that is so clear that I would try it for sure, even if I am not into slapping! could you please mention the basses you used in your video? and what about the string gauge? and how to set up the tone , bass and amp, properly for slap? and... Thank you!
Hi Alain - hope you're well! Many thanks for the positive feedback, it means a lot. Regarding your questions about tone/strings etc. I'm running a live bass tone workshop on Tuesday at 8pm where I'm diving deep into that stuff and taking questions. It'll remain up as a normal video after the fact, but if you're around it would be lovely to have your input. Here's the link - you have the option to set a reminder over there - ua-cam.com/video/g2ESii71OBU/v-deo.html
Thanks, Christopher! The bass is is a Warwick Corvette FNA yes. It's a long scale - actually on loan to me. I wanted to use something with a MM pickup to get a tone closer to Louis's. :)
I really like Warwick basses and have owned several over the years. I'm yet to try a SS one but a Skype student of mine has one like yours which he loves. One day I'll get round to fitting a MM pup in an SWB body... :)
Fantastic! There's no better way to memorise and practice such a beast of a line. Well done
Best lesson for Stomp I've seen. Bravo! Love how you found a way to play the overdub!
