Stellar job and choice! The iconic slap break is great fun but his distinctive and sophisticated time feel is on display as well as his fingerstyle greatness. You can definitely see/hear why Quincy Jones (among others) loved working with him
Is the output of your stingray sub also very hot? The max volume of my Sub is like 5x higher output than my other basses (2 Marcus Miller Sire basses + 1 Squier Pro Tone)

The SUB basses are very good. The tone is obviously not quite as good as an old StingRay, but certainly a very useable instrument.

Yeah, crazy hot. Difficult to record with to be honest, have to put the volume down pretty low
