Really appreciate the time and effort you took in creating these how to videos. I just purchased a Core-5 about an hour ago and feel confident I can handle the assembly and adjustments when the time comes. I'm a 71 year young male and this will be my first E-bike. Hoping I made the right choice with the Core-5 as a starter bike. Happy trails!
Glad I could help!
I will continue to make more. Subscribe to my channel for future updates!
Thank you so much for addressing the rear brake issue. Really helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
It certainly was helpful, though Ride1up should be embarrassed by that solution. People who don't own hack saws and vices just can't safely use their bikes after a couple of years.
I do have an Amazon link in the description for a set of short Allen wrenches if you don’t want to cut one down.
@@TinkeringTurtle Already did it, but I sure wish I'd seen the link yesterday! Thanks again.
Thank you for these videos. I just purchased the exact same bike color and style. After watching your videos, I was able to make minor adjustments to the front disc brake and adjust the derailleur! I am a 68 year old female, and I was able to do it myself!!! Love this bike. It is a great value for those looking for an entry level ebike.
That is fantastic to hear! I am so glad I could help, that is exactly why I started the channel and why I put in the effort!
Enjoy the ride!
Just ordered my Ride1up Core-5. Was watching the company’s assembly video as a prep and your video popped up. Was happy to see the details you added; will be watching this one a few times !
I hope it makes things easier for you!
Enjoy your new bike!
Hello, how do you like your core 5 and how is it up hills?… thanks
One of the most thorough reviews I've ever seen.. excellent..I think I want this bike..for the value n performance. Thanks for your real world help.
Glad it was helpful! We really do love this bike!
This video helped me so much. I made a quick adjust to the front brake cause they were dragging. now it rolls smooth and quiet. This is a lot of bike for the price!!
Nice work!
Enjoy your bike!
Great, thorough video. Nice.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for showing the right way to setup the bike.
You touched on a couple of points that I never knew and now I'm a bit wiser and I thank you for that.
Just found your site and now a new subscriber.
Glad it was helpful!
Welcome aboard.
nice job and very helpfull thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much this helped alot
Glad it helped!
Wow, you got a new bike 👍
Yeah I did!
If you move the indexer counter clockwise on the first gear (largest cog), then if you shift down to the last gear (lowest) wouldn't it affect the last gear. or is the indexer adjust independent for each gear?
It shouldn’t. The indexing adjustment moves the derailleur (the 2 small hanging gears) in or out slightly to line up with a given gear on the cassette. The amount that the derailleur moves when you shift gears is controlled on the gear shifter on the handle bars. I hope this helps!
Solid instruction. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Really helpful and clear :)
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy the ride!
I wanted to ask if they can take on hills in throttle mode.
There are some variables that would be needed to be taken into consideration. How much of a head start you have, weight of the rider, etc.. My neighbor is a petite woman of 120lbs or less and she, with enough head start, can throttle over some reasonably big hills.
But at the end of the day this is a 500watt motor and it should be pedaled to help the motor overcome obstacles. if you have a medical or physical reason for not pedaling you may want to consider something stronger.
Thanks for the response
they need to send these "easy to self make 5m wrenches for the rear breaks out with the other wrenches. That is not easy for all of us to make
I don’t disagree. you can get low profile hex wrenches on Amazon though. I think I put a link in the description.
Are you certain that the offset hex set from amazon you link to will work? The Ride1Up site says to trim to 8mm and the set you link to is 10mm...
The Ride1UP support page says 13mm. The 8mm dimension isn’t the overall height.

@@TinkeringTurtle The reason I asked is that I have a shocking similar 10mm set that doesn't work for my 500 XR.
@Bob Kuszewski I have to admit I haven’t purchased the set. I looked at the overall 13mm dimension on the cut Allen wrench and found a set of low-profile hex wrenches that was less than the 13mm. Nobody has given any positive or negative feedback yet.
The bend in the handle is a killer.
@@TinkeringTurtle ok thanks
