I played it but put it back in the mail. Was WAAAYYY to much like DS3. Much of it seemed nearly identical. But great review man. Keep them coming!
Can we expect a outward review? Kinda want to know if its worth to buy.
This is random but, I've never played or built a pc but I'm planning on building a expensive maybe 2000 dollar pc. I was just gonna follow a UA-cam guide. Any advice or tips?
Your jokes were on point
@@timhigh5962 You're telling me Dark Souls 3 had grappling hooks, platforming, executions, a voiced protagonist and was set in a mythical Sengoku Japan? The only similarities I can see between this game and Dark Souls is the menu layouts and the camera.
I cant help but think about a little guy who begs grandma to buy this for him, cause ninjas are cool, and get absolutely stomped
The pre-teen who gets bullied at Middle School?

Tats me
The first 15 minutes of this game I was like "This ain't bad at all! Quite a bit easier than Bloodborne." 15 minute later the world was infested with the Dragonrot of dozens of deaths and the game was the bane of my existence. Highly recommended.
I was ROLLIN til I met Lady Butterfly. Then FromSoft reminded me that they were gonna destroy my soul....and maybe a controller or two along the way~
@@erikhendrickson59 I defeated her on my third try. Something clicked. You have to be aggressive in this game. I love this game
@@erikhendrickson59 I've had more problems with Shinobi Hunter than Lady Butterfly lmao
Can’t complain tho. Love em hard. Hard enough that you know you fucked up and how. Can only get better.
Was literally just thinking to myself, “man, it would be nice if ACG posted a review of Sekiro before I buy it.”
You never disappoint bro, keep it up!
definitely worth it if you enjoy souls game
It's better than any souls game and almost as good as Bloodborne imo

@@alexmurphy5289 i haven't played Sekiro and BB is one of my all time favs, but Sekiro has no replayability due to the lack of pvp/coop and customization and variety of playstyles and builds...

@@MrScrawnjuan spiderman and hzd are bore fests. Rest, i agree. Great games.
@@velvetcrowe5548 you didn't enjoy swinging around as spiderman?
@@MrScrawnjuan I did, for 2 hours. It got boring real fast.
To be honest, taking away character customization will reduce replayability for die-hards but it will make this game 100x more approachable for everyone else. Not having to worry about whether you are irrevocably messing up your character build will allow the player to focus on getting good at the game and not spending time making mistakes or scouring build tutorials.
Yep 100% right. I enjoyed being able to just focus on the combat, the story, and sweet ass ninja skills rather then researching how to make the perfect build for the weapon or playstyle I want.
Addition by subtraction
Im a die hard, and have 200 hours in sekiro already, "loot" and character customization is not needed in every game. For the most part games that try to implement "loot" and character customization end up being very empty and bland, at which point "loot" is purely superficial. The game should be good first. Then if you want a loot system go ahead, dont make getting re skins of the same shit over and over, the focus of the game, because they usually turn out bad. Lookin at you assassins creed.
I'm sure they just wanted to tell a story is all
@@skyrobotgamechannelyea6002
I agree, but I think Soulsborne didn't really suffer from this. Sure, the stat system looks like complete Hebrew the first time you play a Soulsborne game (which contributed to the feeling of complete mystery and helplessness that I've never felt since the amazing design of DKS1), but after that they're basically identical through all the games.
It's not easily approachable, but I really liked it. At the same time, RPG elements are getting shoehorned into every single game nowadays, more like an afterthought, and people don't remember games like, I don't know, Crash Bandicoot or some of those early shooters where you literally start with every resource that will be available to you.
"Sorry about this being late..."
Spending the time to get the review right shouldn't require an apology.
Uh no, it absolutely requires an apology. While people like you may make excuses, he apologizes. Another reason why I trust ACG for review games more than anyone else I know so far.
@@mopnem Are you for real ?
Just completed the game.. gotta say this - the " Sense of Satisfaction" that you get after beating the game is incomparable .
The difficulty and the learning curve makes the game even more interesting
The sense of satisfaction I got from finally beating the final boss was immense. Felt like a god eventually deflecting everything
I allready had an amazing feeling when i defeated the first boss yesterday. I can only imagine how great it feels to beat the final boss
I've been playing it like blood borne in the 1st part of the game mostly using dodge instead of deflect until i meet the third main BOSS. He really taught me the true mechanics of the game.
@@OldHunters alot of enemies actually kill themselves with consecutive deflects.
@@OldHunters I get you man.. the third phase is like hell.. I must have died 20-30 times already
That is what I love about you man ..You actually play these games and then tell us about it..Keep doing the good work man
If you can find any reviewers that review a game with out playing it...well I'd say report them but all reviewers play the game they review, maybe not as much as they should but they all play them. I'm of the mind that a game should be beaten before its reviewed, but there are some games that are so awful a small sample is enough to justifiably trash them. Vroom in the Night Sky I'm looking at you...
Its a crew i think
Most of the time, the enemy's crazy attack tracking is intended to teach the player to deflect rather than dodge. There is a method to the madness
Yeah it really does serve is purpose well. Plus dodging is pretty viable if you want to spend the time practicing it, I honestly find it pretty easy to dodge around the chained ogre but I definitely didn’t beat him like that the first times lol
Thanks for the review mate. Already own the game, but always enjoy watching the breakdowns.
A lot of stealth/action games push you to spec into either stealth or combat and stick to one, but in Sekiro they complement each other and you're rewarded for using a mixture of both and I love it.
Damn what a great review. I’m so glad I found this channel a few weeks ago. Keep up the great work, ACG.
The game is very hard. Everyone got the Dragonrot disease before I even installed the game. *feelsbadman*
Stay with it, these games go from hating it to loving them forever

Is this game harder than bloodborne and dark souls?

I got it on day one and it is fantastic. One interesting thing to me is how divisive this game is. There are a huuuge amount of “I am a pro souls player with 600 hours put in and this game is garbage, it’s not cause I’m dying a lot - the game is just bad” posts. I think it boils down to saltiness that the game isn’t Dark Souls 4 and they have too rigid expectations that the game would be something it isn’t. That is what makes this such a great game though - it is different. It is incredibly unforgiving and it feels very different than a Souls game. Anyway, great video here as always and thanks.
Preach
Paul Hofreiter dude, this game is even harder than nioh
kinda the reason i didn't like it as much as if it was made by another company. not the best game to go in completely blind like i did.
Not Shareblue
No. It’s actually even easier than souls.
That's because pepole act like the first game from ever made was demon souls. Even tho they have been around since the 90 making games closer to this.
I thought you weren’t reviewing this lol a few days late but glad you did it definitely looked promising
As always its my continuous mission to wait for your review ♥
Hands down the best reviewer out there. I was on the fence about this game, but your review sealed the deal for me to pick up. Keep up the good work bro!
I’ve been subscribed to ur channel from 2 years now and especially this game i was waiting for you and jim sterling to review and you nail it every detail you pick to your review, actually this is how every reviewer should be.
Great work been here since 20k subs. Keep it up!
I’ve died so many fucking times and I’m only at the chained ogre. Never played any souls game before though so I’m doing okay. Gotta keep practicing
I hope that you finished Sekiro and started playing the Souls games!
Man how did it go, I'm considering buying it but I have only played a bit of dark souls, so I don't know if it's worth it
Pre-ordered a week before release, but your reviews are great and I respect your opinion so I wanted to see what you had to say. Awesome video.
Love those Lone Wolf and Cub blood geysers. Oh, and your Marty Jannetty reference. Well done.
Great review man, you always do so well. And that little blurp about the double leg like Marty Jannety about made me soit my coffee out
Oh. My. God. That chained ogre was the bane of my existence for about 5 hours.
Right there with you man. This was the first enemy that just took over 25 tries for sure
Neutron Chicken it’s be wise your supposed to get the prosthetic set that emits fire. If you eavesdrop on the guards they even basically tell you he’s scared of fire
Was the hardest game I have ever played, but also one of the most fun games. The feeling when you defeat the end boss...priceless!
Game kind of reminds me of a few different games. What a modern Tenchu could be similar too. Lil bit of MGS3 stealth/positioning. The high octane, intensity of metal gear rising and except more reactive and skill based from less OTT animations plus latter being hack and a slash.
I think me dying more than I expected despite playing souls games for near 15 years. 4:01 in vid really hit home when that clicked when I’d played. For example, what the hell am I doing playing this way. This isn’t a standard Soulsbourne. With the fresh mechanics I got the sense they wanted you to use all that freedom you had available.
Thanks for the review btw. You’re the goat for game reviews on UA-cam these past lock of years! Keep it going!!
My go-to place for video game reviews.
Thanks for your hard work.
I'm 47 hours in and simply loving it..it's my favorite From Software game. The PC version ran very well to me at max settings at 1080p compared to Dark Souls 3 where I had to turn down some settings to keep a steady 60.
This is probably end up being my GOTY with DMC 5 trailing behind it and that's only if CDPR don't release Cyberpunk this year.
You're specs ?
By any chance have you played Metro Exodus? If so, thoughts? I'm thinking about playing after I finish Sekiro

Sekiro: Try To Stealth Every Enemy Cause Killing Them Is Harrrrd
Loved the review man. You do a great job. Everything sounded good and well researched. Just not having and online is what kills me. That’s the part that kept me playing DS3 for 3 years after release I just don’t see this game having that player base for that long.
If any of you are on PC having problems with gysnc input delay or screen tearing, go into nvidia control panel. Go to manage 3d settings, program settings, and select the sekiro exe file. Set monitor technology to fixed refresh, preferred refresh rate to application controlled, and vertical sync to use the 3d application setting. I was having some nasty input lag and this fixed it for me without adding screen tearing.
Swimming pool with razor blades and blenders...that's pretty much it. The similies irk me at times but yeah this one is spot on.
Loving it so far. Great review as always. I especially love how it forces you to learn to party - something that DS and Bloodborne allowed you to get around with roll dodging. I plan to go back to the soulsborne games and try parrying more.
Nice review! I never played any dark souls or bloodborne but I'm currently loving sekiro. I'm up to owl father and having so much fun!

You hit the nail on the head with this one, my man! Great review for a great game. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for people like me this is a godsend.
Always appreciate your in depth reviews.
Your reviews are the best. I watch all of them even if I am not even interested in the game just to see what you have to say. Keep up the great work.
This game is phenomenal. That's it, that's my opinion. I dont have these incredibly high expectations people feel entitled to now a days. I dont nitpick a very good game for minor issues.
Take it for what it's worth, it's just my opinion. 90% of the people I personally know who bought this game would recommend it.
I'm hoping to hear A.C.G. do a review of Avalanche Studio's "Generation Zero." I picked it up today since I have always been inexorably drawn to obscure titles, but I'd be sincerely interested to hear his thoughts on the first self-published title from the development studio responsible for Mad Max, Just Cause, and very soon, a sizeable portion of "Rage 2."
As far as I'm concerned cerned, A.C.G. is the Roger Ebert of the gaming industry.
Cheers mate . . .

I have been playing Assassins Creed Odyssey a lot lately, wich isn't that difficult to play. I have problems getting into Sekiro. It so much harder. I''m not really a hardcore gamer. I guess the save system in Sekiro is more challenging, but for me it's very frustrating to start over every time I fail. I will stick with it though, and see if I can make progress .
If you can train yourself to excel at this game I can all but guarantee you'll get more out of the experience than you would from a thousand bland copypasted ubisoft titles. I was stuck on a certain midgame boss for like a week. I was angry. I thought about giving up, but I kept trying and trying and then FINALLY I nailed it. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the feeling was better than sex. If you're capable of learning from your mistakes and give it your all, this game is beyonddd rewarding. Stick with it!!
