As a fan of your earlier TV shows I consider you to be a great teacher. I realise you are constantly busy but please don't leave a long time between your educational videos. They are invaluable.
this is the best tutorial I have seen yet. I'm brand new at this..and these tips are giving me some confidence that my pics wont come out like a kinder-gardeners painting. Thanx so much

You now have a fan for life in North Carolina.. I am going to purchase your book, and maybe even a piece of artwork. Blessings...
Charles I have to say, I have watched many videos on here of art tutorials, probably in the hundreds, but this has to be the best tutorial video I have seen yet, I am so inspired by you. Thank you very much. Paul
I second that. As a beginner I haven' t found a site that's so helpful. I'm going to buy his book. I love his sense of humour. Digital art and the reference to the red wine had me laughing.
Oh I could watch this again and again. Thank you Charles. So glad I met you recently and looked for your tutorials! You are a very inspirational Teacher. Thanks again for your time and for sharing your art :)
hi Charles, greetings from Australia, love your videos. ive just started teaching myself to watercolor and have learnt heaps from you. so easy to follow and understand. Cheers
where / how can I buy your book (a question from Poland) You're great MASTER!!!! and I am just starting with watercolors... I... I love your art...!!!!!
This video is quite old (but still valuable content). If you check out his newer ones, he has a separate mic and you can hear him clearly. He is a brilliant painter and instructor. Happy painting!
Wow, this was fantastic. I love the people and animals....I never attempted them before but now I will. You are an excellent teacher and thank you for sharing your talent
Aaaaaah i'm inspired, at 56 my wife bought me my water colour starter kit, fantastic to watch you make it look easy, but have you ever watched anyone who knows his skill it always looks easy ,thank you and keep it up i will be watching and learning hopefully
As an oil and acrylics painter I decided (yesterday!) to learn watercolor...and I found YOU!!! How lucky I am!!! You definitely inspired me sooo much!!! I’ll start tomorrow 👍🏻 thanks so much for being such an outstanding teacher 👨🏫
I can't believe how much I've learned from this brief video! Thank you! I love watercolor. I've been painting my little heart out, going to a weekly class for the past six months and have not made much progress. After viewing this video, I'm marching right into my little studio and getting to work. You have reinvigorated my efforts with tangible instructions for a beginner. I'm happy! Claire
Wow, I am so hooked on your videos. Thank you for your down to earth and very informative tutorial. You've taken the scariness out of it and makes me want to try this out.
What a fabulous painter you are, Charles. 'Love your approach to painting; knocks all the stuffiness out of it. Thanks for showing us novices your advanced painting talent, accompanied by your down to earth style.
Love your demo's. Thanks so much. I have yet to achieve landscapes in watercolor. I do best with infant portraits and still life. But I am not even fond of still life! LOL. BTW, the sunsets here where I live are extremely intense and vibrant and I have yet to see a painting close to it without looking unreal. Because its so amazing in reality. Some things one tries to paint that is real, just seems unreal.
I am a beginner and started water color art very recently. I have seen many tutorial videos but found your video to be the best one. Charles, you have generously given ideas to draw various objects starting from rocks, sky, various types of trees, people and animals. Extremely thankful for your wonderful ideas and time
Wow!! Mind blowing techniques! Charles, Just Love your simple techniques and mixing colours....Love the varieties of simple objects you use, to incorporate into your painting. TI like painting trees, you showed easier method to paint TREES. Thank you.
I'm sold!!! Just subscribed to your channel and your book is definitely the next one I'm getting. Thanks a lot for the effort to share your knowledge with everyone, it's really appreciated.
Hi Charles I am a beginner and i have learnt so much from your videos. Great stuff. Thank you very much for your tuition. Already i have had some good results.
One of the best tips & techniques videos I have seen on here.... Thanks so much for sharing! Would like to know what type of brushes you are using? They don't look like sables as you are quite vigorous with them. I've bought the series 7 and winced at the thought of using them as you do with yours.
Omg Charles , this is awesome stuff here... Love the way you instruct .... You make it look so easy.... Love a video on street scenes with people in them. People are difficult for this beginner... Again I love your videos I couldn't watch all of this one yet on account of timing. But I can assure you it'll be watched in full this evening. Cheers!
Thank you for these great watercolour tips, especially the trees. Any chance you can address painting palm trees and more tropical foliage? I enjoy all your videos and look forward to seeing more in the future.
Merci beaucoup Charles, pour le partage de votre savoir faire, de toutes les techniques, qui nous semble si facile à vous regardez, C' est dommage que je ne comprends pas l Anglais ,merci
Mr Evans, Your trees (and art) are amazing/stunning and fabolous. I recently came across your channel and going over your videos. I love it how you keep it simple and creative, and one can tell you love what you are doing, no matter if it is a pile of rock or a full big board of painting you are doing at the moment. Your enthusiasm and passion comes through. Thank you for sharing your techniques, valuable thoughts and your own style and ways. This kind of art what makes my heart jump! Your creativity and experience combined with your talent, what a perfect combination. I always wanted to try painting landscapes (Do or do not, but don't try, as Yoda said, haha). Talent is something you either have or you don't. It can be that easy ;) otherwise, it would be never ever be the same if the two of us would paint the same thing, with same movements, brunshes, paints, etc. standing next to each other in the same room. Because you have it in you, and you know how and where to place the colours cos you know what you are doing and what you would like to achieve n the paper, and I might not, but just dreaming about it. Unfortunately (or fortunately, because I love my profession too) I work in finance/economic field but painting became my (expensive) hobby under covid in 2020. And I love it. I've learnt a lot since, but I guess you'd have good laughs if you'd see my "art" :D :D (sometimes I laugh hard too) but I do it for fun and it makes me feel wonderful, and a strict guide or limiting my options would kill the game for me. I like to find my own ways too, and through experience and practice. I learn a lot from your videos - thank you, I truly appreciate it! I absorb it as a sponge can absorb water. I cannot wait to finally use my A3 size cotton paper which I did not dare to use yet. Greetings from Hungary and happy new year for 2024! edit: I just found out about your books and ordered 2. 🥳
Thank you so much. I’m pleased you’re enjoying them. Always remember, you paint for yourself and not other people. So paint what you want in a style that suits you.
Hello, Charles EVANS, appreciate your work! Isn't quite your website/name charlesevans.com instead of - as in the first pic in your video - (quote) "Evens", which could have been confusing at the very beginning... Well, sorry for that, but anyway, great job! Thanks!
