stopped since, it's all about practice, by the way I find it difficult to hear what you are saying in this video perhaps its my hearing best of luck to you.
I have trouble understanding what he is saying too. The clanging in the water bucket is loud but I have to turn it up to hear Charles. My hearing is not good either so I guess that is the problem.
If i should name one thing i learned from your great videos i would be that my use if water is totally wrong. When you say " use lot if water" i would call it dry. My color always become like tea, because i am afraid that they get to intense. I will try to change that. Thx alot.
I very much enjoy your videos. But there are times when I have the volume on my laptop turned all the way up and I still have trouble hearing you. Unfortunately my headset plug-in is not working. This may help if I could plug into it. I want to continue to watch you so I feel a lot of your viewers would benefit from some sort sound adjustment.
Hi Charles, I love your videos but it is not clear on the sound and also the camera is not that clear when you are painting. I would love to see it more closely. great work Thank You
Uma Sivaram sorry about that, you're one of very few people to say that of this one. We make them in my studio where the acoustics are not brilliant. And without expensive sound equipment, for which we would have to charge there's very little we can do about it!
CLOSED CAPTION is not good - having it right would be most most helpful. Love watching your paintings evolve but for the life of me can't get through the accent: sorry.
Charles I have great affection for you . a great lad .normal as they come . and who encouraged me in watercoloring ,and a wonderful demo ,from a wonderful teacher, thank you Alan
Alan Owen that’s so kind, thank you very much.
Thank you Charles Evans for the wonderful Video, I love all your work;-) You are a true master!!!

Camille Covington pleased you’re enjoying them. The brush should be very damp, not dry when you’re taking out!
That was a great insight into just how quickly a fantastic picture can be completed. Thank you, Charles.
So pleased you enjoyed it.
Thanks Charles for all your kind advice and instruction, you are an inspiration to all , your help and clear guidance is like no other ! You can always rely on a Yorkshire man for straightforward speaking ! Again we are all so appreciative of you and your camera helper ( sorry forgot her name )
Thanks.
Thank you soo much and you’re very welcome.
You are very sympathique and generous. Thank you for this beatiful demo.

I hope you enjoy your new colour range.
Ahha, that's a magic bucket, now I see how you get away with not changing your water .😀lovely paintings.
Elf Lords Journeys thank you very much
Agree with audio comments on all three videos I've seen so far. Love the demos though! Thank you for sharing your talents with us Charles.
Perhaps the problem is the accent that I'm not used to (I'm from the US) and a some mumbling.
Terry we're English. We don't mumble lol. The sound here was very clear and loud through headphones, No issues at all. Good job Charles and thank you for the instructions.
Thank you Charles, your paintings are so special , beautiful colours and your explanation is so clear that i'm going to try following your demo :)
Charles, I'm so glad I discovered your channel. For some reason I'm having difficulty hearing you at times. Lots of talent!
Hi Charles, I’m very impressed with how you explained your composition and reasons for your decisions.
I’m pleased you enjoyed it.
Very well done! I hope one day to be good like you. Thank you!
Brilliant Charles. The most inspiring videos I've seen on youtube (and I've seen quite a lot). I'm off to get my paints out. Thank you

Pleased you like them. No I don’t believe in labouring with layers upon layers. I prefer a bit of spontaneity.
Beautiful.

Dermot cavanagh watercolour painting
jim chalmers what?
It all worked well for me until the left hand side I felt the contrast between the near path and the "far" away path was to steep. Good tutorial.
What state is your floor in ??😂
Don Allen always messy!!
If i should name one thing i learned from your great videos i would be that my use if water is totally wrong. When you say " use lot if water" i would call it dry. My color always become like tea, because i am afraid that they get to intense. I will try to change that. Thx alot.

Hi Charles, I love your videos but it is not clear on the sound and also the camera is not that clear when you are painting. I would love to see it more closely. great work Thank You
Beautiful painting, I can't hear you very well.
Thank you. The next ones are much better sound.
IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR 90% OF WHAT YOU ARE SAYING-TOO BAD, WOULD BE OF INTEREST!
Sorry about that!
The art work is brilliant but the audio is poor. Can't hear you much of the time.
The tips and techniques - very good, but it is not audible enough to understand anything you speak. Only few things can be heard.
Uma Sivaram sorry about that, you're one of very few people to say that of this one. We make them in my studio where the acoustics are not brilliant. And without expensive sound equipment, for which we would have to charge there's very little we can do about it!
