    Love Silent Scope, was soo looking forward to the Dreamcast version as there was news that it would come with a scope with a mini screen inside the scope. But that never happened, also had this gun but was annoyed the sight never properly lined up with the one on screen. Ended up just buying an actual arcade machine in the end. which was too big to fit through my front door, so I left it wrapped up in tarpaulin outside :(

      @GouldFishOnGames  4 роки тому

      Yeah it takes a bit of work to get it to mostly line up and its never perfect, that buying the arcade machine makes total sense to me.
      Is it still sat under the tarpaulin or did you do something with it?

      @@GouldFishOnGames its still there, it got a bit wet, but needs a bit of care to get running again 100%

    Since this light gun is not compatible with the HDTV, then I think there's a way--
    -Brook Wingman XB adapter
    -A USB female to Xbox male adapter
    -PS3 Cabela Dangerous Hunts rifle controller (the 2011 version has the scope)

    Nice vid. I liked Silent Scope in the arcade, and the light sensitive zoom feature is really neat, plus the shotgun load is just awesome.

      Yeah those are the best parts of the gun, it almost comes together to recreate an unique arcade game, but after you use it for a while it sort becomes uncomfortable to hold and use, its a so close and yet so far.

    That thing is huge, I thought the superscope was pushing too big for a lightgun, but the really took the biscuit with that thing.

    • @GouldFishOnGames
      @GouldFishOnGames  4 роки тому

      Yeah it is a little crazy, and its not helped by the fact that some of the parts are just pointless bits of plastic

    It took me a boatload of trial and error but I found on my TV that cranking the color, brightness and picture settings to max could get the light rifle to function rather nicely with no dead zones at 32 with the in game brightness setting and not look totally unplayable.

    • @GouldFishOnGames

      Its amazing how much work it is to get that one game to run nicely.
      I hope the end result was fun to play.

      @@GouldFishOnGames Oh absolutely, it is a shame it's so hard to get going right otherwise more people could enjoy it because it's probably one of the best compilations ever made content wise. I've always heard it was bad programming or a glitch in the code of Silent Scope Complete that causes the terrible tracking, that and the fact that it is always tracking the gun's location compared to a standard light gun game that just tracks when a shot is fired.

    Manufacturers seem to put a lot of effort into lightguns for many systems, but fail on the whole because developers can't make the best of them or even good enough to make them worth buying. Has there ever been a killer light gun game (ie. one that makes people actually want to buy a lightgun).

      Ponder's Retro Goodness the Top Shot Elite from the Cabela's games gets really close. The plastic optic that comes with it has a red front lens which is annoying but it mounts on a plastic air gun rail so you can stick an air gun optic on there. I have an air gun rail to Picatinny rail adapter & a cheap knockoff EOTech Zombi Stopper mounted on it (even I’m not crazy enough to put an £800 EOTech on there!) which makes for a great gun ergonomically, the huge disappointment though is the Wii couldn’t keep up with me changing my point of aim. I put it together to play that Resident Evil rail shooter that came out on the Wii but I’d shoot 3 zombies & look at the screen to see the on screen reticle is just moving off the 1st zombi. 😕

      Namco did quite well in the Ps1 and Ps2 days with their G-Con and a whole bunch of games like time crisis and point blank.
      And while Sega didn't get a lot of backing the Saturn lightgun was great for the Virtua Cop games.

      I got a Saturn just so I could have the only port of the 1st house of the Dead, that alone was worth it all

    Having used a few light guns I tend to find that the more advanced the technology gets the worse the sensors perform for some reason. Justifer no problems but with the Virtua Cop lightgun onwards the sensors seem to get weaker somehow. 🤔

    It gets so close to being the gun guy’s light gun but it’s a bit let down ergonomically by the pistol-like stock connecting to the bottom of the pistol grip. If they’d had it connect where the memory card slot is it would have been the best light gun. The “linear kickback” fake recoil is kind of pointless, it doesn’t feel real & like you said it’s distractingly noisy. Starsky & Hutch is… challenging played with the Sniper Scope, not the least because I’m left handed so I have to shoot off-hand to reach the thumb stick.
    Great video again, thanks dude. 😊

      Yeah it could have been great but so many small issues.
      I think the barrel might be there just to show you how close to the screen you need to be :D

    • @GouldFishOnGames
      @GouldFishOnGames  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah, I still find it amazing that I think more companies made lightguns for the Xbox then made games for it.
      I guess the PS2 had that generation mostly to its self with those games.

      It looks like it got released by a few different companies.
      Not sure if its a regional thing, or some company folded and another took over.
      But they all look like they have the same box art with just the logo changed.

    • @GouldFishOnGames

      It might be written on the TV or in the manual (you can normally find the TV's manual if you search for its full name).
      I'm not sure I've come across many of them, but there must have been enough for them to mention it on the box.
