- “The SE Paul’s Guitar is a great example of design, engineering, and teamwork. It’s as close to home as we could get inside of the SE Series, and I am very proud of it,” - Paul Reed Smith
The SE Paul’s Guitar delivers a lot of “PRS,” starting with tone and versatility. The TCI “S” treble and bass pickups deliver a pure, vintage sound. The SE Paul’s Guitar also features two mini-toggle switches between the volume and tone knobs, which enable you to coil tap both pickups independently, yielding eight total pickup combinations. The PRS stoptail bridge is the same machined stoptail with brass inserts as spec'd on the Core Paul's Guitar. Watch along as Bryan Ewald goes over all the specifications and sounds of this versatile guitar.

So I walked into a guitar shop in Pittsburgh. N Stuff music, amazing PRS selection. I played almost every SE. I have a Santana SE at home that I love so I am always keeping my eyes peeled and the deals last years were insane. Bravo PRS! I was expecting to gravitate to the Swamp Ash Special, but found to my surprise the Paul’s guitar was my favorite. The feel and tone sold me. The only thing that I didn’t love was the color, and am still waiting on some new options. The current brown, gray, and blue/turquoise aren’t my favorite. A purple mist vibe like the core would be incredible, a dream come true. Even a green or red would be beautiful. Thanks for the work you guys do, it’s a pleasure to have these at such affordable prices. Let’s get some other color options for the Paul’s guitar! I am waiting for the right one!
I bought one! Its just waiting to be opened for Christmas! Never played guitar but hoping to start learning! Faded Blue was the color I chose......😊
One thing you know for sure now, if it doesn't sound good, the guitar is not to blame 😂
I hope it inspires you to create something cool!
@@bobdelair02 I am sure I will be terrible in the beginning but I am hopeful that the simple joy it brings me will allow it to progress to sounding decent! 🤪
Good for you. You won’t have a hard to play guitar holding you back. Enjoy.
@@Blueshade Anyone who can sit with their instrument and take it seriously is a good musician. Doesn't matter how long you have played, as long as you love it!!
My Next guitar in my line-up. Just waiting for the funds to arrive. 😀
Great guitar. I tune mine to D Standard, and the pickups really shine in that lower register.
Love my SE Paul's Guitar!
Just ordered one tonight! Love the color!
please make a Lettieri SE version 😊
That would be fun.
That finish is gorgeous
Looks great
I have a 594 SE and it’s simply brilliant. Kind of want one of these. I bet it’s incredible. PRS isn’t my vibe visually but damn, it’s a fantastic instrument.
I’ve just bought a 2408 ezera verde simply magnificent.
I have played a Paul's guitar before, nice guitar, neck feels like a custom 24 neck to me, but a have played over 20 PRS guitars
The Paul's Guitar SE was the PRS that made me just become a PRS Fanboy. And I had a 594 core and a Silver sky core before, both fantastic for sure, I have now a SS SE Maple that I love, but for some reason the Paul's Guitar SE plays so so good, and everything about it suited me great. Kid of similar to the original mccarty, which is my favorite PRS model with the DGT I would say. Love the 25 inch scale and simplicity. The 594 the shorter scale length felt a bit to narrow for me in the upper frets for some reason, so the 25 scale length works perfect for me.
best SE ever
This is the one that got my attention a couple years back but I’m still happy with my stripped down Tremonti so haven’t done any buying
I bought a used one a couple of years ago. I thought it would be a great modding platform. I was partially right. It’s great. But it’s so great I haven’t felt the need to mod it. Other the graphtech ratio tuners. All my guitars get those. Anyway it’s one of my favorite guitars. And I have a couple of artist package and WL 594’s. It easily hangs with those.
Hey, what would you recommend? SE Paul's guitar or S2
@@sathira_anuk5179 I really don’t think you can go wrong with any PRS. I have 11 of them. However none of them are S2’s. Not because I have anything against them. I just haven’t found the right one. Imo they’re just in a weird spot. I’m always looking for deals, mostly on used ones. And you can find a lot of the SE’s in the $500-600 range. And with one exception, it gotten my cores in the $1500-2500 range. I did splurge on a wood library but still got a killer deal.
So that puts the $800-1200 S2’s in a weird spot. If I’m patient, I can normally find a core for not much more. Or I can save a couple of hundred and get an SE. Admittedly there are a few S2 models that look pretty cool. Like the studio. I’ve been keeping my eye out for one of the satin versions. Just haven’t seen a deal that’s gotten me to pull the trigger.
I've had a bunch of PRS SE guitars and I had three PRS USA and I hated them all, especially the PRS 594 McCarty. They're beautiful guitars, the only guitar more beautiful than the USA PRS models is the Gibson Les Paul. The pick ups Paul makes sound incredible. I've played PRS SE models with the stock pick ups and they sounded great but I hate the neck shape, I hate the choice Paul made for a 10 inch radius. Everything is great about PRS except the neck, I can play 9.5 inch radii on my Fender Tele and Strat, I feel super comfortable playing my Gibsons, my Les Paul, my SG or my ES-335 with a thick rounded C shape and a 12 inch radius, but in my mind there's just something wrong with the choice of a 10 inch radius. I'll play 9.5, 12 inch and 14 inch and even 16 inch like on my Charvel but never 10 inch.
Wish there was a lefty version
Sounds pretty compressed, I'm guessing it sounds more open and realistic in person
The pickups in these are really nice. It's nice to see that there's guitars for around $1000 that don't need any upgrades.
The only better ones for the price are Harmony guitars. $1300 for an American guitar built in the Heritage factory. The same building the $1,000,000 Gibsons were built in.
The pickups are great in all of them.
Nitro finishes too. I don't know another company that's giving you all of that for $1300. Epiphones are $1500 now 😂
Those Harmony’s are amazing do not get the credit they deserve ❤
What’s the signal chain in the intro and outro?
please tell me there is a left handed model
Will these be as impossible to purchase as an Archon an Archon?
No they have them pretty regularly in retail stores
When will i be able to have a PRS. 😔
Weed need a semi-hollow one 😅
I bought Yesterday one of these Guitars.
Is it normal that if i turn down the volume from 10 to 8 i have a massive lost about the high frequents?
Unfortunately that what happens with cheaper pots. If you solder in a treble bleed, you'll retain all of the highs. It's a must have mod in my opinion.
@@BillGetsItDunn it Is normal in this guitars? :0
I thought The SE Paul’s Guitar TCI pickups were split, not tapped…?
Playing reminds me of animals nice guitar
make a four string
Paul hates us leftys, why are we so limited on selection? We should have color options like right handed models.
We represent 10% of the population. Its not economical.
PRS literally expanded by SE Lefty line by like 1000% this year.
1:10 "...is a fantastic guitar player ..." remember what you just said, "fantastic" ...I'm a former professional guitarist, essentially I'm a nobody, I'm not famous but I did have a contract with the label BMG as the guitarist for a band I whose name I won't disclose. If I played guitar like Paul does nobody would have ever hired me and I'm just an average guitar player.
Just bought the PRS swamp ash special put locking tuners on it plays like a 3000.00 $ guitar cant recommend this guitar any more buiteful especially the blue iris color 😅
I wish you guys would stop using the Sonzera amp to test these guitars. It sounds mediocre frankly. I've heard it described as a wet blanket tone. I wasn't impressed with my twenty minute playthrough with it.
He’s not a fantastic guitar player.
