Of all the artists online you are by far my favorite. Love them all. I am self taught and been practicing for 2 yrs now. Love all the tricks of the trade you share. I struggle most with the darn sketching. I think I need a class on that eventually. I tried to practice one of your paintings as reference. I will keep working on it. Having trouble lifting paint off in the sky. Just smears?? Anyway love your work. Thanks for sharing

Camille Covington pleased you’re enjoying them. The brush should be very damp, not dry when you’re taking out!

Hi Charles and Gail. Another lovely painting. I just purchased your 100 tips for watercolor, can't wait to receive. I have adjusted my palette to be like yours, including Hooker's Green. I see that you had the same palette 10 years ago as you do now. That says something about the choices of colors. I have 2 more colors in mine: Winsor Newton Transparent Yellow (PY150) and WN Intense Blue (PB15). Gives me a bit more range. I hope they don't conflict with the other colors. Cheers to you both!!!!

Perhaps the problem is the accent that I'm not used to (I'm from the US) and a some mumbling.

Terry we're English. We don't mumble lol. The sound here was very clear and loud through headphones, No issues at all. Good job Charles and thank you for the instructions.

    Hi Charles,
Really like your style of painting, not too loose and far from being stiff You also have the talk to go with it.Ever given the thought of coming down to New Zealand and imparting your skills to a very receptive kiwi following.More than happy to look after your accommodation in Auckland but would have to insist you spent half an hour sitting in ourt tender painting our 14m yacht Claymoore

Mr. Evans I absolutely love your paintings! This painting is amazing! You explain things so thoroughly that I should be able to paint it and I am not an artist! But I do love watercolor! I noticed the date on this was 2013 so that's been a few years ago but I still wanted to give you this comment and compliment your beautiful painting! I know you've done figures and you've shown tips and tricks on how to do them but I just cannot get the hang of it, it would be so much appreciated if you could do figures again! Thank you again please do more videos!

Hello Charles, I have your book on tips for Watercolour. I love the book by the way. The video demonstration of this painting is much different then the step by step approach of creating skies for example in the book. From what I see, it's all about timing, putting down a wash and quickly wiping out the clouds. The addition of the live presentation does help convey on how to create other parts of the landscape in watercolour as well. The focal point, and colour harmony in a painting is still a mystery, but I'll figure it out. Thanks.

Brilliant art. I like your themes and the techniques you use. You are a true artist. The only downside in your videos is the sound. I couldn't hear some of your instructions. I guess it's best if you use a mic. Overall so beautiful.

Lovely, and 30 paintings a week!? Just...wow, where I go wrong is labouring over details which eats time, I see you pretty much get it all done in one or two layers which is really hard

Great watercolour Charles, you inspired me paint about thirteen years ago I have not stopped since, it's all about practice, by the way I find it difficult to hear what you are saying in this video perhaps its my hearing best of luck to you.

I have trouble understanding what he is saying too. The clanging in the water bucket is loud but I have to turn it up to hear Charles. My hearing is not good either so I guess that is the problem.

If i should name one thing i learned from your great videos i would be that my use if water is totally wrong. When you say " use lot if water" i would call it dry. My color always become like tea, because i am afraid that they get to intense. I will try to change that. Thx alot.

I very much enjoy your videos. But there are times when I have the volume on my laptop turned all the way up and I still have trouble hearing you. Unfortunately my headset plug-in is not working. This may help if I could plug into it. I want to continue to watch you so I feel a lot of your viewers would benefit from some sort sound adjustment.
