In my opinion, is one of my favorite, not because is one most simplest watch from the Rolex family, the watch is classic, excellent quality and it has history , the first wristwatch waterproof and the first watch with a self winding rotor that revolutionized the world watch industry, that's the reason that it knows as Oyster Perpetual. Very iconic watch ⌚️
Just bought one yesterday with the dark rhodium dial. I absolutely love it. Looked at the blue dial as well - gorgeous, but a bit sportier & not as dress-versatile as the dark rhodium. Tourneau in NYC was a pleasure to deal with.
About to pull the trigger on a OP after a Tudor AD questioned my ability to pay for a Black Bay Black 36 and even questioned if I was employed....Tudor just don't seem adequate any more.
I bought my first Rolex recently, an OP 39 with the dark grape dial and bright red pips. Absolutely love it and certainly not the least bit ostentatious. Perfect with a suit and probably not the ideal watch with jeans and tee shirt, but I don’t really care. It’s class👍👍
I bought one of these .... Also Dark Rhodium. After saving for a long time I eventually got a pre owned. In the hand it is very handsome ... It has poor legibility when on the wrist. The lume on my example is really pathetic and the hands have almost none. So yes it is beautiful but is less than practical in the long run.
This is the same model of watch my dad gave me as a gift for my promotion to 4th degree blackbelt, a master level in my martial art. I have worn it every single day except for the one day I left it on the counter when I got out of the shower. I agree with you 100% when you say this is a tank in a tuxedo. I only take it off when I'm working on my truck or showering. I absolutely adore this watch.
I think you made the right choice with the blue dial - the rhodium dial has a lack of contrast with hands and can be difficult to read at times, especially with very reflective sapphire. Do you miss the date? Would a datejust blue dial be a better option?
Awesome review! I just bought the old Rolex Oyster Perpetual from 1978 and I love it. The only thing that might bother some people is that it has a really small diameter with 34mm, but since I don't have the biggest wrists it's no problem for me.
I have had this same reference for about 2 months now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is great bang for the buck. I also own a explorer 1 current reference that I got about 6 months prior to the o.p.. You really arent losing any performance going with the o.p. vs the Explorer 1. If I had to pick just one I might go with the o.p.. That on a side note the bracelets on both models leave something to be desired. They are rattle traps. Both watches were purchased brand new from an a.d. so no doubts there. I also have 3 tag heuer carreras with the newer "H" bracelet or grand carrera bracelet and have noticed these bracelets are much better in terms of tolerances and quietness. Even my 2 omega seamasters a aqua terra and planet ocean have better bracelets. I am not a rolex fan boy and am just calling it as I see it.
Two of your dislikes about the OP are why I picked up an Explorer. The Rhodium dial is a great looking piece but the lack of lume was a negative for me. What really swung it was the clasp. The Oysterlock is fantastic and the easylink is a brilliant feature, that gets used frequently. Love that sunburst dial though...
Watch Slob fair comment. I understand what you mean about lume. I guess in many ways it pushed me to get another rolex lol. Which explorer 1 did you pick up? Basel 2016?
When I was at the AD recently I tried this watch on and really liked it The Rhodium grey is easily my favorite. I just wished the bezel was a bit more angular and not so rounded in profile , this slight change would have made me buy it that day ... Enjoy the watch its a beauty!!
I have tried this watch on and the one negative for me was the clasp. The better clasp on the Explorer is a point of difference Rolex would be keen continue.
Bob FromBrisbane I have this watch, and to be honest, that was one of the things I thought could be better. however, after a year and a half of owning it, the clasp has never failed me, and I've taken it swimming, hiking, and on an archaeological dig. so while I think I would like the explorer 1 clasp better, functionally this clasp has never let me down.
Loved that watch sincei t came out. A little nod to contemporary from Rolex which doesn't happen often. 39mm is perfect size for me, really like the no date dial and the fact it's more affordable is a bonus too. I'm getting one later this year👍
New to your channel bro love the content. Just ordered this timepiece now the waiting!. I would love to go to dubai on vacation soon and see the rolex store. I would like to meet u in person and go watch shopping!.
great video as usal ☺ i got mine in blue two weeks ago and I can not stop wearing it... i fall in love with its legibility and versatility. It's the perfect tool watch for a day to day use. What about your explorer 2 since you have been purchase this op?
been getting into watches and have been learning alot. watching this review and alot of other videos about rolex really makes me appreciate the rolex brand in itself. alot of times i see it in music videos people flaunting them for status, but its more then that. i cant wait to own my first rolex, by then ill know everything about them and appreciate being a part of the rolex family and owner of their watch
I bought the 39 OP silver dial, and I love it. And you are right, it is a little hard to read, but I guess I will have to find another. Great watch, I will buy another.
I own a Oyster Perpetual watch. It is basic. Halston, fashion designer once stated "Less is more". A basic design is always classy. Like the Oyster Perpetual is always classy.
I had this excellent watch and I loved it. However, once I started wearing the 2016 Explorer I stopped wearing it. The rolex explorer at least to me, is the 39 mm watch to own. I ended up selling the OP 39 mm because I was not wearing it anymore. Explorer 2016 is that awesome. Great video thanks.
skrads interesting. I saw the 2016 explorer and was about to get one... but the 114300 Oyster Perpetual is a lot more dressy and in a collection like mine, better. But congrats on the explorer 1. Awesome.
Will this fit as well as my Submariner 16610 and my GMT 16710? Same lug width. Thank you very much! Liked, subscribed and shared. My absolute favorite UA-cam channel by far.
Hi! Great video. Do you know what is the material of the crown and the minute/hour/seconds hands? Thanks! I am not fully sure if I would get the Explorer 1 or the OP... thanks!!
Great video sir... I know this is a first level entry watch for the amazing world of rolex. What rolex brand would you consider a step up from this rolex brand...
Hey, im new to your channel., i need your honest opinion, because im planning to buy this watch, but my other option is the tudor gmt? What do you think should i get? Rolex op or Tudor gmt. Fyi tudor gmt is slightly cheaper though..
Why do i find this Rolex a great watch? Its better than a Rolex 10 or 20 times its value.A fantastic beautiful simple Rolex that looks absolutely wonderful with that splash of blue on it gray radium.not much of a Rolex fan but this one is amazing and its the cheapest.Well done Rolex for bringing out a watch,a beautiful watch, that many can afford.
OK, I have to say, you're really good at reviewing. I'm sure you're good at reviewing everything else on your channel, but it's scary good how you went into the good and bad of your OP39.
@Bob FromBrisbane The clasp bothers me to a certain degree, but its an entry level Rolex so I guess they have to distinguish it from other, more expensive models?
Rodrigo Orihuela i understand what he means. In any area, there will be the brand everyone knows, and then a handful of brands that only the enthusiasts know about. To me I assumed that Rolex was only a status symbol. Meaning that for the same price you could find a better mechanical watch that the “real” watch people would appreciate. I felt this way. But I have now come to realize that Rolex is both a watch that can be appreciated by both the wannabe wealthy and true watch enthusiast alike. A similar example exists with Montblanc when it comes to pens.
Yannick Andraschko try an equivalent size or the watch at a local store before purchasing. Some don’t mind the size but others will it’s so important to try a watch on your wrist multiple times before buying. Good luck.
Great review. I'm honestly not too crazy about most Rolex watches, simply because I find their styling too busy and frankly a bit gaudy. But I'm completely in love with the OP 39mm, and I'm planning to buy one shortly in Dark Rhodium. If all Rolexes were the same price, going purely by aesthetics this is still the model I would choose. As you've observed, very simple but incredibly well done.
Had the blue version. Loved it, then started disliking it. Not to the point of hating it, but just disliking it. Mainly the green dots and the fact that in different (far too many) light environments most of the markers disappear except for the ones at 3,6, and 9, making the dial look completely unbalanced and strange. This last problem seems to have been addressed with the new releases in black and white, and I was debating whether to acquire one of these when they become available, until I remembered something else I didn't quite like... The thick lugs and the way the bracelet connects to the case, making the case look far too "cushionny" for my taste, and I have never liked the way cushion cases look on the wrist. This last thing really bothered me a lot after a while.
Nice watch I like it ,but looks like 100$,and all Rolex is scratch magnetic ( I preffer date at 6),and movement is not the best, many cheap seiko (presage) or orient ,orient star know 1-2 sec /day
I managed to buy my OP 114300 in rhodium, two weeks ago and am so happy with it, took me the best part of four years saving !
Congrats its a stunning perfect all round watch. Wear it in good health.
EMKWAN REVIEWS thank you I will, and I hope you are still enjoying your 114300 , be lucky
Dazza. Great choice to last a lifetime

Love the scratches, it shows that you actually wear and enjoy the watch.
Just bought one yesterday with the dark rhodium dial. I absolutely love it. Looked at the blue dial as well - gorgeous, but a bit sportier & not as dress-versatile as the dark rhodium. Tourneau in NYC was a pleasure to deal with.
Really nice honest review....
Colour is lovely and rich ...
I have the 39mm OP in blue..
About to pull the trigger on a OP after a Tudor AD questioned my ability to pay for a Black Bay Black 36 and even questioned if I was employed....Tudor just don't seem adequate any more.
Ouch... That's none of the AD's concern. Smack it to the man!
Great watch . the coloured pips give it a contemporary edge which suits you .
Thanks Simon. :-D would it suit you too? Given you've got a colourful character too 😂
EMKWAN REVIEWS lol
I have one with a blue dial and i absolutely in Love with it.
The collection has changed A LOT since this video 😅 Rolex Reviews

This is one of the best reviews I've ever seen -- for anything. Love your presentation style.

just got my white dial OP39. literally within the last hour. i love it
Have you had to wait to purchase this?

That watch is beautiful! Perfect size and dial as well.
Beautiful piece! I just bought the blue dial and I was so torn between the rhodium and the blue. Both are stunners!

EMKWAN REVIEWS Got the 39mm with solid 3, 6, 9. Prefer that to the lumed numerals.
Good choice. The white gold 3,6,9 is classy
Good review. You make valid points all around; good and "bad". Thanks.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching hit subscribe to see more watch related content coming this year.
Great information I am thinking of getting one
Got the same one today ! Absolutely classic!
Congratulations. Wear it in good health.
When I was at the AD recently I tried this watch on and really liked it The Rhodium grey is easily my favorite. I just wished the bezel was a bit more angular and not so rounded in profile , this slight change would have made me buy it that day ... Enjoy the watch its a beauty!!

If you thick the grey rhodium dial is hard to see, try the 36mm w/steel dial... I bought and returned it for the blue dial...
Hey question on authenticity. does the watch meant to have the rolex inscribed scrawny at the 6oclock position?
Yes it does
I loved this watch but because I have a tiny wrist I got a 114270 explorer
what a gorgeous piece. I love the simplicity it adds so much class.
A very informative review.
Corvetteman2013 thanks. Feel free to subscribe for more watch related content I’ve got coming up

I bought the 39 OP silver dial, and I love it. And you are right, it is a little hard to read, but I guess I will have to find another. Great watch, I will buy another.
Does the watch scratch easily? I wonder if i shld get the 3 piece link chain or the jubilee... any thoughts? Thanks
great video Emkwan. cheers
Thanks
Really fantastic video mate. That rhodium dial is killer 🔥
If you don't want the coloured pips then choose the black or white dials because it doest have them.
That's true. These were not available when I got this but now they are. If I'm brutally honest, I'd get the white or black. Much more versatile.
I own a Oyster Perpetual watch. It is basic. Halston, fashion designer once stated "Less is more". A basic design is always classy. Like the Oyster Perpetual is always classy.
This is far better than explorer2, it looks great on you.
Awesome.
Perfect summary! A better lume and the advanced clasp would make the OP 114300 perfect. But even without - I love mine!
Awesome Emkwan! I have a similar dial but it's a Date Just. I absolutely love it
Great review. I think you have nailed it.
Will this fit as well as my Submariner 16610 and my GMT 16710? Same lug width. Thank you very much! Liked, subscribed and shared. My absolute favorite UA-cam channel by far.

one on my wrist now.
Really good review, thanks for this.
Great video sir... I know this is a first level entry watch for the amazing world of rolex. What rolex brand would you consider a step up from this rolex brand...
The grey and the blue dial Oyster Perpetuals are both future classics.

This is video that made me discover your channel! Thank you so much for supporting my little watch channel.
Hey, im new to your channel., i need your honest opinion, because im planning to buy this watch, but my other option is the tudor gmt? What do you think should i get? Rolex op or Tudor gmt. Fyi tudor gmt is slightly cheaper though..
Hello... Does the original box have a flap? or is it a closed box
Love this watch! Great review and agree with many of the things you mentioned:)
Great vid. Have you done a review on your AP? I can't find one on either of your channels? 🤔
I haven't as yet, but ill likely do something similar to this style video later in February. Stay tuned to the channel to find out when.
I WANT ONE RIGHT NOW! YOU CONVINCED ME.
You can actually buy an easylink extension from AD to put on that bracelet!! 👍🏽
OK, I have to say, you're really good at reviewing. I'm sure you're good at reviewing everything else on your channel, but it's scary good how you went into the good and bad of your OP39.
Great review!!Love the blue pips..Congrats and enjoy
if it only had a date
Thanks for this post, you convinsed me, I have just orderd one! Thanks
I like your vids but the sound quality is awful.. Please get some sound deadening material for the walls. The echo in that room is horrible
When he rubs his sleeve against the table, it sounds like a lumberjack sawing through a tree...
I'm between this and a Hublot classic fusion right now. It's a hard pick.
Great video, thanks for sharing !
Nice watch. Basically has the look of a Milgauss without the lightning second hand.
Great video, Emkwan! I´m considering buying the version with the red grape dial and I´ll take this as a sign ;) Greetings from Norway
AndréFelipe buy the 39mm version. What do you think of the clasp?
@Bob FromBrisbane The clasp bothers me to a certain degree, but its an entry level Rolex so I guess they have to distinguish it from other, more expensive models?
AndréFelipe yes otherwise no one would purchase the Explorer.
Thanks for your review
a fellow watch enthusiast from GCC! I am from DOha and am also looking at this rolex!
"I assumed Rolex wasn't luxury enough." C'mon, dude. Seriously? Haha.

And the irony it comes from a youtuber, who pigs ppl to subscribe !
mohamed sayed dude... you obviously know NOTHING about Haute Horolgy
Great job. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Love these type of videos! I hope more watch you tubers do this!
I have the answer to your dislikes. My Seiko snxs79 has a gorgeous grey sunburst dial, full brilliant lume and an adjustable clasp. Mine cost £50 !
I want to Buy one, but i have a pretty Big wrist. Do you think i could wear it?
Yannick Andraschko try an equivalent size or the watch at a local store before purchasing. Some don’t mind the size but others will it’s so important to try a watch on your wrist multiple times before buying. Good luck.
EMKWAN REVIEWS i have a 114060 submariner date, How does it compare?
Beautiful watch do you still own it? and do you still like it?
Sold it. Got an Explorer 2... sold that and now have a DJ 41 and BLNR.

how do you get rid of those scratches at 2:54?

Awesome watch!
I really want the new, white one
AjaxForever just purchased one waiting for it to arrive👍👍👍
how much is that in abu dhabi?
oyster or explorer 1?
It's a simple and elegant watch
does the bezel rotate?
Not on this model.
I love the Oyster perpetual . Bought used one in Jeddah and got it serviced by Rolex . Sold for much more on return to UK . Beautiful timepieces .
hmm you could just put an Explorer bracelet on and clasp problem solved, no need to buy a different watch just cuz the clasp annoys you :D
The best, all the others are bling. Rolex should be a perfect tool watch...not a gangsta's watch.
Looks good in a suit, but not that much in casual wear...like jeans and sweater.
why r u selling this?
You don't know until you try it I mean in the store :)
May I ask how much did it cost you in AED?

This is around 18-21k Dirhams.
I don’t like the fact the case is bland and not sapphire
It is saphhire
the echo is so annoying - you need better digs
Abu what?
UA-camr is saying Rolex is not luxury enough! Wtf world
mohamed sayed it isn’t if you compare it with Audemars Piguet, Vacheron, Patek
He's chasing clout!! Probably looks down on Seiko and Tudor watch owners.
Small size ,dark and Can t read clearly the time,so it s not for me
hungry enouff arh?
it should have date on in
Nice watch I like it ,but looks like 100$,and all Rolex is scratch magnetic ( I preffer date at 6),and movement is not the best, many cheap seiko (presage) or orient ,orient star know 1-2 sec /day
I do not like this current style of videos bwing made that have cuts made every 5 seconds.
